Blue star is situated close to europa centre which has plenty bars etc
If you want a change you can go down town to commercial centre 5min in taxi £ 2
Old beach of puerto rico has boat trips, jet ski, fishing etc
New beach altamar has good restuarants.
both beaches are clean and have adequate loungers etc

The resort itself we really loved. I think it is one of my favourite places. Really clean and the entertainment is great. No loud gangs of girls or guys! The beach is also very nice. I did hear it is getting slightly more expensive but it is worth it. Eating out was really cheap - 5 euro for an all you can eat buffet at the chinese in the commerial centre. or maybe about 30 - 40 euro for a 3 course meal for two at the steakhouse!
Peurto Rico also has it's own water park - but the reps don't tell you this as they try to sell you a trip to another water park. I loved the one in Peurto Rico - it wasn't too crowed and you can buy your tickets at the booths arround the commerical centre - it is a lot cheaper than the trips the reps are selling.
I would also recommend going to the marina and going on your boot trip from there - again much cheaper than what you will pay through the reps!
I would most certainly visit Peurto Rico again.

Great place to stop, we were quite high up so it was quite a walk down to the beach but a taxi only costs 3 euros.Commercial centre was good lots more choice of restaurants and shops, found nice restaurant called San Miguel, excellent food.
At europa centre lots of people touting for you to go in their restaurant which is a bit of a pain.
Lots of camera video shops but be sure to haggle the price, we bought a sony mini disc player and got it for a really good price.

best bar most absolutely, xtreeemz.russ the dj brilliant,funny,irreverant very un-pc makes everyone welcome but dont tell him if you support that team from highbury he will rib you rotten and you wud deserve it!
he has one drawback he's a spurs fan,but we've never met a nicer one, go to xtreemz it is da bomb,you wont walk out too steady for sure!resort is pretty tidy no need to throw litter, plenty of bins. amadores beach quite nice, safe water plenty of sunbeds,shops and bars,nice and clean as are all the puerto rico beaches.we have decided to return next due to the fact we had a bloody good time.

The beach was breathtaking, beautiful white sand, didn't visit puerto rico beach, too much to do, so little time. We went to the adjoining beach using our hired car, it was something beginning with an 'A' but i can't remember for the life of me what. Made from caribbean sand, and parasols and loungers were reasonably priced.
Whatever you do, once your in the main shopping area, make sure you visit HARLEYS-DANCING on the 2nd floor, its THE best club/bar there, we stayed in there most nights, and the staff are extremely friendly.

When we arrived at 7.30 p.m. the resort was alive. My husband and i exchanged glances as the sight of all the flashing neon lights and loud music isn't really our cup of tea. But we were pleasantly surprised that there were quite a few nice restaurants. The worse thing in an evening is everyone and i mean everyone from every bar/restaurant are desperate for your custom. My daughter who is 14 was nearly pulled in without us! We enjoyed 3 restaurants (we tried a different one each night and stayed for 7) The first night we had McDonalds which was surprising nice as they served beer! I don't usually like Mcs. Another favourite was Winston Churchills. Bubbles was excellent (at the bottom of some stairs) this one is next to another, in fact they share the same floor but i cant remember the name, the waiter didn't have a wine list there and i think he just made up the price depending on the customer, the food was o.k. Another good restaurant was near the crazy golf and behind Mcs i think it was called something like Bolero. They had singers some evenings and people did dancing. We booked this restaurant as it gets full quickly. We enjoyed the marina and managed to escape the ticket touts but they do bring out the worse in you, but it is worth it to get rid of them! My favourite place was Puerto Morgan just up the coast but Puerto Rico does cater for everyone and of course when you get excellent weather all year round everywhere seems a better place!

Absolutely loved Puerto Rico. Loads to do, beach was very clean with lots of lovely restaurants on the front. Food was much nicer here than in the Commercial centre.

The resport was a lot like Great Yarmouth on drugs. It was full of neon signs and bars and english food. It was the kind of resport where the 18 to 30 group would have loved, as there was lots of bars selling cheap drinks, but thats about all I could say on it. The one thing it did have was ok beaches.
