Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

Avoid like the plaque its dirty and unclean and the pool area was dirty and un safe the stairs leading in the pool was broken I had to complain about it

My top tip is to get the bus from the airport as it stops at the top of the road by Magna Building save on transfers

Playa De Las Americas has many shops, bars and restaurants to suit families, couples, and singles who want their resort to be busy and have everything at their doorstep.

We were impressed by the standard of the local beaches especially Fanabe, likewise the restaurants there were excellent. However the direct path from the beach does contain steps and would not suit every one.
We had a day out at the nearby Eagle park which was good with a free bus service to the park picking us up from the end of the road. The nearby Harbour had excellent boat trips available to see the whales and dolphins which my daughter particularly enjoyed

The area of Adeje is absolutely excellent, there is a lot to do and a lot of Irish Bars nearby to the hotel, all with great entertainment. There are a lot of restaurants nearby for all kinds of people who like different kinds of food. I was always at the takeaway across the road, in the Aberdeen Steakhouse or the Chinese next door.
There is also a good shopping centre called San Eugenio just down from the hotel for all kinds of souvenirs as well as a downstairs cheap supermarket.
I would definitely recommend this area of Playa De Las Americas for staying in.

Ratings apply in the area of Parque Santiago 3, Veronicas is a different matter.

Resort exceptionally clean with many new trendy shops. Main roads and pathments very dangerous due to re-building process currently underway.

To be honest, did'nt go out at night much in the resort as we were all - inclusive, so when we did wander down to veronica's strip with the kids for a nose, we thought it was very over-rated to what we have seen on tv. Reps for the bars were a pain trying to drag you in, but you get that everywhere. I thought the shopping precincts were nice, and the beaches were ok, better beaches at home where i live. Went to the bluebirds bar, which was really friendly and clean. The water park opposite our hotel was really good. We'd go back there.

The resort is ok a bit tatty looking and very tacky, would not take my children here in the height of season but I visited playa de las americas aug 2002 for a hen week so it was perfect for that holiday

Despite it having a reputation for being "rough" we loved it here, although our accomodation was poor the resort itself was brilliant.
Veronicas has always been the same..overpriced and filthy but there are other parts that are much nicer and more geared for families. We spent many enjoyable evenings in some of the cabaret bars and had a great time!! I recommend Flannigans and Princess Di's both were brilliant!!
Eating out is really cheap and there are many very nice places, The calafornia have an excellent menu..its the one that you have to go down steps to get into as there are 2!. There are endless chinese restaurants and take aways, some of which we tried and found them all to be very nice. We went to the water park but all in all found it a bit disappointing, loro Parque is worth a visit though that was a brilliant day out for us. There are whale and Dolphin tours which I would have loved to go on but couldnt with the kids but people we spoke to said it was unlikely to see dolphins but I would still have liked to go!
There are things that we would certainly go back for, but I would recommend all families pick your accomodation carefully as some are very close to the noisy parts....and remember its around 6.30am when veronicas shuts!! I think the newer idea of seperating places for the 18-30's and families is a brilliant idea, that way everyone gets the holiday that they are looking for without disturbing the others!
I will be going back again, but think I would opt for the quieter option of Los Cristianos rather than risking another bad choice in Las Americas.

I found the area we stayed in quite dirty, not that many restaurants or bars. Was ok though for family break and the beach was close by.

Good resort for all couples familys singles groups of lads groups of girls all will find some thing they like very big so loads to do from nice little harbour retaurants to clubbing all night.
