hi everyone ,
its so exciting, it all seems so close now since christmas flew by.
i seem to be a bit behind i'm only trying on dresses now. iwas supposed to start looking after halloween( if i'd lost half a stone!!)
anyway the shop assistants were asking me to check how the dress will get to cyprus. what with all the new increases in security. can the dress hang covered or does it get packed in a box( crease nightmare!)if in a box i'd also be afraid they'd insist on opening it.
i'm flying from dublin, does anybody know?? also do we get extra baggage allowance and do we pay for it?
I would contact your airline and Tour Operator as they will vary im sure with the new regulations. My friend needs to find out too, she is flying with XL through Libra.
Make sure you get acid free box and acid free tissue paper if you are putting it in a box.

i got married on June 20th at 2pm - one of the hottest times if the day and the men all wore suites ....they were fine , may have got a bit hot but you re on holiday ...my groom had suite and waistecoat and we had about an hour of photos after and he wore it through that and didnt mind at all ....
.One way of seperating them could be to put the groom in all cream underneath to match you then put the colour of the bridesmaids for his flowers or mix it with cream .....then the father best man have them in a coloured waistecoat and tie and just plain flowers .....what colour are you getting married in?

Hi furball i got married on september 6th last year, we flew with first choice & we got extra baggage for the wedding clothes but i did have to ring the airline as they had to send me a letter out to show them at the airport that i was getting married. My dress was packed in a big suit case which the shop did for me, it only had a few light creases in which dropped out when i hung it up when i got to cyprus. My dress was packed in the suit case 4 days before we flew as the shop was closed due to the bank holiday, they packed it with so much tissue paper that there weren't many creases in it. Good luck stacey.
The manager was fantastic and was always on hand to answer any questions and was extremely helpful when three extra guests came along at the last minute and the staff were very helpful too.
We had about 20 people who came out with us and we chose to have our reception in the Mediterranean Suite, which was air conditioned and overlooked the sea. It was absolutely perfect and the food absolutely delicious. We were able to choose from four other rooms for the reception.
We couldnt have wished for a more idealic setting.
If you would like me to email a couple of pictures of the day, please dont hesitate to email me.
Also we had all the wedding proofs back by late evening! Which was fab, so many to choose from and ended up buying lots extra in the end rather than the 36 we originally paid for!!
thanks furball
My colour scheme is baby pink and brown. I will be wearing an ivory dress, so the groomsmen will be wearing ivory shirts, waistcoats and cravats with brown trousers. My H2B has decided to be slightly differant by wearing a brown cravat. The bridesmaids are in baby pink and to incorporate the pink the men will wear pink flower buttenholes.
I think most H2B want to look a bit differant to the others and by just changing either the colour of the cravat or waistcoat will be the easiest solution in keeping with the colour scheme.

Hi furball when i got married in september last year my husband wore an ivory suit with cream waistcoat & pink cravat, & my step dad, his friend & my father in law (bestman) all wore black pants, white shirt, cream waist coat & pink cravat. My husband only wore the jacket for when we got married which was about 20mins & for some of the photos. It was to hot to wear it any longer.
i plan to ring airline etc monday to enquire about my dress on plane. just wondering now about the suits you hired and bridesmaid dresses. i presume they each carried their own over. did you try to get extra baggage allowance for them too or just your dress.
we are getting maried in protaras on 27th aug 07, the groom is wearing a brown suit, ivory waistcoat, champagne cravet, the rest of the party ie sons, fathers and best man are wearing the same colour suit but with a champagne tie. bridesmaids are champagne. does anyone have any photos of weddings at the golden coast or the evandrea. good luck all other btb with your planning. xxxxx
I am planning to get married in the Grecian Bay Hotel in Ayia Napa on 13th April 2007 (yes this year ). Firstly does anybody have any experiences with weddings at the Grecian Bay?
Myself and my h2b are getting wed at 1pm so are just going to have a cocktail reception at the hotel and then hopefully have our reception at a local restaurant.
Does anybody know of a restaurant suitable enough? Do you think 4days notice is enough (there are only 20 of us)?
I know this is a stupid question of which i should know........but how long will a civil ceremony last??
OMG!!!! There is so mucc i need to sort. Please please help me!!!
Any stories, experiences or advice would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!!
Photos would be even better!!!

A civil ceremony should last you between 15-20 mins depending on the official if that.
As regards to a Restaurant I don't think you will have much trouble finding a place to accommodate you in April

I will be getting married at the Sunrise Beach in Protaras in July.
Has anyone else been married here ?
What should I expect ?

Sunrise Beach Hotel is a lovely hotel to get married in. You'll be really pleased. Haven't been on for a long time due to being mega busy. Hope everyone is well.
We're flying back out to Paphos on 1st June to renew our wedding vows on our 5th anniversary which is 4th June. Got the same chapel and the exact same time as 5 yrs ago!!! Got the headache of getting my dress over there as GB Airways hare changing their baggage policy as from 13th Feb. 1 bag per person only up to 23kgs (not multiple). They can't guarantee that I will be able to get my dress on the plane and have advised that I pack it well just in case it has to go in the hold. I said "but then I'll have to pay excess baggage allowance" to which there was no reply!! to GB Airways (BA really)
Got the villa sorted as well!!
Can't wait
Luv n stuff
