If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

A nice resort with plenty to do and eat. Quite reasonable for eating out.

The old town is much more suitable to couples and families, with lots of restaurants and bars to try. The new part is full of bars and best left to the 18-30's! The beach was spotlessly clean.

The villa's are in Peutro Del Carmen which is a nice place being more upmarket than the south of Tenerife. There is more than plenty to do for all ages, we went go karting (10E for 8 mins) which was well equiped and run. We also went on the subamrine safari from Puetro Calero (5 mins down the road) which was excellent and well worth the money (40E for adults and 20E for kids).
There is a huge selection of bars and restauraunts to accommodate all tastes akthough some are better than others. Most of the ones on the strip are very competitive on price but you only pay for what you get (frozen vegetables etc). Don't be frightened to spend a bit extra on eating out, yopu won't regret it. We especially liked the Los Marineros Grill overlooking the old harbour, and the Bahia seafood restaurant also overlooking the harbour although you will need to be down there for 7.30 to guarantee a table on the balcony for the view.
Excursion wise we went to El Golfo for lunch and found several good restraunts in the village, the one we chose didn't have a menu or price list, the waiter just reeled off what the had got of the fishing boat that morning and you had to choose from that, but the food was excellent and not too expensive.
We also strongly advise taking a trip up the island to the Jameos De Agua Caves, well worth a visit and up to the top of the island to the Mirador Del Rio where the view will take your breath away, but do go on a bright sunny day to get the best of it. We would also recommed Puetro Calero (where the submarine is) for a afternoon out in the marina and dinner at any of the restaurants there, although it is advisable to book as the place is a bit exclusive and the eateries do get busy on an evening.
All in all we would recommend Puetro Del Carmen as it caters for all tastes and if you want a relaxing unhurried holiday you wouldn't go far wrong with the Alondra's Villas

The resort of Puerto Del Carmen itself is great.
Balcon Del Mar is in the Old Town and only about 10/15 min walk from the new town.
To be honest, its better to stay in the old town and go to the new town than be in the new town all the time. A taxi from Balcon del Mar to the new town is between 2,80 and 3,30 euros depending on where on the strip you want to go.

Puerto Del Carmen is lovely but we have also stayed in Costa Teguise in previous years, out of the two we preferred Costa Teguise it is so much more laid back. Puerto Del Carmen you can't walk past a restaurant without someone trying to drag you in - I would advise you to walk on the beach side to avoid this happening night after night.
Lots of restaurants to choose from and they all have some form of entertainment.
The steps which lead you down to the beach I thought were very dangerous, so much so that I ended up in hospital and with a hefty medical bill after falling down them so please do take care if you intend to walk down them.
Another thing to think about is in resort they don't accept your E111 cards so make sure you have good insurance.

I can not fault the cleanliness in Lanzarote the bin men come daily, and the road sweepers.
There is pleny of bars and restaurants to choose from the mucky duck pub 5 Min's from our apartments did a lovely breakfast, and really made a fuss of our family.
La brasserie restaurant does a fab t bone steak, and side of lamb beautiful meal, even got a complimentary drink Baileys mmm.
I am looking at booking the same apartments next year for 2 weeks this time.

One of the nicest resorts in Lanzarote in my opinion. We were very close to the main strip and had a bar near us called The Rendevous. Pure brilliance.

We enjoyed the resort in general, we visted the volcanoes and the caves by car and also the aqua park. We had a little trouble finding these places having never driven abroad before, but we saved an awful lot of money by doing this as the tour rep quoted 68€ per adult and 38€ per child for the volcanoe trip, we paid a total of 28€ for all of us as with the other trips we paid a fraction of the price.
Lanzarote has lots of interesting places to visit.
