If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

The main strip (Av. de las Playas) was being dug up for new drains while we were there but it has to be done sometime. I didn't really cause any problems except the bus stops had all moved and were a little hard to find. There are dozens of restaurants on the strip (Quite a few owned by Lani's) and they were all good quality with a meal for 2 and drinks costing anywhere between 30 and 50 Euros. There are a large number of bars so you could generally find one that you like. Many had live entertainment and I have to give a special mention to Tito's Karaoke Palace (2 for 1 drinks till midnight).
The main beach was kept very clean by the sunbed guys and wasn't too crowded. The beach vendors are there every few minutes trying to sell you water/pop/ice cream etc. I got charged 2.50 for a small bottle of water by one which I could have got for 50 cents if I had gone to the supermarket, but I suppose they have to make a living. Having read many horror stories, I kept away from all the "bargain" electronic shops.
A public bus cost 5.20 each to go to Costa Teguise for the day which looks like a nice place and is where all the windsurfing seems to be if you want to try it. I thought 36 Euros for 1 hour was a bit steep though.
As you walk along the strip, you will get hassled to go into the restaurants and bars and given handfuls of flyers but most are OK with a polite refusal.
This was our 1st time in Lanzarote and we would definitely go back. It's probably not a clubber's paradise but there seems to be a good mix of entertainment for everyone and it felt safe to walk around.
I'd definitely give PDC the thumbs up!

A beautiful clean resort with lovely gardens. Cleaners and gardeners on duty wherever you looked. The only litter seen was english fag packers!!!The beaches were cleaned every morning and were spotless. There were plenty of entertainment places, night clubs etc. There are many good restaurants to choose from but our favourite was th Cappriccio, where the owner,Alex, did many flambe dishes in full view of diners. We were treated like valued customers from day one and will visit him again, as we say we will return for another late holiday next year. If anyone visits Alex before then please mention this report...From The Mora, blackberry man.

The bins in the side street where overflowing never saw them empty in the week we where there they stunk when you had to walk past them.
the amount of leaflets you get when walking the strip and get left on the floor as a result makes the strip look untidy in the daytime.

I have come back to Lanzarote year after year as it really is a place that anyone can visit. If you want a girls/guys holiday its perfect, if you want an older persons holiday its perfect, newlyweds, families - there is something for everyone. It is also very clean & the service in restaurants is 2nd to none. Also the beaches & water is amazing. Everyone I know that has been to Lanzarote has said the same - its practically the only one of the Canary Islands that hasnt been ruined yet & maintains a welcoming attitude - fabulous !!

Puerto del Carmen is somwhere that you can go whatever your age. For single adults you have Ceasars, Ruta 66 and Tropical. For couples of all ages and families you have fantactic restaurants. Universo is good for steak, American Indian Cafe for Breakfast and all have a fanastice view out to Fueterventura. This is a place you will always come back to.

I got very confused with this resort as I really couldn't work out where the old and new town were and where we were in relation to it. Reckon the bars was the new town, saw plenty of that. Never found the old town and the harbour which was a shame. Round by this apparment it is very quiet, nice enough for a same old same old meal.
Got to say Purple Turtle does have nice friendly service. The beach was very nice on the first day and within walking distance which was handy as the pool area was full. There is an excellent shopping complex 5 minutes walking away and the taxis were the only cheap thing with the exchange rate. 2 euros gets you to the new part. Finally for anyone who loves dance music should visit the Tequila bar which is practically the first bar by the main taxi strip.

The resort was clean and the resort entertainment was varied, the beach nearest was'nt very niceand a lot of rocks in the sea but you can get a taxi to take you to another beach quite cheaply.

Puerto Del Carmen a little like a mini Blackpool to me. Much prefer Playa Blanca. Not very suitable for disabled. Partner uses a buggy and pavements a nightmare. Low at one side and high at other!! Not a lot of live entertainment in New Town. Usually on top floor or down in basement not easy to access with walking disability.

Unfortunatley the two weeks we wre there they we installing new water pipes under the main road so most of the main strip along the front had a lot of heavey machinery working in the daytime, but i can say it did not bother us a great deal as we hve been before . the beach is very clean for people who like to spend the day by the sea.
