Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

I would go back to the resort at a different hotel as I did, we left kontiki after a day and went to flora which was a much better standard of service all round. It was a proper all inclusive.

We have been to Lanzarote 3 times now, and on each occasion we have stayed in Puerto del Carmen.
There is plenty to do of an evening. The main promenade is full of Bars, Restaurants, Night Clubs and Shops. There is no age limit to children being in thte bars, no matter what time of day/night it is.
Everything that you need is close to hand.

Resort need a good clean up, paths extremely dirty in some places with lots of broken slabs, missing kerbs etc.
Had trouble with lots of nightclub touts, shop and restaurant workers annoying us as we walked along. When will they learn that this does not work.
If you have mobility issues this is probably not the place for you as most accommodation is uphill to some degree.
Would visit again but try and stay at the newer end next time to save a long walk. But the harbour at the old town end is worth visiting as some nice restaurants there. Not a modern marina but a small working fishing port.

ideal family resort not too many drunks!plenty of restaurants along the front. Spinnickers bar up the side road had entertainment on each night the drag show and hipmatist were excellent also three pool tables kept the children entertained. beware of the electrical shops ran by asians many people we spoke to have been conned into buying poor quality or faulty equipment especially cameras.

Puerto del Carmen,to us, is an ideal holiday. If you want loud you got it. If you want quiet you got it.
All restaurants reasonably priced.
At the old harbour try The Dolce Vita. Great sea views and good food.
The Rueda was the only one in the old harbour we thought overpriced for what you got. Nice views though.
Watch your bills. There is a 5% charge added at the end and they put bread rolls etc on your table when you sit down. These are NOT free (3 eurosappears on your bill as "pan") bit of a cheek.\if you eat there 10 times (well you add it up)
On the main strip there is something for everyone from small bars to an underground karaoke palace (Titos)
If you go to the Casino area you must try the Cafe Ola
It is stunnung. It looks expensive but it isn't
We ate there a number of times and paid about 35 euros for a 3 course meal with wine for two. (about £22)
No one rushes you and we had great views of the sea and the "Chill Out Cafe" below us with it's white swing chairs and sunbeds. Again, looks dear but isn't
All in all we had great holiday. Beach by day and so much choice in the evening/nights we cannot wait to return asap.
Cheers Puerto Del Carmen

clean resort lots of space for sunbathing on beach, lots of good bars and clubs for night owls, good restaurants in old town. recommened rancho texas for a different night out, meal and as much beer and sangria you can drink for a set price, you must be prepared to join in the fun.
