Attached to the Hotel is a bar, well worth sitting here at night - only thing is your all-inclusive option stops the moment you go past reception so drinks aren't free here.

Very clean and tidy.
Plenty to do day and night bars on the beach(very cheap)beach very clean plenty of sunbeds and walk planks.
Down side paragliders sometimes miss their drop points and land on the beach.

A good small resort. No hastle, no stray dogs, clean and safe.

Olu Deniz was not our cup of tea but was a beautiful and scenic place.
We thought that it was a over commercialised and a bit tacky. The restaurant, experience sellers and shop staff who constantly banter with you whilst you are walking past become a little tedious after the first hour of being there. The food on offer at the restaurants that we visited were very poor. There seems to be a lack of fresh vegetables as most dishes comprise over boiled tinned veg. Some of the meals we had were microwaved. We ordered fillet steak at one restaurant that could only be described as compacted meat.
We wouldn't visit the resort again but could not deny that the location and scenery is amazing.

So pleased that after 5 years away Olu has changed very little. A few more hotels, roads and pavements more finished, bars a bit swisher but still the same chilled out vibe. Love it.
Only downside was the gentrification of Bob's Beach (sandy side of Lagoon) which used to be a backpackers/campers dream, cheap food & drink, cheap cabin rooms, free cab ride, etc. now has v. elegant and trendyand expensive bar restaurant and has definetly gone up market.
Plus sunbeds over priced. Oh dear!!!!!!! Moan over its worth the money for the view trust me.

On a whole was very clean, came across the odd dog mess, but hey LOL.
Compared to other resorts this isn't as lively, a few karaoke bars, they had turkish belly dancers here and there, and a venue that had a show called "talk of the town", been to previous one in Gumbet & was very entertaining(drag show/singers).
Also lots of watersports to do if your feeling adventerous, and loads of tour operators offering boat trips £8 & jeep safaris £18 etc, both are well worth doing, as you get lunch inc.
Beach was lovely, but would reccomend the sand shoes, as very pebbley in & out of sea, sunbeds aren't too close together either 15lira for 2 beds & umbrella.
Wouldn't hesitate about visiting Olu deniz again, as very close to Hisaronu and Fethiye.

Olu Deniz is a small but very pretty resort. Everthing is within easy walking distance. Mountain backdrop and beautiful long beach. Once you get past people trying to hassle you to eat in their restaurants the Turkish are lovely. Why doesn't their tourist board advise them that they should leave people alone. Many people return from Turkey and that is their greatest complaint.

A fantastic resort which is in a fantastic setting. Very lively buzz but the touts outside the restaurants do get a bit annoying especially when they see 'fresh meat'.
However some are very friendly and we enjoyed a chat with them. We particularly liked Ottoman's for good meals and service. Once you've tanned up a bit it's not so bad.
What you do find is the best prices for food, drink, exchange rates etc are usually at the top of the resort and get dearer the nearer you get to the beach. When we were there the best rate was 2.88lira to £1. We actually got 2.95 by using Nationwide debit card at ATM's.
If booking any trips, Jeep Safari etc., ask how long it will be, when will they drop you back at hotel, are all places mentioned definitely on the agenda etc. We booked a safari which did not go to the 'long beach' and then dropped us of at hotel over 1hr before everybody else's trips and all for the same price. Definitely not 'gorgeous'.
Ask hotel for recommendation. If going with Goldtrail the flight will be with Onurair, be prepared for the flight meal. It is Turkish breakfast. A bit of feta cheese, some greenery, an olive or two and a small roll. Okay if you have small appetite. Consider taking sandwiches as some coaches were taking 3 hours to get to Olu deniz after dropping off other tourists en route.
A thoroughly enjoyable holiday - already looking forward to going back to Turk Hotel and Oludeniz next year.

We found Olu Deniz to be a particularly clean resort with just the right amount of nightlife - good choice of restaurants & bars, some lively, some quiet, with no 'yob' element.
Plenty of shops to browse in, including an opticians
specialising in varifocals which I suspect would be much cheaper than at home, so take your prescription with you. Olu is very pretty, not just the lagoon areas, but even sitting on the main beach watching the paragliders come down from the mountain backdrop is quite something. The main beach is very pebbly with a steep drop into the sea, so not for 'wusses'!
The main beach in the lagoon area is not so steep but is rocky. The lagoon beach is very shallow, but a bit shingly, so we found the best beaches to be on the back road of the lagoon & our favourite was 'Billy's'. Start walking along the road & dark blue minibus will stop & pick you up. They will then give you a card with the phone number so the next day you can ring to be collected from your hotel. They will take you back whenever you choose.
The beach here is all soft sand & the water very clear. Shallow but not too far to wade out to swim. Ideal! This beach cafe, I found sold the best coffee in Olu! A mug & saucer complete with 2 biccies for 2.5 ytl.Plenty of trips on offer. We went on the Dalyan trip, but preferred Tlos & Saklikent which was a truly lovely day out.
We also went to the market at Fethiye & found some good bargains. Weather the first week was just right during the day - high 20's but we needed a cardy at night as there was a chilly breeze. We then had one day of showers, before it changed & became hotter & hotter. On the day we returned home, at 5pm it was still 35c in the shade!
We really enjoyed Olu, and will definitely return. I would say that it is a resort for all ages, where you can be as active or lazy as you choose.

Local shopkeepers and restauranters work hard to keep locality clean. Early in the morning the streets are hive of industry as every one is busy sweeping and hosing.
The resort is quiet but there are plenty of resturants with bars to choose from and tourist shops to browse. If you want more nightlife then Hisoronu is only 10 mins on Dolmus. There are a number of trips available from the area and many different companies willing to help organise. We busied ourselves with a boat trip, market, jeep safari, paragliding, quad biking, mud baths along Dalyan river, turkish massage, Salikkent gorge and Tlos....all of which organised from resort. We also ate like lords although you do have to work at finding more traditional turkish food in this resort. A little upstairs eatery called Turkish Pizza was amongst our favourites. Sit on big cushions on their balcony, catching sea breezes eating wonderful food for pennies. It really was a bit of heaven. The owner was also very genuine, friendly and interesting. Our other favourite for eating was the Pine Tree Resturant. Traditional turkish dishes. reasonably priced. Whole evenings were spent there happily eating. I grew very fat during 2 weeks in Turkey.
The pebble/shingle beach is kept beautifully. Again a lot of work goes into keeping it this way but you wouldnt realise it as it is so unobtrusively done. There are also some nice little private beaches around the back of the lagoon which makes for a nice escape if main beach/lagoon are getting busy.
I would certainly visit this stunning location again.
