All rooms face the pool or castle. Restaurants along the beach front are all very good and in the hotel if its just chips, burgers and pizza you want.
Whole cooked chicken from the skate park cafe was very nice to.

Ask for high floor, the view is fabulous.
Try La Tasca Andaluza restaurant; intimate, typically Spanish. Excellent menu of the day 8.50 euros; lots of choice, generous portions + complementary olives, bread and liqueur. Ying Ping also very good and reasonable.

Hotel too far from beach and also not a pleasant walk across roads etc.
Transport from hotel was good with taxis 2mins and bus to town every half hour.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Fuengirola but a walkway was being built while we were there, linking the hotel with the resort.

Full of restaurants - doesn't really have much in the entertainment line - maybe this was because we were there in September.

Fuengirola had a real Spanish Atmosphere. Not rowdy, just full of people, mainly Spanish, on holiday enjoying themselves. The town was interesting and at night the harbour area was lively. Lots of places to eat, lovely beach and miles of promenade. Great bus service and trains which made getting around very simple. Certainly go back and to the Gardenia Park!

Fuengirola isn't the classiest resort in Europe but for sun sea and sand with chips, chinese or paella for dinner it is ideal.
Lots to do and good value drinks. Excursions to Seville/Malaga etc are available but not a base for 'culture vultures'.
I also heard of people in our hotel who'd been robbed but this is the case in any tourist area these days.
Great for a family week in the sun. Even in mid-late Sept I got sunburn :-)

Just arrived back from “the Village” and on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give the resort a 7 .First and fore most can I say that the Complex was run very well, from the very friendly and informative reception desk staff to the cheery bar staff.
Faults.
The biggest failing has to be the location, it has no beach and is too far to walk for any “extra curricular” night life, and we did get a taxi on a couple of occasions into both Benalmadena and Furengarola and on both occasions found a fabulous restaurant to dine in.
I did feel that the perimeter fence and security guards gave the impression that they where there to keep you in rather than stop unpaying guests getting in
Being 47 years of age and having done the “Kids holiday” thing I found that some of the younger children where becoming a bit tiresome towards the end of the holiday especially around meal times, maybe if the restaurant was split so the adults only could eat on their own?
Plus points
For me the food that was served in the restaurant was very good and diverse .The rooms where of the highest quality and although beyond the tour operators control the weather was fabulous
If I was to recommend the complex to any one it would be to a young family on a budget and to go all inclusive, the children are well catered for in both food and entertainment and can wander around in a safe and secure environment
To this end I think that for a holiday such as this I think that a lot of responsibility falls on the Travel agent to make sure that this type of holiday is for you, it is billed as new concept in holidays, but I beg to disagree, it feels like holiday camp 2005 which may be not every bodies cup of tea, which if you read the forum you can see that some people like it and some don’t.
So to sum up I personally will not be going back but will recommend the complex to young couples with children who want a worry free and relaxing holiday.

Bit of building work going on toward the back streets and on a small part of the prom. Lots of bars and entertainment for everyone including stacks of tourist shops.
Beach was clean with a life guard manning it till early evening and noticed all the prom was hosed down everyday.

As the Holiday Village was quite a way from the towns we did not spend much time in the resorts, but seemed clean enough with good restaurants and bars.
Did not visit the beach as we did not have time. The hotel was adequate enough for us to relax in on the days that we did not book excursions, but looked nice and clean.
To summarise, we had an excellent holiday and would definitely visit again and would definitely recommend the Holiday Village to family and friends.
I have to say, this was an excellent value for money relaxing family resort and if we could have, we would have stayed longer.
