Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

The only good thing there is about this holiday was the beautiful resort of porto del carmen. Beach was beautiful (watch out for jelly fish)!!
Sunset beach the pub, thanks to Jamie and the gang, we had a great few drunken quiz nights, and the western night is worth the money if your going on a trip, kids loved it.
Also in the old town some lovely traditional restaurants and very friendly people!
Would i go again???? Lanzarote yes, Lanzamar apartments not a chance, i would do without a holiday before i went there again!!!

Great resort, lively enought for groups of teenagers like us, but plenty of places for families with children of all ages to visit.

In the sunny daytime (22 degrees)we walked loads (map in hand)weighing up all the hotels/apartments in the resort for a family holiday later in the year. Lots of places to eat and drink, whether looking for a full English Breakfast or any international cuisine in the evening. Loved the open air bars/restaurants along the strip but a bit chilly in the evening at this time of year, even tho' they had patio heaters (godsend) take lots of layers and fleeces! Only critism is footpaths a bit uneven.

Puerto del carmen has a fantastic beach, which is backed by the Avienda/boulevard which is made up of various restaurants, Irish bars, discos, souvenier shops and more such tack. If Bingo, the premiership, late night bars, tattoo parlous etc are your thing head here at night time.
The old town (10 min walk) is probably for the more discerning, offers a more relaxed pace with a greater variety of restaurants. The harbour area is the highlight with outdoor dining (heated by nightime!) with an array of fish restaurants. El Sardinero is the jewel in the crown. If fish is your thing dine here some night (we ate here 3 out of 7 nights). Sublime. El Tomate offers a more varied menu and is also worth a trip - you won't be hungry leaving this restaurant!
For shoppers the Biosfera shopping complex is an ultra modern SC with all the usual high st shops. A fantastic SC but nothing you couldn't get at home. "Mystic" (on the Avienda) a well decorated craft shop is worth a visit if you want something produced locally.
Of course alcohol and cigs are duty free and Jameson Irish Whisky at €12.50 a bottle is a steal and 200 cigs for €20 is a must if that's your thing.
Finally, one major drawback we encountered while walking around the resort was the fact that the street crossing areas don't always cater for buggys and when they did it wasn't by the zebra crossing! Just a small thing for those with small kids.

Puerto del Carmen is great for a holiday, something for everyone's tastes. Beaches are good but a bit limiting space wise if you go in the heart of summer.
Resort is very clean there was a carnival on the Saturday we were there- finished eventually about nine pm but street cleaners immediately moved in and the place was spotless again by 11pm.

This was our 4th trip to PDC in Lanzarote. We are going back again with the children in October. We had just arrived home when we booked again. PDC is the cleanest resort I have been to on holidays. Never see any rubbish left on streets or anything like that. The bars are great for a night out. Would recommend a night at Rancho Texas - it really is the best night out in Lanzarote. We have been to it on 3 occasions now and would not miss it. The beach is safe and clean. For a great holiday choose Lanzarote.
