The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

There are two sets of steps down to the main Commercial Centre, don't bother with the steps on the way up get a taxi at around 2.45 euros, its cheap and saves your legs.
You will need a taxi to go up to the Europa Centre, don't ring for one at reception just go along to the main road which is about 50 yards and wave one down, there are that many you won't be waiting more than a couple of minutes.
It is quite clean although a couple of the paths need a bit of repair, we preferred the entertainment at the Europa Centre with having children as the Commercial Centre catered for Young adults.
There is an English bar called the Extreemz where they have quizzies and you win a shot children are allowed in and they often have big sporting events on sky.
We never went on the Puerto Rico beach we went to the Amadores instead, it is 4 euros in taxi but well worth it. It wasn't as crowded as Puerto Rico but it is more picturesque.
A visit to Maspalomas water park is a definite must, go on to this website http://www.aqualand.es/grancanaria/index.php?wlang=en and print off a copy of the 15% discount off entrance fees, one for each person. A bus leaves the centre of Puerto Rico starting from 10am, make sure you go to the front of the bus queue as it is popular and you may not get a seat. It is very cheap for a family of four one way it will cost 6.40 euros. The park is fantastic and well worth a visit, all the rubber rings are provided you don't need to hire like at other parks.

We loved the resort.
There are many trips to go on and we reccomend the puerto de mogan boat trip - it was beautiful and there was a great market there on a Friday.
There was plenty of entertainment in the centre with bars, restaurants and shops. We highly recommend the Baracoua bar in the Europa centre with live entertainment every night.

The steps from many hotels to the commercial centre could be a problem for the elderly and young families with pushchairs.
Plenty to do in the resort and loads of places to eat, drink and be entertained.
If planning to go on a dolphin search ensure you take travel sickness tablets before hand.

We found the resort fairly quiet for May, but the bars I would recommend are Dicey Reillys for a great laugh and Harleys for a bop. We didn't like the Baracoda bar, we found the entertainment ok but the staff quite rude.
The beaches were lovely spotlessly clean with clear blue seas (water bloomin freezing tho) Amadores beach was absolutely gorgeous and had loads of nice restaurants.
We only had episode with those sales people, we basically told them to get lost, and that was that, we did the same with the lucky lucky men. Will I be back...Absolutely!

We stayed in the Amadores area of Puerto Rico. The beach area was excellent, serviced by many shops, bars and resturaunts, many with take away food you could enjoy on the beach. The nightlife in the Europa Centre was all we required, it's much quieter than the Commercial Centre in the main Puerto Rico resort and more family orientated. Look out for the crazy paving on the walk up the hill. Although we tried many places, to start the day, we would highly recommend Turbo on the ground floor for breakfast and lunch, for an evening meal Amadeus on the first floor was second to none, the food and the service were exceptional and the restaurant and kitchen were spotlessly clean. For an early evening drink go to Jimmys in the far left ground floor next to Yates', where drink is cheap and will set you up for the night. But by far the best place to go is The Blarney Stone, on the ground floor, just follow the signs, the warm welcome and entertainment, in our opinion cannot be beaten. Paula, your compere is a star, Gary the resident singer will have you up singing and dancing in no time at all, with his amazing mix of Irish and contemporary music, Suzy, Brendan and Michelle will make sure your glass is never empty, expect five star treatment from them all. Guest artists such as Chris Mooney (a guitar genius)and Kimberley (the ultimate feminist), will either have you singing or laughing your head off. We made friends of them all and will be back very soon.

Lots of nightlife, mini golf, waterpark, boat trips etc.Resort is clean but lots of cockroaches at night time and they are really huge!!!Lovely beaches but beware in the daytime of promotion people who say they aren't timeshare but are!!Good piece of advice if your a family split up, i walked with my son and my husband walked behind a few steps they didn't bother you then.the places they are at are outside McDonalds and the entrance to the shopping area and down by the beach. These people ruined my holiday in Tenerife so they weren't going to do it again.Otherwise this is a nice resort bit noisy at nights until 4am depending on where your hotel is situated.

Stayed in Puerto Rico.
Resort was like blackpool with sun, too many arcades and the menu in every resturant was exactly the same, no culture atall.
Beaches were nice but far too many timeshare people around and at night you tending to get harrased by the locals into coming into their pubs and if you didnt they were very aggressive ( Europa centre )
Wouldnt visit this resort again.

Love! Love! Love Puerto Rico, Clean, friendly and warm! Plenty of bars and restaurants with entertainment in most of them, Most football matches etc screened, karaoke, hypnotists!! The beach was lovely but don't forget to keep your shoes on when walking on it, it gets very hot when walking on it. Promotions people for Anfi (time share ) hound you, beautiful place to see but don't be taken in by their offers of unlimited things to do if you go, swimming, water sports etc, they don't let you out of there sight, and the day will be spent looking round the place escourted by a sales person.
