Lots of places to eat outside resort.
Recommend going Bed and Breakfast, ignore half board option.
Do not book April, May, June as 80 percent closed with only one restaurant on offer.

If you can afford it, get a suite. Overlooking the pool and the sea - perfect!

My top-rated restaurants are Camel, Bodegon Las Tapas, La Romantica, and Ninen.

Avoid altogether. Vastly overpriced.
2* - being generous. A very large ‘holiday camp’.
Pool areas fine except for other guests! Ring-fencing areas, playing loud music on portable speakers. No consideration for anyone. Vulture behaviour for sun beds ? Up at the crack of dawn we assume?
Altogether awful- unless you have very low expectations and this is your idea of holidaying, which amazingly seems to suit many of the ‘Indiscerning’ guests. Very disappointed with Althams and Jet2 for recommending.

Beaches

We only went in to Playa Blanca twice. Once to the beach and once for a walk around.
It was very clean with a few shops, restaurents, and taverns.
The beach is a lovely sandy beach with lots of sunloungers and spotlessly clean.
We probably wouldn;t go bakc to Playa Blanca again, purely because we have been there now and like to try different places.

Playa Blanca is a lovely little town with excellent beach. Beautiful blue sea which is surprisingly warm. There are places to each along the sea front and I can recommend the Chinese (China City) Restaurant. This was excellent best food we ate there 4 times! Also Contin the Restaurant rather than cafe. It was abit more expensive but the food is Top Quality.

The resort of Playa Blanca was very clean, nice harbour, some lovely shops as well as the usual touristy ones.Market a couple of times a week. Can't say much about the resort entertainment as we stayed in the hotel of an evening.
Nice clean beach with usual banana boats and paragliding, for the kids, trampolines with harnesses 5euros for 8 mins. Would go back again to this resort.

This resort is ideal for couples and families.
If your looking for boozy party nights then don't come here. Although there are lots of bars and restaurants to create a nice holiday atmosphere.
The beaches and promanade are beautiful.
Our favorite place was The Marina Rubicon.
We fell in love with Playa Blanca and will definatly be going back.

Playa Blanca is a nice resort if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. The small beach soon gets full so if you like lovely beaches this is not for you. Most hotels are based either side of the resort centre.

The resort is the best on the island unlass you want pubs and clubs but for us old folk 42 it was perfect. A good beach in the town but there a few good spots within walkind distance. Yes we would be happy to visit the resort again.

Playa Blanca has an excellent range of restaurants and bars along a promenade at the seafront, plus some on the road behind this. Look out for bars on the 1st floor, accessible from the road behind, some of which have excellent views across the bay, but aren't so obvious when you are browsing.
The marina is about 10-15 minutes walk from the end of this, and has some smarter looking restaurants. Our experience was that the restaurants at the marina were more expensive but the food was not as good as the ones along the main prom, but in a lovely setting.
The harbour was a dissapointment; Playa Blanca is described as "once a fishing village". Maybe it once was, but the harbour is now more of a small docks or ferry terminal than anything attractive. There are no cosy bars or fish restaurants nearby.
Away from the seafront, the whole resort just comprises block after block of hotels & apartments, with no bars away from the main seafront areas. Many hotels & apartments are a fair walk from the nearest shops or bars, so you have to wlak the same route back and forth every day of the holiday. They are building the town further inland and this is going to be a big issue for many accomodations. Take walking boots rather than flip-flops!
The beaches in & close to the town are poor. Papagayo beach is a long hike away (realistcally, a taxi ride). If you want to sit on a beach all day, don't go to Playa Blanca! Mind you, there's not much else to do there.
All Playa Blanca offers really is a good selection of bars & restaurants. Most hotels & apartment complexes looked quite good, so you either spend most of your time around your accomodation or hire a car & explore the rest of the island (which should take about 2-3 days). There's no "old town" etc to explore, just block after block of hotels & apartments that all start to look the same after a while. The town has no character atall.

Playa Blanca is a fairly standard 'Spanish' resort. Fair share of standard bars and restaurants. The new Marina area is very nice if some way outside the main area(15 minute walk). Very high quality of restaurants and bars here which I am sure will develop into a busy and thriving area.

It always seemed very hot on the beach even when cold in the complex.
At the Beach you will always come back with a tan.
The toilets at the beach will cost you 40 cent.
Shopping centre is quite nice with some nice places to eat.
Careful when asking shop keepers how much something is as they bully you into buying something. I had one shop keeper in a camera shop ask me why I was wasting his "Beeping" time after asking how much a tripod was and then he began hassling me. Usual dirty looks from shop owners if you ask how much something is then walk away. Most were ok though. You can get a Burger king chicken burger for 2 Euros and lovely ice cream for 1 euro but for the burger make sure you ask for the one in the window otherwise they give you one for 4 euros.
It costs 10 euros for a banana boot ride, but take some goggles for the spray its terrible!
Very scenic resort with great beach.

Set 20 min walk from hotel. Taxi only 4 euros and 2 minutes away from Playa Blanca.
