The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

This was our first visit to Puerto Rico and it wont be our last. We were staying close to the Europa Centre with its many bars, restaurants and shops.
We ate in several places and have no complaints with any of the restaurants. El Toro Negro is worth a visit for its Steaks, Gran Hong Kong for Chinese, Lord Byron for the Chicken breasts and puddings and Flicks for breakfast. These four were among our favourites but there are many more to try and enjoy.
We spent a lot of time in xtreeemz bar in the Europa Centre as it was the sort of fun pub that suited us down to the ground.
Puerto Rico itself is a very clean and pleasant resort. The residents are very friendly and helpful. The beaches are clean, but we had to get a taxi back up to the apartments.
We did do the mini golf up by the Europa Centre which is good fun and fills in a bit of time. In short give Puerto Rico a visit its worth it.

You can walk only saw far out in the sea as there is a rope barrier stopping you going to far out
There is plenty of places to eat and drink both in the bottom shopping area and the Europa center with plenty of shops that are tax free
Spent most of the time in the Europa center at Barbacoa and Xtreeemz bar, Barbacoa has entertainment on every night has tribute acts to Michael Jackson, Abba, the Drifters also drag artist. It also has 6/7 different TV's to watch your favourtie sports. Xtreeemz very cheap drink only 95cence upto 6:30pm everyday, after that still very cheap, Russ the Dj,will make your night a memorable one, it's guaranteed, had some very great nights in there, Thursday's is when Abbalicious is, and every Friday is fancy dress. Can't wait be to back next year.

Puerto Rico is arranged over a series of hills and can be quite inaccessible in parts. The nearby Europa Centre is a waste of space - a far better commerical centre in town. Several bars, resturants and shops all in one complex - quite lively - and has a nice vibe to it. Unfortunately - also very competitive - thought I had stepped into a Soukke at one point - because you're hassled by the owners to come in! Very good Chinese restaurant here - serving 98 dishes for 5.5 Euros. Taxis and buses also cheap - which helps you get around.
The highlight of my break was a trip to Puerto Mogan - very pretty. Shame the rest of the coast wasn't the same...!

Puerto Rico is superb, always clean and tidy and plenty to do day and night.
After visiting here for the past three years I was a bit saddened by how quiet it was this year, it seems every bar and eatery is feeling the credit crunch at the moment, I have never seem a resort so quiet in July, for the first three days we were the only family at the hotel pool!
My only gripe would have to be the Anfi Touts and reps, even after seeing them countless times they still chase you down the street waving leaflets in your face and will not take no for an answer, Please Puerto Rico Officials, do something about them and stop them upsetting visitors who pay good hard earned money to come to your lovely resort.
In short if your thinking about visiting here, Go, you will have a blast!

Positives for the resort, Euro Centre (top of the Hill) has some good places to eat, and caters for all needs from great food @ Lord Byron & the Tavern, €40 to €50 for a family of 4.
Too the spectator sport that is eating @ Flicks, you have to see it to believe it. Everything is €6, but there are constant queues to eat there in the evening, and people literally wait looking over your shoulder encouraging you to finish so they can eat.
One thing to note of the EuroCentre @ the top of Puerto Rico, is there are many empty shops, so don't be surprised at the insistence of the locals asking for you to eat there.
The Beach @ Amadores is just €2.50 in a taxi, and the same for an umbrella on the beach, the sand is crushed coral (it's like sand) and it's very nice to spend a few hours there, and nearby shops and places to eat with reasonable prices to say where you are.
Finally the views from the Altamar are beautiful.
A resort I do enjoy visiting.
