Attached to the Hotel is a bar, well worth sitting here at night - only thing is your all-inclusive option stops the moment you go past reception so drinks aren't free here.

Beaches

The beach was a bit of a let down from the photos especially the blue lagoon. It's all pebbles and shale and hard to walk on unlesss you wear diving shoes or trainers.

Olu Deniz was a surprise, pedestrianised, lots of restaurants and bars. We ate a lot of good meals, only one did we feel ripped off, but hey that happens in the UK. Our son went on a tandem para glide with Sky Sports, a little expensive, but they seemed the best overall.
The cherry chow was a nice bar to sit and watch the world go by in the evening, Micheal Jackson look alike and some excellent lads dancing and a mad man swinging fire about!!
Our children went to the pool bar at night, music on and safe for young teens.
Did not go down to the beach as quite rough on the old feet unless you buy the special shoes for all the stones.
Stayed by the pool as it was very hot, did want to go to the mud baths, but would have really baked as it as 45% every day going up by a few degrees towards the end of our holiday. Too hot for me.

Olu Deniz is an attractive resort, picturesque, surrounded by mountains on 3 sides and facing the mediterranean. We found that there was a quite a lot of litter on the streets approaching the main sea front area, which was generally cleaned to a higher standard. There are some great restaurants to eat at in the evenings. We enjoyed Cloud 9, Buzz Bar, Belcekiz Plaza, to name a few. There is something to suit all tastes and some great cocktail bars along the sea front, where you can nestle into a comfy bean bag with your glass, to watch the spectacular sunsets. Paragliders are landing on the front from early morning til sunset, so this offers some entertainment whilst having your evening meal. We also found that we were not hassled too much by the restaurant staff, trying to tempt us into their establishment..if you said "no thank you", they just replied with "see you another time then". It was a pleasure to come back to Olu Deniz after a days sightseeing. Trips well worth booking are the mud baths and loggerhead turtle beach, the 12 island boat cruise, Saklikent gorge and Yaka park, amongst numerous other possibilities. A turkish bath and massage is a must!

Part pebble and part sand beach, it was amazingly quiet for time of year. A lovely beach but ashame that tourists spoil it by dumping their cig ends all over it.
The 'Blue Lagoon' was not as nice as the main beach in our opinion, especially the private Olu Deniz bit which was horrible.
Resort has nice bars but not much going on. A 5 min bus ride to Hiseranu is worth it for the evening entertainment. There are pool tables, quizzes and live music to keep the kids happy.
Olu Deniz is very laid back and friendly with beautiful scenery.

Loved the resort. Suited us as we werent looking for any nightlife if you are its not the place for you. There are some great lively bars which show sport etc and some nice cocktail bars. I think prices have gone up quite a bit since we were last there. Down the main drag they vary a little but something like Spag Bolognaise is 14Lira which is about £6 a chicken dish is about 20Lira so around £8. If you go over the the main road then prices are a little cheaper. Drinks arent cheap, they are 6Lira for a glass of wine about £2.50 and a small glass of fanta is 3.50Lira which is about £1.75 i guess. Cocktails are 15Lira which is £6.
It is great watching the paragliding which land on the beach and just missing the restuarant roofs sometimes lol.
Everyone is really friendly but they will try to get you into their restuarants as you walk past and they remember you.
The beach isnt great to be honest, it starts off course sand and then it goes to shingle and stone. You defo need the beach shoes they sell there to be able to manage walking on the stone as it will really hurt your feet if you dont and getting out of the sea walking on those stones will really hurt. But the beach is clean and at night you can sit in a beanbag with a drink and watch the sun go down with low lighting and soft music.

This is the most chilled out, relaxed resort I have visited in Turkey. Although very much catering for the Brits, it isn't too tacky. Lots of great arts and crafts and lots of Turkish culture still evident. Sugar Beach Club down at the Lagoon is a must, any hotel will call the free bus for you, far superior location and facilities than the Seahorse (just next door) that Alize promotes. Chill out between 3 and 7pm at cocktail happy hour, dare you to not forget any stresses!

Excellent resort, its popularity is increasing with the good exchange rate. The Laggon and beach are both great, the beach is quite pebbly so take some good swimming shoes and you'll be fine, the sea had varying levels and be quite choppy so be careful with smaller children or weak swimmers. The lagoon is great for snorkelling and relaxing for the day.
There is an ample selection of restaurants serving cuisine from all around the world, for american try the buffalo bar, for Italian try Toscana for Turkish try the Olive Tree or Sultan Ahmet, whatever you do, do not miss Help Beach Bar for any time of the day or night for great food and staff.
There is a dolmus stop at the end of the strip where you can get a bus to Hisaronu or Dalaman, do go exploring and use the public transport it's a great experience, if you want to go on organised trips use Focus, the Jeep safari is highly recommended but be prepared for lots of water fights and a very long day.
All in all Olu Deniz had everything, if you want a chilled holiday it's there but you can also get a really good night out and dance til dawn at Buzz Bar or Crusoes if you like

Our first time in Turkey and what a great 1st impression. We were there for only one week but managed to pack so much in it felt longer.
Oludeniz itself is relatively quite with mainly small to medium sized hotels. You are spoilt for choice with restraunts, to the point that your not sure to begin with where to eat. We used the Buzz bar where the food was great and with a very chilled feel to it. If you want to eat on the terrace you are better to book and the cocktails are abundant.
Although we didn't go Hisaranou which is 5 mins away by local dolmus(bus)it has a lively nightlife. Oludeniz in the evening is for eating and chilling.
Oludeniz is clean and the people friendly and although they may approach you a polite no thank-you is all it takes if you are not interested. We were reliably informed that the local people work for six months during the season. 12 plus hours a day without a single day off and earn very little, which has to last many of them during the off season.
There are many activities and excursions avaliable from Oludeniz. We used two operators "Guide Tours" and "Easy Riders" can't speak for the many others but both of them offered great service, pick ups from hotel, wonderful buffet lunches and we felt great value for money for the experiences.
By a happy accident on our first day we did the Butterfly valley boat trip with "Guide Tours". We would really recommend this as a way to ease into your holiday, it lasts from 10.30am till 5ish and you gently cruise along the coast stopping off at various beaches.
Our second day we went to Pamukkale which was great when you got there and we are glad we went, but be prepared for a long day on a coach we left 6am and returned 9pm.
Day three was for the beach we chose the Blue Lagoon where there is a small cost as it is a national park. Again we found it clean safe and chilled at that time of year.
Day four and we found ourselves on the Jeep Safari with Easy Riders this offered great value for money and included more than we thought:- off roading, fish farm, Saklikent gorge(small entry fee) free buffet lunch, water rafting (optional extra cost), Mud bath, visit to carpet weavers and to end a trip to Calis beach. The team that took us lead by Michael was fantastic and very entertaing and you have a photographer (a Dead ringer for Jack Sparrow) with you for the day to capture everything. You can purchase the photos on CD at the end of the day and include many shots that we couldn't have taken of the area.
Day five a relaxing morning horse ride up to Kayakoy village then the Blue Lagoon.
And finally the holiday highlight the paragliding. I'm speechless what a life experience (and yes I was nervous before going) I would go back just for that absolutly incredible experience. If you want they will for a cost video your decent. The pilot I had was a sky diving instructor with 22 years experience and is in the national team. And I felt completly safe from take off to landing.
Sorry this has turned into a diary lol, but it was a great holiday and we will without doubt be returning, as we feel we have only scratched the surface. Hope any one going enjoys it half as much as we did.
