Attached to the Hotel is a bar, well worth sitting here at night - only thing is your all-inclusive option stops the moment you go past reception so drinks aren't free here.

Didnt really go out of the hotel at night as drinks in the bars were expensive and our hotel served AI drinks until 2.00am!
However we did take walks out for a look around and the holidaymakers who we saw in the bars did seem to be enjoying themselves an the music was good.
Plenty of shops and stalls some of which you did get more hassle to come in an look etc but a simple no thank you did the trick.
We used a company called Pioneer Travel at the bottom of the main strip and they were really good. We only went on one trip to Dalyan Mud Baths which we got for 16.00 each an that included food a lunch time but no drinks, although the drinks were reasonably priced. Atti our tour guide was fab, really knew his stuff an a nutter lol !
The beach was nice although pebbly and was clean, didnt actually go into the sea so dont know what it was like here. The blue lagoon at the very end was ok, nothing spectacular but heard the lagoon closer to hotel was far better!
I would come back to Olu Deniz as it was lovely but would choose a different hotel to the one we stayed in.

0lu Deniz resort is lovely, Just the right size for us and all pedestrianised so no worry about the roads. Its mainly made up of a long strip running down the centre of the resort which then turns into a t juction at the beach with further shops, restaurants etc along there. There are a number of shops and restaurants. The Turkish people do ask you if you want to come in but a polite no was fine and they leave you alone(certainly not harrassed like in Marmaris) in fact they were all very friendly and so nice with the children. One shop we went in the man was asking about the kids and even gave my dauhghter a small teddy bear purse. They cannot do enough for the kids and they actually got seated at restaurants before us:) Watching the paragliders coming in was entertaining and we spent a few nights sitting at pubs watching them. The beach is normal turkish beach. There is sand but it does have stones in with fag ends and some dog mess. I cant say I liked the beach as to me it seemed unclean. We went to the Blue Lagoon once. It is quite a trek to it and to be honest we didnt think it was worth it. The photos show a lovely blue lagoon whereas in reality its just sand and clear water. It was lovely and warm though. It is nice but just dont expect what you see in the brochures.
Overall we liked the resort and my husband would like to return which is a first.

The whole resort is absolutely beautiful.. the water really is so blue and the mountain that stands beside the resort is now "my mountain". It is a sight to die for and the best place to go paragliding from.. the scenery is stunning.
The beach, as has previously been mentioned in other reviews, is sand/shingle but we went on it and it was easily bearable, there was a JCB type machine turning it over and flattening it each morning so it really wasnt so bad at all.
many of the hotels werent open which was actually better in my opinion as it meant that there wasnt loads and loads of noise all the time, it was just nice as far as I am concerned. Enough people to be sociable but not too crowded.
There was plenty to do, paraglidng etc, which we did... twice!!. I wanted to go a third time before we left but i think my son was over tired and so not 100% so i felt it would be selfish to go again, but we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked with Galaxy, which was £35 each with a little haggling. Sedat (from Galaxy) was a real sweetie, I forgot my bikini and his friend lent me a bag full of them for my stay, I didnt actually use them but it was a real nice thing to do anyway. Whenever we walked past he always called out and waved to us or invited us over to chat and drink with him. They also do a great Turkish bath for £10, picking you up at the hotel, and many boat trips and excursions.
Our Pilots were great guys, also working for Easy riders who are a "sister company" with Galaxy. The first time we went I had someone, really cant think of his correct name but people called him what I can only describe as Gerraby, (been gliding for 20 yrs and skydiving for 10 so well experienced) he was a tall guy who sang to me on the jump, also filmed me and he also went really low over my hotel so that I could wave at people. He took my son the second time. someone called Buresh (not sure of the spelling) took me the second time, he is the chief Pilot with them, only a small guy but really knew his stuff. My sons pilot the firt time was a younger guy who was real nice, making him feel that he had really achieved a great thing which pleased my son no end... as he landed, all the ones on the ground were all hifgh~fiving my son and made him feel really special.
The Sea horse along the front was a nice place to eat. we went in a few days and one evening and had drinks and snacks.. there was a lovely bg fire in the centre which was nice as it did become chilly at night, but we really cant complain at that, the weather was great all day long, well into the 20's every day, some days even TOO warm for my son, which was a very pleasant surprise for the time of year.
The whole resort was lovely, no hassle... of course they wanted you to go in their establishment but there was never any pressure or what could be called "hassle".. they were just really lovely friendly people.
I will go again to Olu Deniz.. as soon as is humanly possible, I have fallen in love with the resort and "my mountain" and also being a blonde with a child... i could have got used to all the pleasant attention...none of it was negative or made me feel uncomfortable in any way.. in fact, when my son is away with the school next year, I am definitely going back and have no qualms about going alone.

Travelling to Olu Deniz on the 3rd April 2009 was the first mistake. The resort was like a ghost town, this was the first day of the new season, and as a result of this no shops or restaurants were open, and the side streets were in need of a good clean. The beach was being cleared of debris that had gathered during the closed season, this work was still taking place into our second week. The beach itself looks more inviting when viewed from above, at ground level it is not as the adverts would have you believe, the sand is more like grit and more than half its area is pebbles. Not very safe for kids as it drops suddenly as you walk out. As for the blue lagoon, should have been named the grey lagoon, not worth the visit, and additionally, the whole area had a stale smell about it. The only entertainment available outside the hotel was ten pin bowling. The second week saw the shops begining to have stock delivered. I would visit the area again, not to stay, only to take part in the paragliding

Resort cleanliness-The resort was deserted for the first few days after our arrival, and soon afterwards the shops started to take delivery of stock, and thankfully some restaurants started to open. The side streets were in need of a clean sweep, which should have taken place prior to the resort opening.
Resort entertainment- the only entertainment during our stay was ten pin bowling and a couple of pubs showing football.
The beach was being cleared by hand, by a handfull of workers, which made it a slow process, and the work was still taking place when we left. The beach was not quite as picturesque as the brochure would have you believe.
The private beach belonging to the hotel is about 1.5 miles away, at the far end of the Blue Lagoon, neither of which is worth the walk. The Blue lagoon looks beautiful in brochures, but in reality, nothing special, and with such a small inlet, the water is not able to be completely flushed out, and as a consequence is stagnant, and smells. Back at the main beach outside the hotel, if you want to hire 2 sun loungers for the day, it will cost £14.00. Would I visit the resort again? NO.

Olu Deniz is a beautiful place, friendly people, stunning scenery, vibrant, superb restaurants.
Recommend Cousins (Chris & Jeff) for excellent English Food and Buzz Bar and Seahorse for Turkish/English Food (both very popular)

Olu Deniz is a beautiful spot for a holiday with plenty to do if you want to be active but if you want a quiet, relaxing break then you can have it too. The lagoon is a conservation area and as you pass through the gates a beautiful silence descends and it seems as if the outside world has gone. There is a charge for the loungers but it is worth while if it helps maintain the quality of the area. There is a huge variety of trips available if desired, loads of different places to have a wide assortment of meals and plenty of bars if that is what you want. It is 15 years since I have been here and obviously it have been developed but it is still very beautiful.
