The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Again, taking advice from these boards, we did mostly our own trips, using our legs, buses and taxis. Although we did book the Zig Zag Safari, which was excellent. Unfortunately due to the fires earlier on this year we had to go on another route, and Palmitos Park is closed until further notice, due to the fires.
Word of warning if you plan to go on the Playa de Englise by night trip, it’s more or less for the youngsters. We did go, but did our own thing, meeting up with the coach a time later.
We did go to Anfi, not as a timeshare trip, but by taxi and ferry back.
Puerto Mogan is very quaint and we went on the ferry, hoping to see the dolphins, no such luck, but we did see a couple of flying fish. We avoided market day, which is Friday’s, were told by people who had already been, it was like the CC but with stalls.
On the whole the resort was quite clean, although the parks to the beach could do with a makeover. The beaches and sea however were very clean and most days teaming with fish, enabling lots of snorkelling and a few hours of scuba diving.
Commercial Centre, tons of bars, restaurants and shops to suit everyone’s tastes. We did try recommendations from here, but we found San Miguels the best value for money.
For a good night's entertainment we followed the Drag Queens, and had a splendid evening (not for the kids.
For the best meal, (haute de cuisine) we found the best restaurant at Amadores, the Palma restaurant, which is the first one you come to as you walk down the slope from Puerto Rico.
Flippers at Amadores sell fabulous takeaway baguettes.
Word of warning when buying duty free, cigarettes, alcohol and perfume etc, make sure you ask for a discount and that tax is included. We got ripped off on arrival, finding a shop that sold the cheapest, and then having negotiated a discount got stung for tax. Also watch for the special offers on perfume/eue de toilette, we picked up what we thought was perfume/eue de toilette to be told by someone else it’s a body spray.
Oh and you can only bring back 200 cigs/ tobacco and 1 litre of spirits, unlike mainland Spain, which is, anything goes.
I could spend all day writing here, we thoroughly enjoyed Puerto Rico, temperatures varied from 26-31c. We felt safe and not at all threatened in any shape or form, and came back home thoroughly relaxed.
I could come back on my own, if only there were only single rooms available, so if anyone can come up with a suggestion, I would be delighted.

Our stay at Peurto Rico was very enjoyable and we sampled various bars and restuarents.
If you want value for money food the i would visit Squires restuarent or if you want a special meal with service to match then Oscars is the place to go.You do pay fr it though.
As for bars we tended to drift towards Harbour Lights which had an extra long happy hour from 7.00pm till midnight. 2 pints San Miguel for 3 Euros.
The staff at Harbour Lights are fantastic especially Simon,Jackie and Janette.
Although we tended to just chill out during the day there is plenty to do including watersports, boat trips. Infact one of our party even booked a scuba dive.
All in all we had a great time and we will be returning in the next couple of years

the resort we stayed in was great, everywhere was so clean and beautiful. the beaches were lovly, we were always down at puerto rico beach cos the sand was softer there but amadoras beach beach was a lot prettier but the sand wasn't very nice to walk on. The restraunts by the beach were sp romantic, there were right on the beach. The centres were good but we liked the europa cenre best because it was closer to us i think. would i go again? yes i think i would.

Peurto Rico is a lovely resort, very clean with plenty of entertainment for all ages. The downside is that it can be quite hilly, but if you stay near the marina it is very flat and picturesque.
There are plenty of food shops, you would never starve, and water is so cheap, just a bit heavy to carry.
Plenty of shops for booze but you have to shop around as they are all trying to undercut each other.
You can't go to Puerto Rico without getting a taxi to the top-Europa Centre-it is unbelievable.

Our first visit to Gran Canaria and Puerto Rico and we came away impressed with both.
Puerto Rico is a full-on tourist resort seemingly catering to all the nations of Northern Europe - which means just about everyone in the tourist game speaks English.
It is a hilly town and would be difficult for anyone with mobility problems.
But taxis are cheap and plentiful, it feels safe and there are plenty of activities - including boat trips to see dolphins, parascending, a jet boat, ferries to Mogan and Arguineguin, and cheap and frequent buses to places such as Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles.
Plenty of good bars and restaurants - La Cantina, El Trebol, the Waikiki and The Pagoda were our favourites.
We had some great nights at the Dicey Reilly Irish pub in Centro Comercial Puerto Rico and enjoyed the music of Finbar Noonan and comedian Tommy Tucker.
Things I didn't like - being unable to browse in the many electronic shops without being hassled with offers of very cheap video cameras - the golden rule here is be very, very wary, the bargain might not be what it seems - and the holiday club reps.
But after a while you get used to brushing them off - and I would recommend you do that, otherwise you will find yourself being whisked off to some hotel for a "presentation'' before you know it.

Resort is very clean and well kept, we visited in October and found only one bar had live entertainment on at night, but we were not there looking for entertainment, i am commenting on our particular area at beach level, and there could be more lively bars up on the hill top, which you can visit by taxi for approx 3 Euros, or if you fell fit you can climb the hundreds of steps that take you to the top of the resort, there is a good selection of places to eat out, not a huge amount to choose from but we were very happy with the evening meals we had each night, a choice of Indian, Chinese, Greek, and British food, was quite sufficient for our weeks holiday, one of our favourite bars was the Harbour lights overlooking the bay, this bar is run by British people who are very friendly and provide the most wonderful sunday Lunch, we would without hesitation return to Puerto Rico, Loved it.

We have been in Puerto Rico many times and I have to say it has something for everybody. The Commercial Centre in the centre of the resort is a hive of activity. There are numerous bars and restaurants to chose from and the food excellent in any we visited. Particular favourites are Texas, San Miguels and Da Pinnochio. down near the Marina a visit to Don Qioxote's is a must but, beware, a booking is essential. Also along the beach front there is a lovely restaurant called Bit Corner. Portions are very generous so be hungry when you visit. You can hire pedalos and there is also wind surfing and paragliding. You can take a trip to Mogan for the market day and you may also go off out on the boat to see the dophins. No dolphins you get your money back. There is a large netto supermarket in the Commercial Centre which opens at 8am and closes at 10pm. Much cheaper than home! I would recommend Puerto Rico to anyway, from 9 to 90.
