The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Not a massiver fan on the main shopping centre where all the bars and shops are... Found it a bit 'Blackpool ish and I suppose a bit rough. Although never felt unsafe anywhere in the resort. We personally found the waterfront and harbour areas much nicer. Shopping Centre dated and in need of bringing up to date.
Beach was lovely and very child friendly.

We ventured down to the main resort three times and took taxis. The beach was lovely and the sea was very child friendly, warm and shallow, quite a way out.
We took the glass bottom ferry to othe market and my little boy loved it, we even saw an octopus and lots of fish at the beginning of the trip and the end (when the boat was going slow)
The market was ok I'm sure I paid far too much for my goods - I was rubbish at haggling! I had to buy my son a jacket as I hadn't realised how cool it got in the evening.

Puerto Rico appeared to be a resort which is okay for sun lovers but not so good for shopping and entertainment. There did appear to be a significant amount of construction going on during our stay, but whether this will be enough to breathe new life into the resort only time will tell.

This is my favourite place to go in the world! And I should know, I've been to 15+ countries.
Very clean, safe and easy to get around. Entertainment is great! There are lots of great restaurants and bars! Loads of stuff for all ages. Two great beaches though I prefer the main beach...also I would recommend during the day to eat at the restaurants on the beach...great seafood and fresh fish!!! I love this place.

The resort itself was lovely and clean, i cant stress that enough, in fact, just yesterday morning there were lady cleaners out sweeping the streets, if anything it is the lazy tourists that go out there on holiday that make all the mess. The resort was full of entertainment, and had something for everyone. And i do mean, everyone. The beaches were beatiful, clean and there were shops close by and on the beach for ice cream, gifts, and a chemist right on the front too. I have nothing bad to say. It was a lovely place to go, knowing that everything was so easy to reach from our apartment. Thankyou, Peurto Rico.....

Balito Beach is very sparse. It is pebbles and deserted, so if you do go there, take your fishing rod and a good pair of shoes, cos the rock pools are ace! Anfi is much nicer. Didnt go onto Puerto Rico Beach. As for Puerto Rico, I wouldn't go back if you paid me. The touts for restaurants are a nightmare. We have travelled all over Spain, andgo around 3/4 times a year, we also speak basic Spanish and I have never been treated so rudely. One tout told me' to go home to England cos we dont want your sort here'. This was because I didnt want to look at the menu! This is not Spain, it is a Shopping Centre with beer fuelled lager louts in mind. I walked through with my 2 and 3 yr olds and couldnt wait to get out. However, if you ask to go to the Harbour there is a complex where there are some lovely restaurants, and a good chinese called the Great Wall (very apt).
I would go back to Gran Canaria, but Anfi, Arguineguin are much friendier.

Not the prettiest of resorts but the rest of Gran Canaria is easily accessible. Has entertainment to suit every one and you can eat in cheap steakhouses or lovely sea front fish restaurants!! Definitely worth a visit!

Peurto Rico is a purpose built resort, so if you are looking for a bit of Spanish culture & charm you won’t find it here. It is very built up & commercialised. Everyone raves about the “Centre” but they are just a lot of shabby shops selling shoddy goods & a they all seem to buy from the same supplier! If want a beer, burger & loud music night out then at night I am sure you will love it.
You can walk along the cliff path to Amadores which is a prettier & quieter beach. Both beaches are very clean & they work hard to keep it that way. We took a boat trip to Mogan, for the market on Friday, which is a very pretty port & much more “Spanish”
We did have a good holiday, but we won't be going back to the Rio Piedras Apartments or Peurto Rico.
