The room was clean and tidy big enough, the food was nice the menu was quite varied. The hotel was about 10 minute walk to the town but you could get a taxi from outside the resort.

The staff were excellent they kept the kids entertained all day. Entertainment was alright something different on everynight.

Reading the reports generated by numerous people on this website can be very concerning if you are waiting to visit the Club Excelsior, and we were apprehensive but pleasantly surprised.

We arrived at 12.15am, and noticed that the bar area was pretty busy but there was no entertainment going on. We found our room to be absolutely spotless, and in good overall condition considering the amount of guests who would obviously have used it, without having any respect for it being someone elses property. Just across the road towards Jimmy's Shop we found a nice little restaurant where we mnagaed to buy some food and grab a quick drink before settling down for the night, however we needn't have ventured out if we hadn't wanted to, as there were still food and drinks being served in the bar anyway.

On Tuesday morning, we had our welcome meeting with Emma, who had all the information we asked for, and even found out more for us when we requested it.

Days by the pool were meant to be family fun, and unless you cannot stand the thought of being entertained for free, I don't know how anyone could possibly complain. The staff, both bar and waiters, were friendly and helpful at all times, sometimes mad, but good on them considering the hours they all put in :) They were always busy, but still found time to be cheeky sometimes, and to turn on the charm and make you feel welcome. We didn't once feel intimidated or that any of them were too pushy, but if you want to lead them astray I bet they could easily be led ;)

We were 2 single girls of 35 and didn't know what to expect from the Excelsior, as it seemed to be very family orientated, lots of children, so for the first couple of nights we pretty much went our own way and dined in the surrounding area, where we found there were plenty of eateries to choose from, all of which seemed to have good service, and were resonably priced. We arranged a boat trip visiting the surrounding islands for the Friday, so thought better of going out, and chose to have a quiet night at the hotel.

We found that, everything you could possibly need or want could be found here, turkish bath, gym, sauna, designer clothes shop, jewellery, manicurist, hairdresser, tattooist..... So if you and your family are not happy to go far you really wouldn't need to, it's all there for you.

The entertainment, was great, nothing less than I would expect, and certainly a lot more than I have had in the past when I have taken my own children on holiday and paid for all inclusive....

The Restaurant was slightly more expensive than some of the surrounding ones, however it was presented much more nicely, and lots more of it, so you can't really compare. We ate at the hotel every evening once we realised this.

All in all, you will have a fun time at this hotel, and if it does happen to be a little too rowdy for you at times, then there are plenty of alternative places you can venture out to very close by.

For the younger travellers, it costs about 16lira to go to bar street by taxi, and there is a taxi rank just outside the hotel., We went in one night, but decided we were a little too old for it lol...

Thanks to everyone at the Excelsior and all of the staff for letting us enjoy a perfectly good relaxing holiday, with some good fun thrown in, We will return no doubt, next year, god willing....

Didnt expect to get a pool view room but we did!

No hassle from any staff, everybody friendly and easygoing. Could do whatever we wanted and no-body said anything. Staff very helpful.

Cant get the pool dance out of my head, pool comps were great! Entertainment alround was ok.. wasnt fantastic! Although I have to admit we didnt stay for the evening entertainment we went into the center of Marmaris where the nightlife is excellent, only a 10Min walk!

Food was good, breakfast there every morning, cant complain! Yusuf livened our morning up if you had a major hangover, which I did most of the time! I think he wanted to come back home with us as he kept shouting "ABERDEEEEEEN" to us!

Hotel was so good, booked for next year 3 days later!

My son (19), daughter (12) and myself (?) stayed in Excelsior Junior - small hotel with 40 rooms, pool, bar, restaurant etc. From the moment we arrived we were treated very well by all the staff, the pool / bar staff have excellent customer skills and we all enjoyed our stay.

Well done to Jesus and his team.

I thought the hotel was fantastic. I am was 14 when I went and was so happy with the pool and night life for teenagers.

Thought the rooms were very clean and even better as I was staying beside this girl that I liked and she liked me.

Anyway going back in 2007 26th June and can't wait to see everyone again and see Lisa again because shes going at the same time as me again.

We stayed at Exelsior in June 2006. Absolutly fab. Can't fault a thing.

This hotel was cleaned to a very high standard, the reception people were very helpful and there was someone there 24/7 to help. Really lovely people I could not find any faults at all with club excelsior.

So happy that wev'e booked to go back on the 14 July with 6 children can't wait!

What a great hotel. Lots to do and everything on site, Turkish baths, hairdresser, gym, jewellers, shop, internet, food, everything you could want.

Room excellent. Clean sheeets and towels 6 days out of 7. Staff very friendly. Only problem we had was the location as we are use to being nearer to the centre.

Great hotel for familes. I would visit this hotel as a late deal but as I said before it was too far from centre of town.

The hotel is clean and spacious and of a high standard.

Cooking facilities are not great however but adequate with a 2 ring hob and a microwave.

Air conditioning works perfectly and the maids are very friendly and helpful.

Very clean and friendly staff but thats about all I can say in all honesty.

This resort is EXTREMELY loud and from 12noon to 12 midnight you will hear well over the top loud club music. If you can relax on that then you'll enjoy but I assure you we couldn't. There's no escape if you have a poolside view apartment either. We hired a TV and the music level at 12noon was such that it was well above the volume of it, making it useless. The hotel opposite competes on the noise level and this starts a volume war that ends up where you have to shout to speak to your partner.

Entertainment was dire to say the least. There is a resident scouser man and woman team that truly feel that Brits love nothing more than bingo and open the box (Oh and there's karaoke too for the adventurous) and this forced us out. They even included this on their Turkish night which we walked out on in disbelief.

Food is below average and you'd be best advised eating out amongst the many bars and restaurants around the local area.

We would never go back to Excellsor as we found the whole experience far from relaxing (we went for 2 weeks and couldn't wait to get home).

You'll find the waiters pleasant but very pushy. We refused to eat or take part in their so called entertainment in the end as it was boring, repetitive and below standard and boy did they keep pulling us up on it, sometimes even keeping an eye on where we was going. It was very intimidating.

Location wise is not bad with dolmus just outside the resort to Marmaris central.

If you like club culture (by that I mean loud music, all day and night around the pool) you'll love it but for our family it was too much and forced us out each day to find quieter hotels that happily accepted us and our money.

If you haven't booked yet at Excellsor I would advise looking for many of the other excellent hotels in the area and avoid this at all costs.

We spoke to many around the poolside and there was not many happy with either the food, loud music or entertainment.

It's a shame as the place could be fantastic and very special.
