Lots of places to eat outside resort.
Recommend going Bed and Breakfast, ignore half board option.
Do not book April, May, June as 80 percent closed with only one restaurant on offer.

If you can afford it, get a suite. Overlooking the pool and the sea - perfect!

My top-rated restaurants are Camel, Bodegon Las Tapas, La Romantica, and Ninen.

Avoid altogether. Vastly overpriced.
2* - being generous. A very large ‘holiday camp’.
Pool areas fine except for other guests! Ring-fencing areas, playing loud music on portable speakers. No consideration for anyone. Vulture behaviour for sun beds ? Up at the crack of dawn we assume?
Altogether awful- unless you have very low expectations and this is your idea of holidaying, which amazingly seems to suit many of the ‘Indiscerning’ guests. Very disappointed with Althams and Jet2 for recommending.

Playa Blanca is a laid back resort more suited to couples.
There is a great selection of restaurants with El Horno, El Marisco and Bodegon Tapas being our favourites. A few bars with live music and a couple of tradtional English pubs.
Two good beaches and an excellent long promenade.
Shops very touristy and best avoided except for essentials.

Playa Blanca centre offers a good selection of tourist shops and supermarkets including a Netto for the essentials. The seafront is lined with a good choice of restaurants, we found the quality of food was very good and particularly like the Varadero – excellent food, good service and at a good price.
Playa Blanca has a long promenade that stretches the entire length, offering great views during a stroll.
The Playa Flamingo beach would suit families as it wasn’t overcrowded and had gentle sloping calm waters. It is backed by a few good restaurants (we liked the beach club) and a couple of supermarkets.
The Papagayo beaches are very unspoilt and offer great beautiful beaches. Be warned though, take your own food and drink with you as there is only one restaurant/kiosk at the car park and we were charged 6 euros for 2 soft drinks. (one of which was past it’s sell by date!)
Our only downside to the resort of Playa Blanca was that the shops and restaurants tended to shut at about 10 o’clock in the evening and most people left the resort centre by this time to return to their hotels. There were a few English bars open after this time.
After visiting other resorts on the island we feel we made a good choice with Playa Blanca and we would recommend it.

Playa blanca is a lovely place to stay and I think the warmest on the island as it is less windy down there.
It is very clean and well looked after. The beach is gorgeous and is also very clean. There is not much in the way of entertainment only a few bars but that was ok for us as we wanted a quieter holiday.
There are a nice selection of resturants our favourite one being the slow boat very nice food and friendly staff. We will almost definatly visit playa blanca again in the future.

I just love Playa Blanca. I have stayed at Costa Teguise and visited Puerto del Carmen and in my view Playa Blanca is a hundred times better. Plus the weather is usually sunnier and less windy.

Playa Blanca is not tacky like some other resorts in Lanzarote. The 2 sandy beaches are clean as is the resort generally. The shops are a little touristy but we did not come for shopping. Use Netto supermarket for your self catering needs.
A vast choice of restaurants and from our experience over our 2 weeks stayed we could recommend La Cuadra, El Marisco, Lanis(Rubion Marina),and Brendas Bar(for good traditional English food). We found the attitude if the staff at Casa Pedro on the seafront a disgrace. We booked and they did not seem to care we still had to wait over 30 minutes for our table.
Also the food in Casa Rosa was poor. The Irish Anvil is the best if you want a slighly more lively evening. They had a good duo singing not too loudy music we could recognise. there was also a bar called Swing that looked interesting but it had only just opened and had not got going yet.

Playa Blanca is a small town with quite a large beach, with another small beach near by. There are a few restaurants in the town although most of them seem to offer the same food so there isn't much variation and choice. Also the bars do not stay open very late and by 12am the town is really quiet.
The beach was very nice and to hire a sunbed was 2.50 euros. There were water sports on offer and there were places to go to eat and drink around, which was good.
verall the resort was too quiet for my boyfriend and I and after a few visits to the town there was not much else to do/see.

Playa Blanca is a bit ' plastic ' but has more character than other Lanzarote resorts we have stayed in.
The ferry to Fuerteventura is a good day out but expensive at 30 euros return for adults.

Avoid unless 2* makes you happy. Sadly- it clearly does for many guests.
