If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

The resort is clean and tidy, you get the usual whiff from the drains as you do in any foreign country but nothing drastic.
So much to choose from in terms of pubs and restaurants I would imagine there wouldn't be anyone who couldn't find a bar or restaurant to there liking.
Although we tend to prefer the poolside we did have a walk along the promenade and the cleaniness of the beach was evident. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas to hire.
We would definately go back to Puerto del Carmen (hopefully soon!) there is a very peaceful vibe about the place. Maybe it was the time of year that made it so peaceful as I would think at the height of the season it will be full of youngsters but that wouldn't put us off trying it at that time. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The resort was lovely, nice clean and well maintained. Pool area always nice and clear. Quiz night on a Wednesday and BBq a big hit with everyone a chance to meet others on the resort. New world Chinese Restaurant a place to eat, excellent and we also found a little bistro by the shopping mall definitely worth a second visit. The holiday makers and the residents on the complex are so friendly and make everyone welcome.

Much improved since our last visit 2 years ago. The sea front area now has a lovely long promenade and cycle track. The shops and restaurants are plentiful with all types now available, tex mex in particular. Strange to see only one of the Lani's chain of restaurants still there towards the old town.

brilliant time here night life wicked and lots of bars. lots of shops to look in and the beach is very good just watch out for the sand its very hot hot hot even got 2 life gaurds looking out for you. we were told by out rep not to eat at any slowboat chinease for meals slow service and cold meals. we ate at hong kong opp. casino and food is 5star also 5.50euro for 3 courses and you got to try Pinocchio`s for your pizza and pasta meals they are the best about. for some home cooked pub grub go to the drop in irish bar just of the front and just up the road to spenders for a large beer for 2euro

Lovely resort, about 15 mins drive from the airport. We stayed in the old town, right above the port which is a bit run down now however the restaurant around the harbour serve really fresh fish and the small beach is gorgeous and excellent for snorkelling and swimming.
The main strip by the huge and really clean and well looked after beach is heaving with restaurants, bars and night clubs. It looks like some money has been spent in reccent years to seriously spruce the area up as the beach front is a pleasure to look at and walk along. There are several taxi ranks and you can get around very very cheaply. The variety of food on offer is very good with lots of bars offering live music and drink offers.
There is a massive shopping centre (Biosphera) and a regular bus service to Arrecife.

Apart from a couple of broken pavements which lend to the charm of the resort, I have found that Peurto del Carmen is a charming traditional resort. There is a varied entertainment to suit any taste. Both Playa Grande and Playa Chica have been awarded blue flag status which speaks for itself.

Puerto del carmen Lanzarote has changed alot. Its been 16 years since I last visited and found it had geared itself more to the fish and chips, tourist shops, and many many bars. Not for me I prefer a bit more tradionnal and less Blackpool !
The beaches are not the best and it is always very windy and hot. If you like Irish Bars visit the Old Town but be prepared your legs will be aching as it is very hilly !

The resort of puerto Del Carmen is cleanand tidy, workmen are constantly tending to the neat gardens and sweeping the paths. Night life would suit all ages, theres plenty of club life for those who want to party late at night. For the older generation theres good bars and loads of resturants. In the day the beach is not packed and is very clean. I've visited this resort about 10 times and dont intend stopping.
