Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

Try for South facing appartment. Food in onsite bar is good but loads of local restaurants are a short walk away

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

I found Puerto del carmen to be a friendly place, good entertainment in the pubs, plenty of places to eat out, staff in restaurants are very nice. Puerto del carmen is a nice couples & family holiday destination. Make sure to tour the island as there are a few sights to see.

Great resort. Lots to do and see. Big, safe beach. Suites all from singles to families.

The resort it's self was brilliant. There is plenty bars and places to eat.
And for the children there is a play area right at the front were they have mini golf and trampolines (2 euro ago for 30 minutes which wouldn't break the bank), and bungee trampolines too which kept the amused.
Lots and lots of shops aswell to buy the odd pressie for the folks back home.Great holiday in a whole.

just back from puerto del carmen in lanzarote. would definately recommend it to anyone. families esspecially. there's not a lot of clubs discos etc but bars restaurants in abundance. great chinese restaurants and waiter all so friendly. beach is the volcanic sand so didn't bother goin to it at all while i was there. i would go back to puerto del carmen any time. hope this is usful to anyone planning on going.

This resort was like Blackpool but with sun. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, but also people hassling you to buy time shares, go to clubs, pubs etc, and when you try and ignore them they hassle your kids instead. The beach is nice but parents beware, watch your kids in the sea as there are some weirdos about! It depends what you want from a resort but I wouldn't go back there, but then I didn't want to go there in the first place and had booked to go to a different resort six months prior to departure but the holiday company changed it 48 hrs before and said it was there or no-where basically.

Lively resort with a very busy and clean beach. There is also the quieter beaches at Picollos and Matagorda which are also very nice. There are the usual nick nack shops for souveniers and loads of restaurants and fast food joints. This resort had loads of Irish bars and there were a lot of Irish holidaymakers which was nice as they are very friendly. This is a very busy resort in August but not loutish.

The resort its self has something for everyone, and some of the nightlife was excellent, (try "Titti Trollope's" live show, great fun). Prices were reasonable and food very good, beach was clean but generally very busy. Our kids (12 & 13) loved it.

Puerto del carmen is a great place to visit. Everything you need, shops, restaurants etc is a close walk. the water park at teguise was abit expensive for what was there. i've definitely been in better.

Old town:brilliant for food fresh fish etc. you can watch the food being cooked infront of you, also more suited for children with ballpits, trampolines etc. didnt think it was very clean and the paths were terrible! easy to get a taxi but be carefull crossin roads as not many cars stop. new town: good for food also, more suited for teenagers with a 3 mile stretch of clubs, pubs, bars etc the night doesnt finish till 6am taxis are regular too and over all a brilliant lot of entertainment!!

We stayed at Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote.
the resort was lively enough for families but not at all rowdy.
There was an excellent choice of bars and restuarants, we ate out every night for 2 weeks and never had a bad meal.
The only thing to watch out for is the restuarants that show the prices ouside but those prices dont include tax - this can add quite a bit to your bill if you are not careful, but most places do include tax in the price.
We took a grand tour of the island, which I think is a must. It is a unique place in repsect of sightseeing.
