Hi there
We are going to Kos first 2 weeks in September - how hot will it be then
hopefully still very warm!!!!!
We went to Rhodes same time and it was still hot, but not sure about Kos.
Anyone been there at this time and this area advice welcome.
Also we are staying at Alice Springs Hotel in Lambi - can anyone advise on
which is best area of beach - for sand and no pebbles, is the sea clear, calm or choppy?
Do we need to walk away from town or nearer to town for best beach. Any advice on best beach bars for food, drinks, and those where sun-beds are free
All advice much appreciated.

We have just returned from the angela apartments in tingaki kos, and i must say that for the price that we had paid that it was well worth the money. We paid £500 for two people for one week. The apartments are clean. We did have a few concerns though:

The cleaner did not do a very good job, as she would hose down the floor tiles outside our room at 07:30am every morning splashing our door and waking us up (we set our alarm for 9:00), in doing this she sprayed the water under our door and abosolutley soaked our floor inside the apartment which we thought is quite dangerous as i am pregnant so me falling over would not of been the best end of our holiday(plus my husband would of hit the roof). The cleaner also only changed one of our bed, the bed are two single bed pushed together to make a double, which leaves a huge gap in between so you can sleep together as such as one of you would fall down tha gap, anyway the cleaner only changed the sheets on one of these bed as the other one had 3 items of clothing on, t-shirt, shorts and a kaftan and becasue this items were on the bed she could not ne bothered to move them to change the sheets so she left the dirty ones on. We acutally laughed at this as she would of been better off not changing any at all! Our balcony view was of the fire escape stairs which we were disapointed with. We were in room 50 which is next to the bar, but the music does get turned down after midnight so its not to bad, i do think that we did get the short straw with that room, but hey for the price its good.

The pool is way to small for the amount of rooms there are in these apartments, there are ony 15 sunbeds, but as it is an english accomodation there were no towles left on the sunbed while people when back to bed, actully most people when they had enough they took there towles and left the sunbeds free for others to use, well apart from two girls who just left there towles all day when they wernt even there, but you always get one that ruins it.

Tingaki is a great resort we loved it there so much that we are going aback in six weeks but we are not staying at the angela this time we checked out another apartment with a huge pool. The people of Kos are just so warm and friendly they are the nicest Greek people that we have meet out of the greek island that we have visited.

The beach is not so great as the sand is littered and they dont combe it each day,and the sea has about 8ft of seaweed you need to walk through before you get into the sea, so we spent our time round a pool.

I am travelling with my boyfriend to the Angela Appartments in Tingaki, Kos in September.

Really would like to know about prices of things in Tingaki, and Kos in general.
How much aprox are we likely to pay for a meal out? Maybe 2 course with a drink or 2?
What sort of prices are we looking at for day trips/excursions - obviously depends on where we want to go etc.

And does anyone know anything about the Angela Studios?

Would be really grateful for any information at all!

Thanks

Yes, thank you - did see one on there.
I am a bit concerned about food prices as we are self catering for 14 nights - and i don't actually want to cater for ourselves!!

Greece is no different to any other country in that it depends what you want to eat and where, by keeping away from the resort main areas and look for places used by the locals, meals will be a bit cheaper and probably better quality, staying around the resort will incur the penalty resort pricing

if you are party types then look for hotel or apartments in the village itself, and be aware some of the hotels quoted as being Kardamina are 3/4 miles away

Hi all

Thinking of Kos next year with 3 x 17 year olds and was wondering which resort is the best to provide some excitement for them but also a little bit of traditional for us oldies. We went to Sidari in Corfu this year and this was fantastic. Which area compares on Kos? Also like to go all inclusive - any ideas on suitable hotels?

Cheers

I am going to Tingaki in Kos in September and I fully intend to hire a car for a day or 2, to get to enjoy the Island fully.

I have hired a car for 4 days in Kefalonia and didn't really see any cause for real concern, to be honest, actually found most of the roads pretty quiet. As said above, just drive carefully and keep your wits about you!

I am going to Kos in September and am intending to hire a car for a day or 2. Basically want to see as much of the Island as possible while avoiding the day trip crowds.
Was wondering if anyone could suggest some nice places to go/see - maybe somewhere "unspoilt" that is a little out of the way. Also, would a car for a day be enough, or is there enough to see/do for 2 days hire?
Thanks

the best places to visit are

the village of Zia [book a tavern and watch the sunset]

the asplenium [remains of the hospital where hypocrites practised]

but the best days out are by boat
