Largest Rooms are in the newly refurbished rooms around the low 2000's. If you have mobility problems let reception know they will try to get you a room close to the bars/reception and no stairs to climb.

There was nothing to do as the weather was very cold just sit around in bar playing cards.

If you went into Sousse or Monastir you got hassled alot and when your cold you just want to hit them!

The beach was filthy broken glass and rubbish everywhere probably lovely in summer as so close to hotel.

Im sorry I wouldnt reccomend Tunisia as a nice holiday im glad I didnt take my kids they would have been bored stupid.

Very hard to judge this as the weather had been pretty awful and sand had been blown all over the place but believe me I've been to worst places

Entertainment wise - again Febuary is probably the wrong time of year to judge as it is out of season so most of the amenities were closed.

The beach looks OK and will probably be buzzing in the summer.

Taxis are cheap and most of the guys will run on the meter.
However if you are going far negotiate and you will get a better deal. We went to Monastir from Sousse about ten miles. The guy waited on us for three hrs and then took us back to Sousse for 20 Dinars.

It's probably unfair of me to be too critical of Sousse as we generally like to go to somwhere where we can fill the day possibly hire a car etc ( I have driven in New York, Paris and Rome) I wouldn't like to try Tunisia they are nuts in that cheerily fatalistic way you sometimes get in the Islamic world).

All in all I found the pace of the holiday too slow with little opportunity to do much except sit in the hotel lobby and watch the little old ladies who come for six too ten weeks wander round the hotel.

In other word I was bored silly.

Although we did not leave the hotel much due to 4 of our 7 days being wet. I found the beach area clean and tidy with soft sand to walk on. The staff are constantly cleaning the area and picking up the weed that is washed in from the sea.

Be careful of the traffic as pedestrians are seen as fair game on the roads.

If you want to go into the town then grab a Taxi. This will cost around 3-4 dinars £1-£2. If you go into the Medina then be prepared. Everything you have to barter for. Look at what you want to buy then set yourselve a price. The shopkeepers will start at a silly price well over the top. You can then state what you would pay for it but only offer about a third of what you had already decided. This will let them belive that when you settle for a price they have raised you up quite a bit. Never pay what they ask for on the first take as you will find things very dear.

Although they get on your nerves trying to get you into their shops they are very friendly and as long as you say no and mean it they leave you alone. As soon as you show interest in something they are all over you. Walking about in this area you feel safe and unthreatened but hassled at every turn.

The Solar center next to the medina is a typical shopping centre with no frills shopping. You just go in like the local Woolies and buy your goods.

The resort was generally ok, however the beach was a state and looked totally abandoned, we were told there had been a tropical storm a few weeks ebfore our visit however no-one had bothered to tidy it as of yet.

As always though watch your pockets and be aware that you'll be constantly approached for massages/camel rides etc.

The beaches were black with seaweed - yes, I know we were out of season - but we live in Cornwall and are surrounded with beaches, none of which looked or smelt as bad as Sousse's.

The markets were an experience but I wouldn't have ventured down to them if I never had my partner with me as the Tunisians seem to like talking to men and look through women, but my partner loved the haggling and the harder he haggled the more they loved haggling with him!

Everywhere you go there are cafe's and they're all filled with local men, smoking hubbly-bubbly pipes and the local cuppa and they all look at you as if you're a two headed monster.

I wouldn't go back with my son again as I felt the whole country was intimidating and not family orientated, they have a long way to go before it will be considered a family resort.

There are real leather bargains to be had - if you can fit them all in your case for the return journey and we managed to buy 200 cigarettes for £5 - so there were some good points!!!

Hotel grounds leading to the fine sandy beach, which stretched for miles was well presented. Areas outside the hotel were clean and tidy but really what you would expect from Tunisia. You can have a pleasant walk to Sousse along the beach by turning right.

As we visited in winter we didn't do much of the activities that we saw advertised such as diving, watersports and daytrips on the galleon and glass bottomed boat. Having said that, we had enough to do with the trips that we booked through our tour operator.

We visited El Jhem and marveled at the Coliseum and Roman Villas, toured the Olive Groves and visited the Mausoleum of the much loved previous president(I'm ashamed to say that I cannot remember his name)in Monastir. The medina was grubby but with so many people existing in such a small space it wasn't surprising. In fact I was surprised and delighted at the high level of cleanliness provided for the tourists when the local people have such a lower standard of living.

It's amazing that we tourists aren't resented more....I loved the country and compliments are gratefully received. I think we all ought to say thank you more often!

This was my first holiday abroad and I was a little worried about the male harrassment I might receive, having done my reading!! There was a lot of starring but no harrassment (apart from the Medina), just very friendly people.

The resort was very clean with lots of happy well fed cats and the beach was beautiful.

There was entertainment around the resort - even 'The Rose & Crown Pub'!! didn't go though.

Lots of nice shopping malls to a high standard.

All in all a wonderful holiday even though the weather was not good, still lots to see and enjoy.

Going again

The Resort itself is lovely but you do get pestered alot by people trying to get you to buy things but if you tell them to go away they do. Beach lovely and clean would recommend it to everyone.

The hotel was between two resorts (Sousse and El Kantoui). The rep told us we had the best of both worlds, in fact we had nothing apart from an 'Irish' pub
