If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

We went out in the Old and New town both of which had fabulous resturants and bars to suit all. The week we went away was rather quiet due to the school holidays, so most groups of single people either went the week before or were arriving a week later.

Stayed in the old part of town up cardiac hill but had an excellent time plenty of choice for eating and drinking out and about.

This was our first visit to Lanzarote, and after this visit it will NOT be our last.
Stayed at Puerto del Carmen, in the old town. This area is very clean, not so bright and boisterous as the new town with its "strip" but caters for all tastes.
All types of bars and restaurants and shops. Standard of food better than the 'New' town end, but a bit hilly. So people with walking difficulties might find it a bit tough, whereas the new town is flat, but full of the younger crowd. The old town has its own small beach with a lovely rock cove. If you like snorkelling, go there. If youv'e never tried snorkelling, go there. Its amazing. You can also go scuba diving there. And jet-skiing, And parascending. And banana boating. Not many sun-beds, so if yoy want one, get there early.
The main beach is further along. Much bigger with miles of sun-beds. Bit boring though. All this beach has is pedaloes. Too much like hard work for us though. We were on holiday for goodness sake!
This resort has something for everyone including a casino and a couple of 'x' rated clubs if that is your forte. Not mine though (wife wouldn't let me!) Plenty of shops. Cheap ciggies a plenty to fill your suitcase up though of course your only allowed 200 officially. (Sorry officer, cos its Spanish and they use the Euro, I thought Lanzarote WAS in the EU).
While your there, have a trip round the island. Its well worth it.
Going back next year for sure.

Puerto del Carmen is full of great shops and restaurants. I didn't see many nightclubs if that is your thing. But there are many specialist shops.
There isn't that much of a beach. For that you want Playa de los Pocillos, which our hotel was next to. Or Playa Blanca at the other end of the resort.

It was in a very good location for us, with shops, restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. With loads of really good bars for our age group (18 yrs).
The beach is located about a 10 minute walk. All of the restaurants nearby offered great choice of food.
The area was very clean and lively. Local ammenities on hand such as supermarket, bars, restaurants and a tourist office.

The resort is in a part of the town that needs a real upgrade and a good clean up .

Puerto del Carmen is lovely for a relaxing holiday. Ideally suited to couples and families. There is a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants in the new and old town. Night life is not brilliant in the resort and would not recommend it for a young and lively holiday for teenagers. Good shopping centre and harbour area.

We hired a car for 3 days and toured the island much cheaper than doing the excursions. Most of the bars have music or entertainment each night. Beach is good size and clean and resort is very clean. Market was good.

The main resort of Puerto Del Carmen is a very lively place. It is filled with some great restaurant and bars offering food from all over the world. I can highly recommend the Slow Boat Chinese restarant which is great value for money and the Fire bar in the Atlantico complex for a bit of an 80's disco.
The beach is very clean however I think the sunbeds are a bit overpriced at 4 euros each. I would recommed just laying on a beach towel, that way you can get closer to the sea and don't burn your feet so much on the hot sand.
If your after a good night out then your spoilt for choice here. Theres everything from traditional english, irish and spanish pubs to the more lively discos and kareoke bars. Make the most of the PR's who try and get you into their bars, they can be annoying at times but if you let them take you into the bar you get sorts for free! One thing to watch out for is that nightclubs over there are actually brothels so make sure you are going into a disco not a brothel! lol
