The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Puerto Rico is lovely. Bustly but not to lively.
You do get hassled to buy things but we just ignored.
Amadores is the best kept secret in Gran Canaria. THe beach is fabulous. White sands, clear blue seas and great resturants

Puerto Rico was very clean, the beach was very full, but I we never saw any litter. There was plenty of entertainment in the various bars and resteraunts and we will definatley be visiting again.

Puerto Rico is a lovely resort. The Centre comercial boasting a wide variety of shops, retaraunts, pubs and clubs. The main beach alongside the harbour is nice but for serious sun worshipers I would recomend amadores beach. You can get there by bus or taxi both excellenty priced. There you can find beachside restarauynts as well as shops for you to peruse when it gets too hot. The sun beds are reasonably priced at 2 euros for the day. If your looking for a quiet night then I would advise to venture to the top of the hill to the Europa center where most of the family bars are situated and are open throughout the day until 12am. If your up for a real party then the Centre comercial at the bottom of the hill is the place to be. Lots of themed bars with two for 1 offers but watch out coz they charge a bucket for your drinks after the first - Quick tip move from bar to bar after your first purchase is safetly down the hatch! Good bars: Linecares, My personal fave Jokers (6 Euros to enter after 11, only 2 before. Drinks are really cheap and it's open until 6am, You have your hand stamped on entering and can leave and return if you want - quick tip go there first to get your stamp at the cheap price have one drink then go and come back later when its a bit fuller.) At the harbour you can engage in all types of water sports from the big bannana to parasailing and close by is the lovely Amadores beach, this is most popular with sun worshipers and sunbeds are reasonably priced at 2 euros for the day, plenty of shops, bars and restaraunts beach side.

Vallemar is right in the center which is perfect if you wnt to be next the the bars and restaraunts! However the beach is quite a walk.
We spent most of our evenings in Dicey O Reillys Irish bar. As well as entertainment every night (which was suprisingly good!) they have kareoke later on too!
The food in the entertainment center is excellent and so cheap. From £3 mixed grills (at the steak house on the ground floor at the front of the centre) to the £3 all you can eat Chinese buffet on the 1st floor at the back of the centre! It may be all you can eat, but the quality of this food and the service made us venture back there time and time again!
Whilst Puerto Rico beach is nice, we spent most of our beach days at Anfi del mar, an absolutley amazing beach and Marina just a 10 minute taxi ride away. You feel like your in Monaco there with Gucci, Rolex and many other designer shops too! It also has bars and restaraunts on the front with water sports.
We visited the water park in Maspalomas 'Aqua Sur' which was amazing! It has so many slides and a heated pool to chill out in too. The best slide in one where 6 of you can fit into a ring and go down a huge bumpy slide together! Going back to Puerto Rico on Monday (6th March) can't wait!

Puerto Rico on the whole is a fairly clean place, however the main shopping center needs some attention,it's all got a bit old and is in need of redecoration,we tend to stick to going to the europe centre, which is a much newer shopping center.Would recommend Barbacoas up at the europe center for good entertainment,or Murphy's bar at the main shopping center for good live music.
The main beach in Puerto Rico has everything you could want from a beach, the new beach Amadoras is much quiter, and is more taylored to German visiters. However worth a visit there are plenty of nice resturants on the beach offering local dishes. If you like nice food (not burgers and chips!!)then visit Canaria Uno resturant in Arginegan which is about a 10minute taxi ride from puerto Rico and costs about 10 euros. All the taxi drivers know it as that's were alot of the locals eat. They do a mean Paella and great seafood.

We have been to Gran Canaria, Puerto Rico for the last five years we love this resort.
We know it well and know all the best places to visit eg-food and drink places. If you fancy a quieter night you are better off sticking with the europa centre which is more family orientated.
There are lots of restaurants and bars to choose from both at the europa centre and the main centre which is located at the bottom of the hill whereas the europa centre is located at the top.
Taxis are always available at reasonable prices to get up and down the hills which are packed with hotels and apartments. The main centre is lively and is good if you want a good boozy night out however there are still pubs to go to if you are wanting a quieter more relaxed night. We think Puerto Rico is fantastic and caters for all ages although is not very good for the less mobile.
In the main centre located at the bottom there is an aqua park which serves lovely food all day long at reasonable prices. A fun day out for all the family, or a relaxing one if you feel like soaking up the sun. The beaches are really nice especially amadores beach.
There is always lots going on at Puerto Rico. We can only say good things about it. A 'must' place to visit.

Everyone has their own taste and this was'nt ours. You constantly get hassled when you go to the centres.
The place is ok but nothing to brag about I'm afraid.
