If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

In one word Excellent. Plenty to do and see. Loads of good restaurants, bars etc. Good value for money, and the weather is fantastic.

marvellous---something for everyone, when we were there it was a mixture of ages in most of the pubs we were in. lots to do, lots of trips available to suit everybody. book them direct from either your reception or a company called last minute (i think), the rep prices are shocking!!!!

The resort is really nice, loads of bars, restaraunts to choose from. To suit all prices. The apts are situated on the edge of the new town/old town so very easy to walk to both. If you feel you want to go further into the resort the taxis are very cheap compared to Ireland anyway. The most we paid was 2.90/3.00 and that was to go from the apartments to Matagorda.
We loved Quintans Restaurant, different, at the roundabout for Biosfera turn right and 5 min walk. You would want to be very hungry going there. The deserts were to die for.
I loved Lanzarote, I would go back there tomorrow. I would stay in El Dorado again.

We really like Puerto del Carmen have been now 5 times. Find it very clean and the people very friendly. The good thing is it is mostly all flat so no hills to climb!

The resort (Puerto Del Carmen) is fantastic. The italian restaurant next door to the Barcarola club apartments is superb. The food is really nice there. The italian restaurant is called Antica Trattoria. There is loads of Perfume shops which are really cheap. The resort is clean with a variety of things to keep you occupied .There is a bus stop just outside of the apartments which takes you to the harbour or to the shopping centre which is graet. In the shopping centre there is a Zara which is also cheap.

Very impressed with beach very clean You get good entertainment. A local lady comes round offering you massages her name is maria massage she thinks she is the most famous on the beach but will con you out of money but funny to listen to.
The men that come round selling friut and icecream and fruit are very freindly and very funny. Sun loungers can be expensive 5 euros a day if thers two eight euros between you.
Next to our appartment was jinty mcintys a very freindly irish bar does great karoke and we met some nice bar staff who were very freindly and made us welcome during our stay.
We considered it our local popping in for a drink everynight on the way back. Had a very good shopping center which did clothes like zara and mango good affordable prices.
Taxi 2 euros from where we were. They also had burger king which came in very handy especially when you had not ate 4 2 days.
Also at the shopping centre they had a nice italian resturant with freindly waiters who worked very hard reasonable price very good food.
I would go Back to puerto del carmen as there was lots to do in the town and lots of good treny bars up the main beach front.

For late 30s people this is not an ideal resort unless you enjoy holidaying with teenagers (no offence). There are plenty of bars but unfortunately nearly all very cheesy.
Lots of restaurants but quality not there. Not as cheap as expected. Plan to take at least £350.00 if you want to eat and drink out all the time .
The old town was the highlight really - originall and qaint.

Its a very lively resort, not ideal if you're after a quiet stay!
You do get a lot of touts outside all the clubs/ bars trying to entice you in with offers of buy one get one free offers. All a rip off - the glasses are taller and thinner and full of ice.... and they also judge you on how drunk you appear to be - the drunker you are, the more ice in your drink.
They even cross the road to get you if you walk on the beach side to get avoid them!
Try Route 66, a great open style bar, not a 'bogof' but you get 'spanish' measures!
Also try at the bottom of the hill from the apartments and across the road the 'Golden Corner cocktail bar' - the best cocktails ever! and lovely waiters!!
One moan about the beach was the price of the beds :- 8 euros' for 2 including a sun brolly, fairly reasonable (although free at the apartments so can add up if you go every day!), problem is there were 3 of us in our party and we had to pay for 4 beds as they come in 2's... quite expensive at 16 euros!
Apart from that, nice clean beaches, friendly ice cream sellers etc etc..

We love Lanzarote especially Puerto Del Carmen, I have been there at least 7 times now, it's such a relaxing island, the entertainment is spot on. Lots of different resturants & bars to suit everyone taste, not at all roudy.
Beaches are good!
