Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

Try for South facing appartment. Food in onsite bar is good but loads of local restaurants are a short walk away

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Puerto Del Carmen is 15 minutes from the airport so you can get a taxi instead of the 'tour bus'. Lots and lots of restuarants and some good shopping along a very long strip which makes up the town. The beaches are all within walking distance in front of the strip.

The resort itself seemed to be focused on the one main high street. This was always clean and tidy. It was good having all the restaurants/bars/shops on one side of the road and the beach front on the other. This was we could walk alongside the beach and avoid the people asking you to come in and use thier bar, etc. although you get that everywhere. The beach was sandy and had lifeguards at various stages as the sea was rough. To hire two sun loungers and an umbrella cost 8 euros. There was no litter and everywhere was clean.

We had a lovely time in Peurto del carmen, plenty of shops, bar and restuarants. Weather was great, even though it was windy it was welcome as the sun gets very hot!
Found a lovely little chinese called great wall of china, spent most nights in bars such as paradise, big apple, niki beach and many more!!!
Only thing i would say to any young ladies who like a night on the town, take as little as possible out ie, handbag, phone, purse, camera, as after a really good night out i had my handbag full of the things i listed ripped off my shoulder!!! So have no hol pics now!! Loads of people did try help but with no joy!! Well he didnt gain much as i'd spent all me, cancelled me cards n phone etc!! He he!!

Puerto Del Carmen was fantastic, apartments located in between old and new town so you really have the best of both worlds,

The resort has the best of both worlds, quite if thats what you like or wild if that is for you also.
Food on this Island is top of the range at a very chead cost.
The beaches are well looked after and clean.

Purta de Carmen makes one feel comfortable with friendly people,good shops, eating out, good beaches , public transport, to other locations, many taxis,just a good place to holiday

I stayed in Peurto Del Carmen and I would like to highly recommend downstairs in Cafe La Ola for a pure chilled out experience, we went most evenings for a drink. The main beach is lovely, clean and plenty of loungers. The resort is very couple and family orientated, no large all female or male groups.
The Mirador and Ceasar Manriques house are superb tourist attractions.
Puerto Calero also has some superb restaurants, my favourite is La Papardella.

Entertainment was limited but we went into the town every night, Did not visit the beach, but could see that there were little private areas surrounded by rocks for privacy, will visit again.
