If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

Pool side apartments mean kids can just go and play while being watched from the apartment.

Puerto Del Carmen is a lively resort, great for people of any age.
We got a taxi into Puerto Calero a few times in the evening. It's a pretty marina, with a strip of restaraunts. Well worth a visit.

great resort, everything close by from shops, entertainment, bars and some good quality restaurants at fair prices.
Lani's steakhouse was excellent with good service and quality meats.

The resort was very clean but some of the pathways were in need of good repair. Bumpy pavements you could easily trip up in.
We were pleasantly surprised by the resort. Hadn’t been before and had heard good reviews. We weren’t disappointed. There is something to do for the grown ups but not a lot for the kids at night. The kids in our 2 parties were bored when the euros ran out. Maybe that just kids for you!!!!
The people in the bars were very friendly and great with the kids. Ricks bar was funny and fab and we loved keanes bar (Irish), this was our favourite for the friendly banter and the great entertainment. The hill to Los Lomas down to the main strip was not as steep as we had imagined. It was challenging pushing a 3 year old up in a buggy every night but not that bad. I and the other kids had fun racing up it. I am not fit!!!!!
The restaurants were lovely and we didn’t have one bad meal anywhere. We liked to go to a different one every night. There are deals on in most restaurants so it’s worth just having a walk up and down to find a good one. When we reached the bottom of cardiac hill we turned left every time. We found that this way was the best value. Palms, was a good bar for the kids. Evening entertainment. Parrot show. The kids loved that. You could sit outside on the terrace and have a great view of the sea. Take a jacket though, it drops quite cool. The breeze is great in the day but chilly at night. I would go here again but after the modernizations.

The restaurants on the strip are fab and excellent value for money we would recommend the New World Chinese...a meal for 2 for £6.50...great! Also Lani's italian was fab went back a second night as with the Chinese. Chiquito's was really good value too!
As far as nightclubs go I'd recommend Cesar's...free shots and a great atmosphere it was open til 6...the staff are lovely...Kenny, Rachelle and the other barmen are a really good laugh!!
Tito's kareoke bar is not 2 bad either..the Irish p.a will do his best to drag you in every time you pass!! Don't bother going further down the strip as it's disappointin and you literally get dragged into every bar..
The Big Apple is tiny so don't be mislead. Also Tropical Paridise is a rip off for drinks. So CESARS all the way!!!

Whilst we were there, we didn't treally visit any restaurants because we were staying half board but we experienced a great deal of night life.
Puerto Del Carmen has a variety of bars and clubs that are open to all hours and we particularly liked Big Apple and Tequila.
There are always loads of PR people on the main road through Puerto Del Carmen at night but don't go into the first place you find because you can often get better offers if you progress further. I think the best drinks deal we got was from Club Ibiza where is was 3 cocktails and a free shot for 6 euros, however, it is pretty quiet in there.
There are always free shots availaible in bars, just go up and ask for them, we found our nights out got cheaper as the week developed because we learnt where you could get free drinks. (Empire, which is up the stairs near some other bars, is particularly good at dishing out free drinks!)

I think the cleanliness was good.
The entertainment was very good lots of bars and discos. The Tropical bar with light up floors is great though we had a power cut the ngith we went to that club! There is a big shopping centre just at the old town with trampolines , lots of shops and a really good sweety shop!!
The beach was good very clean cleaner that the ones here back home! The water is lovely and isnt that cold to swim in especially it being the Atlantic!
I must say i would definetly visit the resort again because i thought it was a good holiday with hundreds of shop and lovely weather!!

The cleanliness of this resort wasn't a problem, but the standard of the paving is another matter (all you high-heel wearing ladies out there take note) but we have found this to be the case in many many spanish resorts!
We went out for a meal every night and found resturants & the staff very accommodating.
The beaches here are wonderful... really!
We are currently looking on the net for next years holiday to Puerto del Carmen, but will go later in the year as it was soooo hot in July. enjoy your stay, we did!

An excellent beach - although can get expensive if you hire sunbeds everyday (8 euros for 2 inc brolley) can soon add up.
Get your drinks and snacks before going to the beach - the frut man charged 10 euros for a yellow melon (which was about 1 euro in the supermarket)
Sun got really hot midday until about 3 - we recommend going down from 9.30 until about 1 and then have a walk about then perhaps more sun after 4 (like the spanish do)
The resort wasn't as clean as Benidorm but was far clearner than UK resorts.
PDC seems very popular with the Irish - lots of great eating places - don't just go to the first one you come to.
All in all highly recommended

Very lively and catered more for the young free and single, not much for family entertainment.
