Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Beaches

We've been going to PDC for a few years now over for new years and it seems to be losing it's sparkle. I don't quite know how to describe it. Every "Irish" pub you go into has someone belting out a tune (whether they can sing or not is another question). In my experience that is about it in night time entertainment. Oh, there are quiz nights and bingo nights but nothing that little bit different from home.

Plenty of very good restuarants around. Namely Lanis, The Place, The Cod Father are great.
Good bars are The Whale and Ale. Dirty Duck2 Harvester. Tels Bar are some of the best and then you have numerous disco bars etc.
There are some good walks namely from the apartments to las picolos or the airport (very flat) either along the beach or the prom.
Lanzarote is realy good we have booked our return for next xams and new year.

Puerto del Carmen has got lots of shops and even more restaurants. The Lani chain of restaurants were particularly good, although some people feel that they are more expensive we didn't find them any more so than some others we went to outside the resort. There is a new Lani restaurant called La Ola which even has a swimming pool and a four poster bed! It served excellent food but didn't have the cosy ambience of some of the others at it was more expensive, much larger and much noiser too.
The beaches can be anything from huge, open spaces to small rocky coves, sheltered or exposed to the winds that can sometimes be quite fierce. It's not pleasant to be sandblasted while you're trying to get a suntan! There were several places on the main beach that had rocks that had to be avoided but if you just head for where all the umbrellas are then that's the better place to be. Los Pocillos beach was very windy at times as it was more exposed. The harbour at Puerto del Carmen was busy with yachts and boats and there were hundreds of fish of various sizes that enjoyed the bread we threw them.
For anyone who likes planes then Matagorda (the airport side of Puerto del Carmen) is the place to be. It's a long walk or a short car ride from PDC and unlike many places, you can walk right up to the perimeter fence along a wooden boardwalk. There is a light gantry that is just off the beach and the planes use this to line up their approach before landing. For a really scary experience just sit on a rock in line with the gantry and have a plane fly directly over you at no more than 50 feet - fantastic!

Puerto Del Carmen is starting to look a little run down and many beach front establishments need to work on their outside and inside decor to attract more business.
The beach was not overcrowded but it was November, entertainment is such a varied thing that whatever you want you will find it.

Puerto Del Carmen consists of the old town and the new, connected together by a half hour stroll along a restaurant/pub/club/shop/amusement arcade lined front.
The new town has the night clubs, the casino and the McDonalds. The old town has the seafood restaurants and the characteristic winding streets. Both have plenty of bars and restaurants. There is nightlife for every taste, although if you like clubbing pick the new town, and if you like the smaller pubs playing solo acoustics then pick the old town.
The resort was fairly clean with plenty bins and the streets were swept.
We had poor weather during our stay but the beach seemed very clean and well kept.
The shops are what you expect at a holiday resort - If you've seen the first 15 you've seen them all.
There are plenty trips etc available and car hire seemed very cheap - We could get a week's car for £50, but bear in mind we were out of season.
Eating out wasn't too expensive either - a meal for 2 including wine was about £20 - £40 depending on how nice you wanted it.
Taxi transfers from the airport was about £8 - just in case you can subtract the transfers from your holiday price like we could. There was a bit of a queue but it moved quick - About 5 mins in all.

Puerto Del Carmen is probably the best resort in Lanzorate, plenty of restaurants and bars, I would recomend the Lani's restaurants, the food is lovely and plenty of it. Also there is an ice cream parlour on the seafront, we always stopped off there after dinner. The beach is always very clean as is the resort itself. This was the third time I have stayed within this resort.
