Hello,
I notice you have posted a question back in Feb 08, although it doesnt look like you got a reply, about your forthcoming holiday to Mitsis family village, I know this may sound a bit cheeky, but we are thinking of booking and wondered if you could advise what its like.
Im looking at booking the superior family room, and Im rather hoping that these are the rooms which have steps into the pool, but cannot find out anywhere on the web.
We are a family of 4 and do want our kids to be somewhat separate to us.
Any help you can give would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Debby
can we get shampoo, conditioner etc and other general toiletries? And what sort of prices?
I want to avoid taking any more than i have too!
Thanks
I haven't been to Tingaki for about 6 years but at that time there was a really big Supermarket there. More like a small Hypermarket to be honest. It sold anything and everything. I hope you'll get a reply from someone who's been there more recently.
Thanks Shirley - that is great.
Has anyone stayed here? i have read that the swimming pool at Angela isn't that good - a bit on the small side.
Are there any other pools near by that are nicer, that we could use?
Thanks
littlemissmagic
hi little miss magic, we haven't stayed at the angela but the pool is right beside the road and is very small, don't know if you can use any other pool as where we stay it's residents only.
Also done the day trip to Bodrum, weather was dreadful and crossing was terrible, but the weather cleared up and we had a great day in Bodrum.
Enjoy!!!
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Any families visited kos this summer (resorts Tingkai / Kefalou) Any info on resorts as to if any good for children up to age of 13, much to do ??? Is there a waterpark in Kos??
Has anybody used Theokritos Travel in Tingaki? Would you recommend them?
Feel sorry for people who might not be so lucky.
My partner & I have just returned back from Kos 18/9 and really loved it. We stayed just outside Kos Town by Lambi Beach at the Pelagos Aparthotel. We hired bikes for the week and enjoyed cycling to Therma and Tingaki and cycled into Kos Town every evening it was great I recommend it. I also recommend a visit to Zia to see the amazing sunsets, a visit to Nisyros and the 3 island Cruise. We had fantastic weather around 30 degrees each day. All in All a brilliant holiday
Lovely hotel, good food, very clean with superb staff who were very helpful considering we had a baby of 9 weeks and a toddler of 14 months.
The pool and area was excellent with plenty of sunbeds under shady trees for those that just wanted to sit and read.
The only minus I would say was the extremely high prices charged for drinks in the hotel. £2.70 for a 1L bottle of water at dinner and £20 for a round of mostly soft drinks at the bar is just a blatant rip-off of customers.
We used to walk 1 minute down the road during the day and buy our drinks from a shop which would charge the same for 7 drinks that the hotel would want for 1.
Also on the last day we faced checking out at 10am but didn't have a return flight until 2am the following morning. We occupied ourselves just fine for the day round the pool and in the evening four of us went into the bar to watch a football match.
We bought four drinks but made them last virtually the whole match.
Cue the hotel manager who arrived in the bar and started having a go at the staff obviously because we had sat there for 90 minutes with the same drinks. The staff gave this pig of a man as good as they got to our defence.
In the end this idiot stomped out of the bar after stirring up all this trouble.
What he doesn't realise is that IF the prices in the hotel were lower his bar would actually be full which would further attract more people because of the atmosphere.
Four of us in an empty bar says it all really.
Anyways, first trip to Kos and we'd go again though not to the Continental unless they reviewed their pricing policy on inhotel drinks.
The airport was a complete shambles don't you think; Ten times more people than the airport can comfortably handle, nowhere to buy drinks/food etc.
Just managed to return from Kos this morning.Flew out with XL last Saturday night. After I heard the news I considered all my options.Fly Aegean airlines to Athens/Athens UK.Catch ferry to Rhodes fly Easyjet /London.But a chance call in to Kos airport,I learned of a Monarch/EuroAtlantic flight being laid on as replacement return back to UK.Cant fault the logistics The flight was only 3hrs later than original.
Feel sorry for people who might not be so lucky.
i'm going to Kos in October, hope the weather will be good :-) we are thinking of going to bodrum market for the day, is it worth it? some people have said that prices in turkey has increased so much now and its difficult to get a bargain in turkey now, if any of you have been recently and could give me some feedback on this i'd be grateful
thanks
If you go to the top of the topics column you will see the Topic Kos Q & A. If you go to page 7 I have written a piece about going to Bodrum Market. Having just returned from a holiday in Turkey(Hisaronu), yes, prices have gone up but it all depends how hard you want to haggle, there are still bargains to be had, even moreso now, as it is coming up to the end of the season. The dealers are going to want to get rid of their stock to make way for the new for the 2009 campaign.
I stayed in Mastihari many years ago and it was a nice, small resort. What is it like now? I know places sometimes change a lot over the years but I haven't heard much about Mastihari.
love it, we stay at panorama apts, we book direct via the owners at the tasty palace
thats it dirty deed done returning to the Agean Village Kardamina in may.. roll on
