If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

Puerto Del Carmen is a lively resort and it can get quite annoying when you are asked to go into restaurants 100 times a night. We found if you just use the phrase "we have just eaten maybe tomorrow....." If you take a walk to the opposite end to the marina it is quite beautiful.

very clean resort with extra wide promenade stretching for miles.beach immaculate with 2 sunbeds and parasol 8 euros per day.usual warning about electrical shopping applies !! just avoid them!!great selection of resturants specially in "old town" food great and very reasonable.best value for cigarettes and perfume is "charlies" ,they have many shops along the strip. plenty of good shows in bars at night but all seem to start late (10 30 ) we will be back here often !!

I was suprised at how much I liked the resort as it was not a place I would have chosen. We were visiting my daughter who was working in Lanzarote so I was extremely suprised to find that I really liked the resort. There are plenty of places to eat and although the beach is a bit vulcanic it is a lovely stretch and is more or less on the door step of these apartments. The Fariones Hotel (not the apart-hotel) has a lovely pool area and its own private little beach it is well worth a visit one day.

The whole of the resort was very clean and very well looked after by the staff. the beach is lovely very clean and tidy with men walking up and down picking things up that may have blown away the sea is lovely and you can see all the little fish in the swollow water where you swim which is very nice and alot of people take bread with them to feed them. there is plenty to do on a night time from pub quizzes to sports bars for the footie fans to small peaceful pubs if thats what you prefer. there is a lovely little pub on the main stretch called the spanish inn it`s owned by a british family and they are really lovely the food is good in there too.

I have visited Lanzarote several times in the past and find the island itself beautiful. It is a volcanic landscape and can be quite stark and barren looking, however it is also unique. The beach at porto Del Carmen is clean, long and you can feed fish in parts of the sea- just paddle out and they'll take it from your hand.
However, found the restaurants/bars poor value. Overpriced, food not up to much and service indifferent.
Think I may have been spoiled by travelling to Greece in recent years. May possibly return to Lanzarote, but don't think i'll be hurrying back.

We did not try the hotel bar as we much preferred the restaurant next door which is to the left just past the Spar. The food there is pretty cheap and very very tasty. We used to pop down on a lunchtime to bring a pizza up to our room as all the food is available take away. The roast lamb comes highly recommended. This is closed on a Monday.
The Spar shop is well equipped with just about everything you will need. Part baked bread is cooked all day long so you will usually be able to pick up a just baked baguette.
Out of the apartments and turn right you head for the sea and onto the main strip. Some wonderful restaurants either left or right but a lot do the usual pizza, pasta etc. If you keep going and head for the sea there is a bar called Ole which is the nicest bar ive ever been in. It has loungers overlooking the sea and even a wooded four poster bed which you can lay on and have your drinks!!!
There is not a lot of entertainment in Lanzarote well at least we didnt find any but the whole place is suitable for anyone of any age. We would return for sure as the sunshine was absolutely beautiful and would have no hesitation about staying at Atalaya Apartments as they were one of the best places we have ever stayed at.

The resort was very welcoming, bulging with restaurants, bars and souveneir shops. The restaurants, although plentiful, all served the same cuisine with similar ranging menus. The La Braseria did a very recomendable barbeque for a minimum of 2 people - 14 pieces of meat!! Although the menus are similar each place had its own style and atmosphere which still made the evenings different. There seemed to be a heavy irish influence with many irsh bars/restaurants. Although we didnt venture onto the beach it looked large, clean and full of sunbeds and runs adjacent to the main street.

Gorgeous beach. Long promenade with the usual shops and restaurants. Most places serving same food, all served with chips and chips and chips.
