The reception area was good. We made one little complaint and it was seen to straight away.
The resort was being cleaned all day, every day. The pool was cleaned out daily before it was opened. The big pool was very deep and didn't have a shallow end so it was not for little ones to use. There was a baby pool as well but that was really shallow. It could have done with one in between.
The Happy Days bar was fabulous. The food was excellent and the bar men were funny and made the kids laugh. We ate there every day in our first week because we knew the food was good. It was also quiet because we went just before christmas and it wasn't busy at all. There was no entertainment at night because of that. We appreciated that though as the children would have been disturbed if there had been loud music until the early hours. We were told it was loud in the summer months.
The resort was set in a fabulous location. Playa De Las Americas was in one direction and Los Christianos in the other. There were shops and bars/restaurants galore - lots of them English. They made you feel really welcome. The only thing which drove us mad were the sales people/ticket touters. In the end, we had to be plain rude just to get rid of them.
All in all, we had a brilliant time and didn't want to come home.

The rooms were cleaned daily and the room itself was massive we had a large double balcony with doors coming off the bedroom and the living room overlooking the golf course. The kitchen was compact but had everything you would need the bathroom had two doors also one from the bedroom and one from the living room.
The entertainment was great for small children (discos, parrot shows, comedy shows etc) my son loved it.
We ate at the hotel a couple of times the food was nice a good selection of food and drinks available they also had a bbq once a week which I think was about 20 euros but that included your food and wine they had face painting to keep the children occupied.
The pool area was great we couldn

Hotel staff were good on check-in despite being very busy.As we were two couples sharing a self catered appartment we requested an up-grade to give us an extra bedroom. This was offered at 25 Euros per night, well worth the cost as we were given a penthouse appartment with roof tce.
The appartment was well equipped and kept very clean. The maid service was good and discreet.
Did not try the food on the complex, tended to eat out or buy at the town supermarkets and eat in.
This was a quiet time of year but the weather was great every day.
The only real bad comment is about the pool....the loose and chipped tiles realy are dangerous. We felt that this area needed some attention ASAP.

Hotel was too large, but be very careful of the swimming pools which have loose tiles and the surrounding walkway tiles are very slippery. 2 peaople fell while we were there, but if you are going to this hotel you won't be dissapointed although unsure if it merits a 4 star.

The food was a difficult one as we went Half Board. Most of the food when we first arrived was rather cold and to be honest we could not face it. Every week at the hotel we were given a Questionnaire to fill with regards to the Restaurant and I have to say it did improve slightly by the end of our stay.
The most disturbing aspect of the food was the pudding that I chose. It was a small square of cake with a cream filling. When I bought it back to the table in which we were dining my Friend said "What's that green stuff?" When I looked down to my disgust is was mould growing. I informed one the waiters and he said "I don't think it is" He took the cake away, no apology....nothing. Then out of curiosity I had a look at all of the other pieces of cake that were on the same tray and 90% of them were mouldy too. I called a different Waiter and showed him the cakes. He then took them all away. NO APOLOGY AGAIN THOUGH!
Put it this way none of us had another one of those!
There was a good combination of different foods, Fish, Beef, Chicken, Chinese Food, Chips, Veg, Bread, Salad, Pate, Cheese, Soup etc. The Fresh Bread was really really nice, the small Baps were rather hard and difficult to chew. There was also a section for children which consisted of, Burgers (no onion), Spaghetti, Fish Fingers, Pizza, Onion Rings, Potato's etc.
Breakfast - There was BACON...although it is not what people from the UK would call Bacon. It was more like.....FAT really. If you can see the Bacon you have better eyes than any of us. The Sausage did not seem cooked although it was, but again on most occasions it was only just warm. The scrambled egg was really nice and that was hot. I had that most days with some toast. There were plenty of different Cereal's.
The Staff in the Restaurant are mostly very pleasant and there English is not bad at all.
They all multi skill and work all over the complex.
POOL- The pool was very nice but some of the tiles are very loose and others are missing. The side of the pool is very very slippy so if you take children be careful.
We did not seem to have a problem getting a bed as others have mentioned.
The Hotel was very clean. Our room was fairly clean but the floor was often not mopped thoroughly.
The Bathroom and Kitchen were really nice. We had a Bath and Shower. The Maid put clean Towels in every other day, including Toilet Roll, Mopping the floor (cloth rather Dirty though) The Maids were really really nice.
The Supermarket at the complex was very expensive, it is a lot cheaper to go into Las Americas and get food and bits from there. For a 4 litre bottle of water if cost 1 Euro 10 cents. BARGAIN!
TAXIS- Beware of Taxis.
To walk to Las Americas from the complex it will take you about 15-20 mins. The easiest was it to walk down the path that runs just behind the Golf Course, then when you get near to the end of it turn left, and then take the first turning on your right to take you to the fantastic blue sea.
Taxi Drivers will try and rip you off. We got charged from 1.93 Euros to 5.98 Euros for a Taxi going to or coming from the same place/Area.
When you get in a Taxi ask how much it will be before you agree to get in or if you just get in then ask for a receipt once the Taxi has stopped. That way they will not press a button their meter that increases the price to something ridiculous. They will actually charge you what is on the meter. You should not pay any more than 3 Euros in the day for a Taxi to Las Americas or back to the complex....and for late at night after 12 not more than 5 Euros.
The Taxi's are all the same company.
We did not really watch much of the Entertainment. We did stay to watch a Hypnotist, he was rather good.
Just in reception everyday they have people that come in to sell different products. There was a handbag stall, Jewellery Stall, Caricature Stall/Pictures. They were quite nice.
The staff were all very nice and some of them were quite funny as they like to try and speak the way that we do.
There is a little cafe type place at the complex also. The Pizza's there are fantastic, I recommend that you try them.
Reps were on the site, but we did not have much to do with them. We mentioned about the Taxi's but they were not bothered at all.
I would go to this complex again even though I had Mouldy food.
I liked Las Americas too, not many shops for me though...but hey we're all different.
If you go here enjoy it.....nothings perfect...JUST WATCH THOSE TAXI'S.

The kitchen consisted of a electric oven and hob large fridge freezer and all crockery including egg cups. As we stayed self catering we visited the hotel shop which can be expensive but ok for the essentials, your better taking the short 10 min walk down to the town or even a taxi but try to agree a price as no 2 taxis will never be the same price.
The town has a multitude of small and large supermarkets, gift and designer outlets among the hundreds of bars and clubs very nice during the day but you can't walk 10 meters at night without bar reps trying to entice you in to their bar with the promise of the cheapest 2 for 1 offer in town Also not forgetting the lookie lookie men trying to sell fake designer watches and gold if you do take them on barter they start from

Hotel staff were very nice. Entertainment team kept the kids happy but not really for the parents! A trip into Las Americas for that I think!
The path to the complex does require some attention and taxis would be advised at night. There were some ladies of the night at the bottom of the road so families would be better off in a taxi, but where in the world can you go and not stumble across the oldest trade in the world?
Hotel shop good for bread but everything else expensive. Netto outside Hotel Colon very cheap with a taxi rank outside, return trip costing about 3 Euro.
We like to visit Tenerife in the winter months and will hopefully return to this apartment again.
