Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

The resort it self was clean but expensive, we went with out children and found nothing there for children except the beach.
I now some children are happy with just a beech but mine need more and they would have found this to boring. Plenty of bars and resturants but look around as there are some good ones which are reasonable and some are just a rip off especialy for the drinks we went to one didn't ask the price which was our own faults and it cost us 18 euros for a boot of bear and a cocktail.
We did go on a trip to Laura Park to see the Orca show and this was fantastic just wished we had the kids to see this and paid 36 euros in the town but was told it would take 1hour but took 2 so be warned long and hot trip for kids but was worth it.
If you would like to now more please email me and I will tell you.

Las Americas still suffers from being a bit dirty but with the new pedestrian walkways which are being completed this is improving. The Lucky Lucky men are still a pain and the ticket touts and PA's were particulary agressive as the resort was quiet.

The resort area is fairly clean.
I cannot comment on the Entertainment as we did not visit any outside the hotel.
Beach was good.
The only thing we found we did not enjoy was being pestered by touts for ever club , bar, cafe and shop trying to sell us a camera or video camera and also those scratch card touts claiming you have one something for a visit to a shop and picking up some leaflets.
The best thing is to tell them you have not got a credit card , your not married and you are with a girlfriend , or sorry I am going home today.
We visited Mountain (Teide) half day and jungle park and really enjoyed both, we booked with a tour rep just outside of the hotel (walking to the left as you exit the hotel) always ask for deals like one half price etc nothing to lose by asking.

Resort was overall very clean with really great walks along the sea front in either direction - usually towards starco for us!
Plenty of taxis available but personally enjoyed the walk. Unfortunately the PR's did get on our nerves trying to get us in their restaurants every time we walked past.
However a polite no thank you usually got rid of them! Plenty of entertainment was available for various tastes. Beach was quite nice although a little rocky in parts.
Third time we have visited Tenerife as we feel at home there so I'm sure we will visit again sometime!
I recommend it to anyone as there is something for anyone -young or old!

Some general points. Entertainment in Las Americas gets worse...not in terms of quality but nothing much happens till 11am. Some have a compere/singer from about 10pm then a 'turn' from 11-midnight.
I recall going to tenerife and seeing three acts from 9-12 in the same pub but those days are long gone. My personal favourites the Looney Tunes perform in Shenanigans but the place was shut again due to owners holidays !! (same time as last year ).
Brahms and Liszt behind the Vulcano is a good place.... no foul language and well run and at the other end of the spectrum is Kystal Starr at the Wigan Pier but it's all personal preference I suppose.
Never been to Tenerife and seen a worse exchange rate than in the UK. 100 yards at the side of the Vulcano opposite the Corner bar is Carp Fishing(well signed) great rate but no receipt. Got 1.41 in the Post Office and 1.445 there. Enough said !
Great improvements in the resort generally. The walk from the Conquistador all the way to the Bouganvilla is close to being finished and this means one way traffic in a narrow lane and a pleasant and safer walk for pedestrians.
All they need do now is knock The Patch down and rebuild it with quality clubs and buildings !!!

We were on the edge of PDLA so we had a nice relaxed atmosphere with a few caberet and karaoke bars around us which we frequented every night.
However we did walk into the main strip one day and i have to say we are very glad we weren't staying there.
I know there is a lot of building work going on at the moment but the whole place did seem a bit grimey and very run down.
We will have to see wether the re-furb improves the area as in the torviscas end where all the renovations are complete and where we were staying it is much nicer.

Most of the resort was clean with the exception of the Veronicas Area where parts of some pavings contained the aftermath of some late night drinkers- yuch!! A
lso a lot of the pavings around the resort are badly in need of repair- maybe this was the cause of why we saw quite a few people with limbs in crepe bandages.
Plenty good pubs with great entertainment, and restaurants serving up a very good variety of menus. We found the beach standards poor, always littered with disgarded plastic bottles and the scattered remains of beach camp fires.
All the common brigade of conmen and women selling anything from drugs to rolex watches are rife.
They work in pairs and their practice is to engage their targets in conversation while one of them picks your pocket or bag, so you have to be vigilent.

Great resort, plenty to do, beach and bars to cater for all types, from Karaoke to swish lounging bars, with price tag to match. Continually upgrading area, making it more pedestrian friendly.
