Attached to the Hotel is a bar, well worth sitting here at night - only thing is your all-inclusive option stops the moment you go past reception so drinks aren't free here.

As mentioned the main beach is rather pebbly and yes is sore on the feet but we got used to it without buying the shoes! The sea does shelve quite sharply and one day the waves were quite large but as we love the sea we thought it was great. May not be to everyone's tastes though and would not be so good for young children.
The lagoon is lovely and we took the complimentary bus to Sugar Beach...much better for children but as the water isn't flowing we found it not as clean as the other side.
The resort itself is quite small and easy to navigate around. The best restuarant we found was The Olive Tree, which is part of the Montebello Beach Hotel....really good meze and the turkish chicken, rice and vegetables is to be recommended.
Also, for steak the Buffalo restaurant I think it is called (part of The Flying Dutchman), where Elvis plays on a Tuesday and Friday is without doubt the best steak in town. Yes it is more expensive but you get a really good service and with your main meals you have a complementary salad bar, which is more like cold meze that you help yourslef to. The staff are really friendly and the place is run like clockwork.
We ate out every night including Captain Hook, Sultan Pepper, Cherry Chow to name a few. Ok....but usually one part of the meal disappointed, either good starter and poor main course or ok food but service not so good for example. We also ate at the Oyster Residence on the front. Lovely setting and the meal was good but it didn't live up to the expectation of the nice setting and ambience. Lots of bars to choose from. We particulary liked the Help bar on the front, great atmophere and excellent position for people watching.
The Buzz Bar was one of our least favourite places. Although great to sit on their bean bags on the beach, getting your change back when you paid was an impossibiltiy. Then the cheek of charging for entrance to the toilets was the last straw. Menu pricey and think others felt this as restaurant never full. However, the kebab place that I think is part of the Buzz bar was the best in Olu Deniz! Certainly filled a hole when we first got there at 1am!!
We went up to Hisaronu once....and that was enough. Decided to go just to see what it was like and fancied a Chinese....meal at Shanghai Blues was good but we found the resort to have no character and just be a concrete noise! We were very gald to get back to the chilled out atmosphere of Olu. Yes Hisaronu is cheaper but we would rather pay for a nicer place to be honest.
Our best meal was in Fethiye. We made our way to the fish market, chose our seabass and king prawns and had it cooked in one of the restaurants...amazingly fresh and a great experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Olu Deniz. Whilst there the paragliding competition was on. Some reviews (not necessarily on this site) make out that the paragliders in general are a nuisance landing on the promenade...what a load of rubbish! If you can't see them comiong in for landing you must be blind plus they don't come down all day every day...it is in blocks every couple of hours. Also there is another walk way parallel to the main front promenade so they can be avoided! One did manage to take out a power line one evening though for about an hour!
Olu Deniz was everything we wanted for our holiday and you could do as much or as little as you wanted.

The resort itself is stunning but can get very hot in the valley (got up to mid 40`s c while we were there), then again that’s why we went.
Excursions; Boat trip go to Fethiye (free pick up and return) Gulet style boat not the horrible double deck flat things in Olu Deniz booked with Alfie at Focus half way down main shopping street, near Tesko. He will do a good price. Also booked Paragliding twice with Alfie again good price and service (dvd £20 12 minutes long). Do jeep safari with pleasure but expect to get wet through within 10 minutes of leaving Fethiye and I mean wet, not as much fun as when we did it last year. The guide this year not as much fun, so not as good.
Only one bad experience. My son and 3 others did paragliding with Easy Rider, booked to go up as a group of four and did not get what they was promised, son did not take off until other’s had landed 45 minutes later. So of course as parents you get a little anxious, with very little information from Easy rider staff. In the end got down safe and sound but with a few grazes for his trouble. This company do not provide protective flight suits like all the other companies. They then want 60 lira (approx £24)for a 5 minute dvd. So if you are going to run off the mountain go with Focus or Sky sports. I flew with them last year. Sunset cruise from Fethiye is absolutely superb booked with Sky sports. £12 including transfer to boat, meal, dancing, singer and swimming. Did not get back to Fethiye till 00 30, wish we had found this in the first week we could have gone again then.

what a fantastic resort this is , it has fantastic resteraunts, sunsets to die for when sitting on the beach or in one of the beachfront bars having a cocktail.
there are a couple of Kareoke bars and smaller bars that play music if thats what you want or total relaxing chill out bars .
would we go basck again ?
the answer would most definately be yes, tommorrow if we could.

