The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

puerto rico is clean and the porlamar apartments are situated in a quiet area there is a shop in the apartments but at the bottom of the hill there is a supermarket which sells most things you need for self catering there is plenty of entertaiments in the town only a short distance to walk and the beach was only ten mins away if you walked a bit more you come to another beach which is not so crowded as the first there are plenty of bars and restaurants

The resort is beautiful.
Gorgeous weather because its at the south of the lsland.
The beach was nice too but as you would expect the sand gets so hot we had to leave by about 12 noon. During the daytime there is mini golf for the kids and also the aqua park but apart from that you really rely on what your hotel provides or chilling on the beach.
There is a public pool on the way to the beach which looked nice if you are at a hotel where you struggle to get beds, think it was around 8 euros for an adult.
The evening resort entertainment mainly revolves around bars and restaurants so again you do rely on what your hotel has on or what the tour operator provides, if your entertaining kids. There is a bar called Linakers in the commercial centre that claims to hold a kids disco at 7pm but during two weeks we never saw it.
Taxis are readily available everywhere around the resort and are always really professional and friendly. The prices were reasonable too with most trips around the resort costing less than 3 euros.
Lucky Lucky men are throughout the commercial centre as are the restaurant touts, but just say that you have already eaten. Timeshare guys didn't give us any problems just say no thank you. There are some lovely cheap restaurants in the upper level of the commercial centre.
There is a cheaper supermarket at the far end of the resort called Herdisa they also have a butchers and grocery shop. They are cheaper than Netto and Spar. They have wine for 75 cents!
We have already booked to visit this resort again but at a hotel with more facilities and a structured entertainment programme suitable for the whole family. Take a stereo radio there is a great radio station called power FM which is fantastic which a range of all sorts, nice to have around the apartment!

The Centro Commercial Was Only A Short Walk Away, This Is The Perfect Place To Spend Your Holiday. There Are Bars, Restaurants (including Steakhouses, Indians And Chinese) And Many Shops For Souveniers Or Just A Special Buy. There Is Lots To Offer here, Sports, Souveniers, Ice Cream And Food. There Is A McDonalds Just Past The Commercial Centre And Just Past There Is The Walk To The Beach. Along The Way Was A Mini golf And Many Stalls. Puerto Rico is a Fantastic Resort!

Puerto Rico is a very clean resort. We have seen the road sweepers out on a morning at 6.00am.There are rubbish bins every where so you have no excuse for throwing your rubbish on the floor. We have found the entertainment to be good for whatever takes your fancy from a quiet drink to lively bars and night clubs, bars with entertainment for families, bars with sports channels. We were lucky enough to watch the first 2 games of England at Lineakers. What an atmosphere. All the staff were into it,even Boyo the manager,he really got everyone joining in.There were face painting and England football songs, especially when we scored. The only thing I do not like is the people who try to get you into their businesses.Ok, their only doing their job but it is way over the top. Some just don't know when to take No for an answer and some even get hold of you to get you to go in.We even got hassled when my daughter was with us in her Thomson uniform.Don't they realise that if you wanted to go in you would and I'm sure we may have gone into a few more places had we not got hassled.I have heard people say that this happens alot in Turkey and puts them off going but having been going to Turkey for 14 years I can truthfully say it is worse in Puerto Rico and the worst thing is it is all English people that work there who are doing it.
