Lots of places to eat outside resort.
Recommend going Bed and Breakfast, ignore half board option.
Do not book April, May, June as 80 percent closed with only one restaurant on offer.

If you can afford it, get a suite. Overlooking the pool and the sea - perfect!

My top-rated restaurants are Camel, Bodegon Las Tapas, La Romantica, and Ninen.

Avoid altogether. Vastly overpriced.
2* - being generous. A very large ‘holiday camp’.
Pool areas fine except for other guests! Ring-fencing areas, playing loud music on portable speakers. No consideration for anyone. Vulture behaviour for sun beds ? Up at the crack of dawn we assume?
Altogether awful- unless you have very low expectations and this is your idea of holidaying, which amazingly seems to suit many of the ‘Indiscerning’ guests. Very disappointed with Althams and Jet2 for recommending.

Beaches

We only visited the beach once, but it was very clean and you didn't get pestered by fruit sellers etc, which makes a nice change. The water is very cold, but very clear and you can feed the fish with bread and they swim around your feet, the kids love it.
There are plenty of great restaurants along the beach front. We really liked restaurant playa blanca, the staff were great, had great fun teaching the kids spanish and having a joke with them, and if the kids didn't like the dish they ordered they would give them another one no charge! Also Tipico Canario was excellent, you must try the t-bone steak-huge!!!! Also the stroganoff is excellent.

Playa Blanca quite quiet with not a lot to do in the evening. Shops close quite early in the evening except restaurants. Harbour very picturesque, car hire very cheap.

Resort great. Plenty of restaurants. Reasonable prices. Very little entertainment as such - or we didn't see any. Nicest beaches not very acessible. Nearest beach got very crowded.
Hire car/push bike if you like beaches.

Excellent and beautiful resort!!!!! Our first visit to Lanzarote and would now return year after year..... The entertainment in the resort was great with enough bars and restaurants to choose from without it being over commercialised(?) No timeshare touts that we saw anyway and that can only be a big positive in the canaries. Beach was brilliant and the sea was so clean that your could see the fishes on the sea shore around your feet, excellent for snorkelling too. Never saw any litter about the place but never saw anyone cleaning up either!!! All in all a wonderful hoiliday and I would advise any family thinking of a holiday in the canaries to consider Playa Blanca as it was just perfect for our family and we have travelled many times to many resorts but this has to be one if not the best holiday / resort that we have have ever had.

Playa Blanca is great, we've been before, so knew our way around. The Marina Rubicon is lovely, there are some lovely tavernas that sell tapas etc, a nice way to relax after a walk. We bought bread and fed the fish - we even saw a Baracuda swimming around. The main sea front, the opposite way to the Marina is also great, huge choice of restaurants, the best for us was the Canaria Tippa (think that's what it's called), our son loves the Jumbo Chinese and there's another place a bit further down (can't remember name), but it does lovely steaks and meat selections you can cook yourself on hot plates, also a lovely Italian set back slightly from the road, great fish dishes and pasta.

Being in the south, car-hire is required in order to tour the entire island and resorts. The landscape is poor, simply because it consists of lava fields and lava cones...o.k. if you like that kind of thing!
Good selection of car-hire in the town.
Handy for the ferries to and from Fuertuventura.

Playa Blanca is a very small resort with two beaches a harbour and a marina. It is very pretty and well kept. It is definitely not the resort to go to if you want to be partying til the early hours, there are no nightclubs (or if there is they are well hidden). Most activity is on the sea front with a few bars and restaurants but worth going to look around. The resort has a very nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Only 10 minutes from seafront and lots or eating places on the front.(try China City - yes I know eating Chinese in a Spanish resort may not sound quite the thing - but the staff are so friendly they knock spots off all the others and a lot of the customers seemed to return many times)We didn't sample the entertainment as we went out of peak season and wanted a quiet holiday. All places were open.

Avoid unless 2* makes you happy. Sadly- it clearly does for many guests.
