Lots of places to eat outside resort.
Recommend going Bed and Breakfast, ignore half board option.
Do not book April, May, June as 80 percent closed with only one restaurant on offer.

Block 9027 is central and near to hub of hotel.
Don’t stay here. I would stay under a rock on the beach in Playa Blanca over this.

If you can afford it, get a suite. Overlooking the pool and the sea - perfect!

My top-rated restaurants are Camel, Bodegon Las Tapas, La Romantica, and Ninen.

Avoid altogether. Vastly overpriced.
2* - being generous. A very large ‘holiday camp’.
Pool areas fine except for other guests! Ring-fencing areas, playing loud music on portable speakers. No consideration for anyone. Vulture behaviour for sun beds ? Up at the crack of dawn we assume?
Altogether awful- unless you have very low expectations and this is your idea of holidaying, which amazingly seems to suit many of the ‘Indiscerning’ guests. Very disappointed with Althams and Jet2 for recommending.

Beaches

Playa Blanca is a relatrively quiet resort, centred around families. It is a good base for visiting the island by hire car, yet there are some wonderful beaches nearby, particularly at Papagayo and adjacent. There is some construction work ongoing and clearly there will be a lot more happening over the years to come, based on the recently constructed roads and infrastructure which is apparent.

the resort is only small but had all you needed lovely beach with white sand it was cleaned every night. plenty of restaurants and bars and really friendly waiters you must go to the jumbo Chinese right on the front lovely.

We stayed in the Rubicon marina area of Playa Blanca which was very upmarket compared to PLaya Blanca itself which i found to be your typical tacky holiday resort! Gorgeous marina with wonderful sea views, perfect for sitting by the sea watching the ships come in and out. We found Lani's snack bar to be one of the best there pricewise but nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Some other nice restaurants including italian and tapas but could be expensive. Nice shops in the marina area, would recommend Fund Grube for all perfume etc. All in all fantastic clean, upmarket and stylish resort one to 100% go back to.

playa blanca is clean and being at the south of the island is blessed with an excellent climate.there are plentiful bars and restaurants.the new rubicon marina at the far side of the town has bowling and more restaurants-we thought it over commercialised and not in keeping with the area.the beaches are man made but nice, but if you like going in the sea (atlantic ocean) then it is warmest in september and october.have been to lanzarote several times and we have booked again for 2009.

Nice clean beach at Playa Blanca, with designated Swimming area.
The Powerhouse Rock bar is worth a visit for live rock music in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

no traffic to contend with at the beach and you can stroll for miles along the promenade

Playa Blanca is really quiet and more geared up to having nice meals out rather than going nightclubbing, which was fine as we wanted a quiet holiday. The beach is man-made, golden sand and very nice. Plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. Also, as it’s quieter you don’t get hassled by timeshare people or dodgy watch sellers etc. As for Lanzarote as a whole, we did the island tour excursion where they take you to the top of the Timanfaya volcano and later in the day you visit Jameos del Agua which is a kind of underground cavern with a lake inside – may not sound interesting but it really is a fascinating and beautiful place. We also went for a day’s sailing on the Rubicat catamaran (which leaves from the marina outside the hotel) – excellent day with plenty of sunbathing, scenery and free lunch and drinks. Don’t know if it’s the same all year round but at the moment they charge one adult half price and kids are apparently free, so it’s pretty good.

Excellent resort. We have been to Playa Blanca before and will no doubt return in the future. Just enough going on but don't visit if you are expecting non stop partying. Lovely for families and older people but would not suit the 18 - 30 set!

Playa Flamingo beach has lost its break waters over the last couple of years, and so alot of the beach has been washed away. It will be interesting to see if the beach is restored to its former glory.
We still love this part of Lanzarote because of the low key pace of life. If you prefer a holiday with lots happening, and endless "English pubs" then Playa Blanca is not for you. (Try Porto del Carmen).
We will definately visit these apartments again.

Playa Blanca itself is a smashing little resort with numerous bars & shops. During our visit it was 'carnival' for 4 nights but everywhere was spic & span by the following morning.

Avoid unless 2* makes you happy. Sadly- it clearly does for many guests.
