This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

A nice clean beach suitable for children with some good watersports available.
There is a good choice of restaurants and bars although most tended to cater for the football fans which we were not.

far to much aircraft noise, if you like british bars, british breakfasts and loutish behaviour at night then this is the place for you.

The resort is fairly small and quiet. The best shops are about a mile out of town in a large shopping mall called the atlantico centre. With a large supermarket(cheap prices),bowling alley, cinema and numerous clothes shops it really is worth a visit .It was about a 20min walk around the bay or a 3 minute drive. There is a regular bus but we never used it.
The beach is man made and compared to the natural beaches all around the Island it is poor. my advice would be to hire a car and discover the world class beaches dotted all around . Driving is so easy with no traffic lights ,just roundabouts and very little traffic. We are going back to the same resort in August, can't wait!

About 5 mins walk to the main centre the usual selection of gift and tat shop prevails
A few quiet bars and restaurants around this is a family resort at its best
Go and see Harley the seal at the harbour and just to the left behind the harbour wall you can feed the chipmunks
In all a family resort for a great fly and flop holiday

The resort of Costa Caleta is great it is definitely one to go to. It is central on the island so if you hire a car you can get anywhere you want really easily, there are many lovely places to eat but a definate must is the steak house and the chinese down near pieros music cafe.
The night life is good but going in November it is probably a lot quieter than the summer months, there is a brilliant singer who works at different places around the resort so you will always find him.
The beach was nice and clean, ideal if you have young children, there is a man who walks on selling fresh fruit and coconuts and also a small beach bar which you will need on those long hot days doing nothing.
We are all planning to go back there really soon.

A good family resort with a good clean beach. Lots of resturants even a Mcdonalds and Burger King for the kids.

This is a quiet resort but ideal for young families and couples alike. There are restaurants of all different types from pub food to top of the range cuisine but it was all reasonably priced and readily available.
The beach is a little far out from the Antigua (we reckoned about a mile and a half along the costal path) but it was a really relaxing walk and with the views we hardly noticed.
The beach is clean and safe and there are some sea lions close by which provided good entertainment. All the paths are flat and well surfaced but the access to the beach itself is up a couple of steps which was slightly tricky with a buggy (got used to it though).
The resort is close to the airport which is great for transfer time and plane spotting but there are planes flying over frequently and this may disturb people not used to it.

We went for a walk along the beach but we are not beach lovers but what we could see it was lovely. There were sand sculptures which take your breath away.
The entertainment was fine, typical holiday tourist stuff with the music and karaoke etc...but cannot fault it.
The resort was beautiful, no complaints at all, saw 1 cockroach and Ranald stepped on it so if there is a huge invasion, blame him, want his mobile number? Joking...
We would definately visit again, but as I said, best for families with young children (the Cat Cafe was so sweet!)

Well what can I say we return to this resort every year Caleta De Fuste (or Costa Caleta as it is now known) is a fabulous place for the middle age and upward as there are no discos thereby no yob culture.
I must say that if you want something to eat you must go to MAMBOS a couple of doors from the Villa Florida Apartments, the food is excellent and the welcome is second to none, Kerry the emcee on the street has a personality the size of a planet, the there are the waiters Marco and Shamer (I know I've spelt that wrong).
The cooking is to a very high standard and you must try a bottle of their red Torres Coronas, what a great and very reasonable place to eat and I am a chef by trade so I can speak from experience, just tell them you have read this review and watch what happens next, you won't be disappointed.
The best bar if you just want a drink is El Capitan opposite the Barcelo hotel, woith happy hour from 1pm to 2pm and again 8.30pm to 10.30pm you will not find a better bar anywhwere on the island with a buy one get o9ne free policy (2 pints premium bier and 2 vodka and oj for 5.70 euros about £3.75) the resort is fab the beach is excellent, the food is great, you can even ride camels if you want, if you want to travel to resort from the airport by cab it costs less thatn £5.
What more can I say, go there and find out for yourself you will not be disappointed.
