Resort very clean, plenty of shops, cafes restaurants and bars and lots of trips on offer if required.

The resort was great, with lots to do, we went to all the bars in the evening rather than stay at the hotel, as the bar prices and service was terrible. Infact it was a nice change to see a smile and a friendly face in the bars in the resort. The beach was lovely, bit windy though. We found a little cove and beach just by the chinese restaurant, it was great.

Puerto del Carmen is the liveliest resort on Lanzarote. On the beach strip you could be anywhere as the bars and restaurants are the same as other resorts, but the beach is very long and really good with plenty of sun loungers. The north end is quieter. The Old Harbour is worth a visit and has more character. Taxis are pretty cheap, 3 euros back to the apartment. You can see the rest of the island in a day in a hire car, but it's worth spending time at the volcano.

The resort was good with plenty of bars/restaurants. Molly Malone's had the best breakfast on the island 3.50 euros which included tea and toast. The main beach was nice but we preferred the smaller one which wasn't as breezy. The old town was beautiful but a little bit more expensive than the new town where you can get a 2 course meal for 5 euros. Overall a very enjoyable holiday

Beaches are very clean.

Lots to do and places to go throughout the island. Also a very clean area.

The pavements where in bad condition badly in need of repair but the place was clean enough and very friendly.

We enjoyed our holiday and loved the night life. we loved the irish bars. The beach is great and I recommend the paddel boats. The old town was lovely and the new town was great. Can't wait to go again.

I stayed in Puerto Del Carmen for 3 months this year and I think it is a fantastic place to visit!

It is a very clean island with nice beaches. I used to go down to one of the little coves, much nicer and quieter than the main beaches.

Entertainment is great!( especially in the bar I was working in! hehe!)

Would definetly visit puerto del carmen again in the near future but as a holiday maker and not working this time!

Not much to say about PDC that hasn't been said, it's our favourite resort and we will return again and again.

We stayed in Puerto Del Carmen for a week from 14 - 21 April 2005. The weather was wonderful we only had 1 bad day that was because it was mainly overcast and the wind gave the day a feeling of being a bit chilly however for the most part we had mainly blue skies with intermittent cloud, temperature in the day range from about 20c to 26c degrees however on one day when the winds dropped to practically nothing we hit about 32c, night time temperatures were around 15c to 18c degrees. So if you do feel the cold we would recommend a jacket for the night time, we had several rain showers which were mostly in the mornings but these only lasted for a few minutes at a time.

We could not fault the Resort in any way. All of the Streets, Bar's and Restaurants are very clean.

The promenade along the main resort has an excellent choice of Bar's (most of which sells food in the day),

Restaurants and shops. The shops along the main promenade are interspersed between the Bar's and Restaurants, with variety of different types of shops, there are also shops in the 'old' town, in addition to this there is also a shopping mall which is quite easy to get to, however please note that a lot of the shops here are designer shops and items can be pricey, however the is a Spar here that you can by food at if you are on a self catering holiday. There are a lot small food shops near the complexes for convenience, however if you want to spend a bit less on food there are a number of small Spar's dotted throughout the Resorts back streets, and also a larger Netto, which is set back up a slight steep hill near the Bar 'Mulligan's'.

Food is reasonably priced, in our party there were 5 adults (one of which was a vegetarian) and 1 child, most days we only had a main course and drinks i.e. pop or beer, the meal bill was very rarely over 65 Euros and for the most part portions were of an excellent size. Although there is not a wide variety of choice for vegetarians there is usually some thing on the menu.

One place we would definitely recommend to eat at is a Mexican food restaurant called 'Chiquito' it is very nice restaurant and the food portions are extremely liberal, if you are someone who enjoys a good T-Bone steak then my Aunt would definitely recommend this place to you, just make sure that you don't eat for several hours before hand as the steak she had was almost the size of a sheet A4 paper was at least an inch thick, and was also reasonably priced.

There are also plenty of Bar's and Restaurants down in the harbour in the 'Old' town, if you don't wish to walk you can catch a Taxi, this will cost you between 2 to 4 Euros depending on where you are staying and where you are catching the Taxi from, while we were there, there where some road works going on and the Traffic was being diverted, however we caught the our Taxi's from the Taxi rank not far from McDonalds (yes there is a McDonalds there although this seemed to be frequented more by locals rather than tourists), but catching the Taxi from the Taxi Rank down to the harbour only cost us 3.50 Euros. All of the Taxi's are very clean and are mainly Mercedes, and the Taxi drivers for the most part are very friendly.

Please note if you have never been abroad before or to the Canary Islands it is customary to give a tip, also with the bill for evening meals most Restaurants/Bars will give you a complimentary shot, don't worry about being charged for this as, as I said it's complimentary.

We did visit the beach on one day, again not far from where McDonalds is situated, although the beaches here are dark sand due to Lanzarote being volcanic island it is a very fine sand, and like most beaches in hot country's gets very hot, children would be recommended to where footwear while on the sand, the sea although will feel cold to begin with, does actually feel warmer then the swimming pools at the complexes as the swimming pools in the complexes are not heated. There is quite a big sand bar on this stretch of beach and you can wade quite far, in addition to this the water is clean and clear and even at high tide you can still access the beach. The beach in general is also very clean and we did not see any rubbish or debris anywhere.

Ice-cream touts do wander along the beach however if you do fancy an Ice-cream but don't wish to be from the touts there is an ice-cream kiosk on the beach side of the promenade that sells a good selection of flavours which you can have in a cone or tub, also as strange as it may sound there are also Ice-cream Vending machines dotted around the resort, some Restaurants also have Ice-cream kiosks as well.

Would we visit this resort again, the answer is definitely yes, I myself actually came out to Lanzarote - Puerto Del Carmen 2 years ago with a friend and enjoyed myself that much persuaded my family to come.

If you are adventurous and like going on trips, I would recommend the Submarine Trip, it is a little pricey compared to the other trips that can be on offer from your Travel Company Reps given the amount of time it takes, however it is definitely worth it, I have done this trip twice and should I return again to Lanzarote I would definitely do it again, as both trips down to the bottom of the ocean (they take you down about 30 metres) were different.
