Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

Try for South facing appartment. Food in onsite bar is good but loads of local restaurants are a short walk away
All overlook pool upper rooms get more sun on balcony

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Beaches

Puerto Del Carmen has great beaches and nightlife. We have visited there twice in the last couple of years and would definitely go again.
We have eaten both times that we have been at a great place called Sunset Beach. Very friendly english family run place, nice food with nice people running it. (It can be found I think, next door to Tito's?!?!?)
Also for a good night out we went to Picadilly which is a british run pub with a cracking DJ who is always up for a laugh.

Puerto Del Carmen is a lovely place to stay, the beaches are clean and well maintained. The local people are very friendly
which made our visits to the bars and restraunts very enjoyable.
My only complaint is that the pavement on the shops side of the road was too narrow. I`d go back again, but it would have to be in a Hotel.

Puerto del carmen is friendly, and not so expensive. There are a lot of nice shops. Not so much rubbish. God standard of food overall.

The resort of Puerto Del Carmen is dull.
There was no entertainment whatsoever, nothing at all for the family to do apart from eat and shop.
We found one lovely restaurant, however, which made the evenings more bearable.
My advice if you are going to this resort, book a car and get out of there. We found a lovely beach at Papagayo - well worth the drive, and check out Timanfaya, awesome - but save yourself a load of money by driving there yourself.

Puerto Del Carmen is your typical Spanish holiday resort - slightly tacky but not unpleasant.
In terms of eating out, you are spoilt for choice - just about every cuisine imaginable within any given 500m stretch of seafront. We found it best to avoid the big restaurant chains which are dotted along the seafront, and instead went to places locals ate in.
We were not disappointed - excellent and reasonably priced food with no stomach upsets experienced.
If you want short break with sun, sea and sand Puerto Del Carmen is ideal - especially for winter breaks.

PDC is not the tidiest town you'll ever see, though it's only paper rubbish about - not sewage etc.
Beaches are clean also. Plenty of nightlife & restaurants to keep everyone happy. We found Steak/chips/coleslaw for 5euro, though you can get class meals down at the harbour, be prepared since service can be a bit slower then what we are used to. The food is always perfect, though we did see a few moaners !! No complaints here .. We'll be back next year with any luck.

Puerto Del Carmen has something for everyone. If you want the night life it's there, but if you just want to have a relaxing holiday there are plenty of quiet beaches close at hand.If you chose the location of your accommodation to suit your needs you should be ok.

What can I say - apart from the 'biggie' holidays, i.e. Disneyworld Florida, Cruising the Carribean, Lanzarote is one of the best holidays I've ever had. Everyone on the island is so friendly and the place is so clean. We had a problem with the locusts coming over from Africa (as seen recently on the News) but that didnt stop us much. Lanzarote is definitely a place I will be visiting again in the near future.
