The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

It's obvious an effort is being made to make PR attractive for tourists and its kept pretty clean and tidy. There's lots of entertainment in both Commercial and Europa Centres although more for the grown ups and not so much for the kids. The beach I went to was at Amadores and it's superb with good eating places round about too.
PR is not my favourite holiday resort but we're going again this year for the third time as our spring/autumn holidays are for the weather and we're pretty well guaranteed it there.

There are 2 main beaches in puertorico,we never visited the main beach,we went to the other beach which is realy nice, and well kept 2.50 eurose for a sunbed 50 extra for the umberella,it was worth it,although one day it was pretty windy,he must have known this at the time, well they kept announcing that all umbrellas must be kept down dew to high winds,so we coulndn't use it,a bit annoying. We had a very nice lunch in a beachside restaraunt ( a bit pricy)but i thought it was well worth it.Oh AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE LOOS.
Touts, touts and more touts - people nagging you all the time to go in their bars or eating places. Taxis mega cheap, beach nice and clean.
To eat out and drink very very cheap. Resort built for tourist's - no charm. Marina nice.
Advice - hire a car, very cheap, see rest of grand carina. Bought a cheap digi camara saved 100 pounds but got to haggle.

Puerto Rico was a very nice resort to visit.Too many Timeshare reps accosting you every 50 yds. Lots of good restaurants and friendly people.
We have been to gran canaria 5 times and are goin again in 2 weeks to the babalu (hope its as good as puerto feliz)but we are goin back there in august) we love gran canaria or shall i say puerto rico we never go anywere else!! there aqua park is lovley and the comercial center fabulous as when you get there you can vist las vegas (steak house) and many others and also kiddys bars like tropicana (for 5-8 year olds and famliy) and then there is harleys (nightclub) and many more. also la fiesta one of are personal favourites (For famliys) then the europa center. ignore what most people say it is great up there well worth a vist. if you arent stayin near it, it doesnt cost musch for a taxi
Puerto Rico was bigger than expected and theyre still building! Beach is ok but not huge. Most beaches there are smallish coves. Very clean though and plenty shops/restaurants close by. We walked round to Amadores beach most days. Further 15 min walk but along lovely cliffviews and quieter. (except at weekends when all the locals descend on the beach!) Cafe del mar there has some great food to enjoy while watching the sunset behind Tenerife.
There's alot of restaurants/pubs catering for mainly British in the main big shopping centre in Puerto Rico. Not all offer great food. Most have the same menu..steak n chips, this and chips, that and chips etc. Much better & local fresh food served in the places down at the beach/harbour front. Highly recommend Oscars for some delicious food & cosy atmosphere. El Tiburon did fantastic paella & seafood.
Hire a car if you can and see abit of the real Canarian countryside too.

we have been to puerto rico several times now and keep going back as the beach is spotless the locals are freindly and it has a good selection of pubs and clubs to suit everybody and to top it off it has the sun all year round
Puerto Rico is a nice place but I am glad we stayed at the top. The main commercial centre is very lively and busy, but you are constantly be bugged by people to get you into there resturants and there is the looky looky men to buy some dodgy watches.
The Europa center is a much smaller and better place everything you need bars, resturants, shops, and arcades and just a couple of minutes away from the Eden.
The one place I would recommend is Manolos resturant on the ground floor Food is great, service great and so I am told the milkshakes are the best I just stuck to the beer. The water park in Maspolmas is a must as well good day out.

Very pretty resort. Lots to do and places to eat and drink.
very cheap, pint of lager either 1 or 1.5 euros. Cross section of english and spanish bars.
Beach surprisingly quiet for August, was busier in February.

I feel there is something for everyone in puerto rico, whether it be going for a nice meal, a quiet drink, a busy bar, or a disco. During the day there is plenty going on particularly water sports, and ferrys which take you to neighbouring beaches/resorts. The beaches in the area are lovely
