This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Dont go, There is not one guest I stayed with who enjoyed themself. My poor 3 year old was begging to go home

Do not except a bungalow near the road that surrounds this complex i as was told by other holidaymakers who stayed here they were the ones that got robbed on a regular basis . the words quick getaway come to mind

don't choose the bungalows - poor outlook an isolated.
Local bar the Crazy Goat good fun and excellent food at Mustang Sally.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

This would be good in height of summer when really hot then open roof woudnt matter and definitely need transport of your own

Resort was a goo 10-15 mins walk, 3 euros in a taxi.. lots of bars and food no noisy nightclubs that we saw..very clean beach...

The beach and surrounding area was very clean and safe for children. There is a small beach behind the Atlantic Shopping centre which is definately worth a visit for the day, its beautiful!

The resort is quiet mainly, although there were a few late bars in the main town which was just 10 minutes up the road. There are lots of restaurants, we liked Tommy Nutters and Fado Rock. Entertainment-wise there isn't alot, a walk through the town then along the beach is nice but apart from that not alot else. We didn't rate the beach near the hotel, the sand was very gritty and the sea was rocky underfoot.
The free bus service to Atlantico was a god-send as there are some nice shops to browse and restaurants including a Burger King if you are home sick. There is a beautiful beach there too, much nicer than the one nearest the hotel, we used this beach alot and sometimes just got a cab back which cost us no more than 5 Euro. On the subject of cabs my biggest tip is - get a cab from the airport to the hotel - it costs about 10 euro, only took 10 - 15 minutes and means no waiting no everyone to get their bags. We were at the hotel, unpacked and out exploring before the rest of the guests had even arrived. Going back we were firt checked in - alot less stressful for very little money!
One other thing - hire a car. We didn't and wished we had as the bus service is reliable but very slow.
We went to Baku water park and really loved it - but beware the water is salt water and can sting your eyes.

The resort is nice check out the snorkilng and scuba diving. The beach is nice but stoney. Plenty of nice bars and shops. The sea was clear.

The resot was very clean and loads of places to eat with very nice food in most.The beach was nice but I found the sea a bit stoney.
There were men building sand statues which was nice.The rocks round the other side of the beach had chipmonks living in them they were great to watch.
I FOUND It a very nice place to visit and the peolpe were very friendly I am going again this year.

The resort area is fantastic although it is a shame that more "timeshare" people appearing to be invading the resort (although they will tell you this is not what they are doing). The resort and beach have always been excellent with some fab bars and restaurants. It's a shame though that there is more building going on further up the resort which appears to be affecting local wildlife.

Seemed very clean with no litter etc. Not sure what entertainment as stayed on complex most of the time. The beach we went to was wonderful - even went on a camel! Would definitely return. :)

Caleta is a growing family resort ideal if you want a relaxing time but not for young couples or groups as the entertainment is geared up for families.
Pubs, shops and cafes are all pretty good but don't really have a lot of choice (burgers, sausage, chips etc everywhere).
Plenty to do with mini golf, watersports, tennis etc and overall a really friendly place, go see for yourself. Enjoy.

Resort was great for families. Not too much for older kids though.
Go on the cattermaran trip (a must)! Dont bother with the submarine, theres nothing to see! The restaraunt upstairs opposite the pirate ship is really nice too! Walk around the corner to the sea front during the day and look out for the chipmonks in the rocks.
Visit Barcelo Hotel for some great evening entertainment. Please dont go if your one of the many foul mouthed scumbags so prevellent these days!