This is a fairly quiet resort, but you can travel into Hisaronu which takes about 10 minutes in a taxi if you fancy somewhere a bit livelier.

olu deniz is a really lovely place........just a good size to be able to find your bearings in 1 day. good bars and restaurants and if your into adventure you must go paragliding. Approx. £50 but well worth it....although the drive up the mountain is more frightning than the actual paragliding....but well worth it. the beach is lovely but not a sandy beach (small rocks)very uncomfortable on the feet.......but there is a bus that will take you to a small beach in the Lagoon for free..just ask someone....I think it is called Sunny beach. you watch all the paragliders landing on the beach!....1 of the best holidays I have been on .....Hisaronu is 2 mins. up the hill if you want to go clubbing......I dont think anyone would be dissapointed with Olu deniz.....and very nice people......Been to other resorts in Turkey and this was by far the best.

Probably the most scenic place I have ever been to. Main beach is very pebbly and difficult to get in (once you get in its OK)
We found a great little place around the lagoon called the Sugar Beach Club and spent most of our days chilling out on the sunbeds and chill out lounges. It is free entry and the staff there were really friendly. To get there you need to follow the road past the post office and the beach section where they charge you to get in. Its about a 5 minute walk but you get get the hotel to call them and they will come and pick you up. They have little bungalows so maybe we will just stay there next year???

Olu Deniz is a lovely spotless resort set in between the mountains. There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops including an AZDA supermarket !! which was good value with a good selection. There are also lots of clothes shops selling good quality fake designer gear each with their own friendly staff outside trying to entice you in LOL. They often price their products in Lira, Euros and pounds although we found that if you pay in lira they round it up to the next full lira so it costs slightly more !! Its definitely worth haggling we did and saved quite a bit. Alot of places will change english money for lira but only the jewellers and hotels will change travellers cheques if we went again i wouldnt take cheques just cash. We stayed in the hotel in the evenings but many bars advertised entertainment. The beach was very clean but very a cross between shinle, pebbles and broken shells, great for exfolliating your feet but quite painful !!! would definitely recommend buying some beach shoes ( Not sandals) that they sell in some of the shops. You can walk into the sea and swim in them as they have a rubber sole. There are also lots of companys selling trips we went on a truck safari which we booked with the rep but was with a company called evergreen which was a great day out in the mountains, visiting an ottaman village, lycian tombs and included lunch of freshly cooked trout or chicken at a riverside setting. We also went on a six island boat trip which left from the beach and also include lunch and cost £6 each. we left the beach at about 11am and returned at 6.30pm and visited six different places some of which you could swim from the boat and some you could get off the boat and stop for a while. Both trips were great days out. We also caught the bus from the other end of the beach into Hisaronu and then changed buses and went to Kayakoy for a few hours to walk round the old ghost village, This cost £16 for buses and entry to the village for 3 of us ( 2 adults, 1 child) We would definitely visit olu Deniz again if we wanted to come to this area of turkey again.

We stayed at the Olu Deniz resort for 2 weeks in May 2008. We arrived in the middle of the night and did not really know where we had landed, so it was a huge surprise in the morning - the resort is STUNNING. Huge mountains surround Olu Deniz and paragliders sail above all day long, landing at the top of the beach.
There is so much to do, we went on almost all of EASY RIDERS trips with Gorgeous George – (highly recommended – right on the beach front) they have their own boat for the 12 island cruise which has a slide running through the middle, (it was so good we did this trip twice), horse riding to the Ghost Town, The bus & boat trip to the mud baths at Dalaman (really stinky) and Turtle Bay, also the Turkish Baths – which was quite an experience!!
Paragliding is a must, although the trip up to the top of the mountain is scarier than the jump off!! There is a little market in Hisaronu, on a Monday, which is only 10 minutes away on the bus, and the big market in Fethieye on a Tuesday (about half an hour away), both well worth a visit. The only slight disappointment for us was the stony beach – although beautiful to look at is very uncomfortable to walk on although there were beach shoes available if you wanted.
I would definitely say that Olu Deniz is the most spectacular resort I have seen.

Shame about the shingly beach but the most gorgeous setting and well placed bean bags at the top of the beach with a bar to watch the sun go down.
Although you get asked by EVERY shop/restaurant to try them, a polite No Thank You was well respected and never got any hassle.
Already looking to book again, it was so beautiful!
