The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

The steps down to the main strip were badly littered with glass when we got there, and it got worse over the week..
The pavements are generally filthy, lack of rain I guess.
Apart from that the resort really becomes two different areas at night... the harbourside strip is a bit more upmarket, quieter and the bars and restaurants don't hassle you the way that they do at the shopping centre..
Oscars is still up to par, and the Greek was pretty good too...
In the main mall there is thec usual hassle, happy hours, 2-for-ones and all the usual stuff... loads of restaurants, varying quality.... over half the restaurants/pubs on the upper deck are closed at the moment, some sort of electrical problem that caused a small fire a few weeks back and because of some dispute the power is still off... no end in sight to the problem.
Didn't do the beach, it shares the same water too closely with the harbour for my liking, a little too close to the Diesel for my liking and no waves...
Taxis cheap, so if you're "in the hills" , walk down (avoiding the glass) and taxi back for three euros!
Cheapest pint ONE EURO, every night and all the time at the english - run place on the top floor at the top end, closest to the latest development of the centre, oh and they do Karaoke every night...
ENJOY!

The Riosol is located away from the main resort and requires a taxi into the centre (just over 3 euros). Taxis are excellent and readily available. The main Europa centre near the resort mainly consists of bars and restaurants. You are constantly hassled by the restaurants to eat in their establishment which is a real pain and meant we avoided going there.
The main centre had a better variety of shops and was easy to barter in. You had to pay to use the toilets (50 cents each) at the beach so keep change with you.
We went to Aqualand water park with the rep as it was cheaper than going independently or with an independent company. We paid 27 euros per adult which included travel. Adult entry is 23 euros just for the park and travel by bus would have cost us at least 10 euros each. The waterpark is small and you will get bored after a few hours. Queues are very long with no shelter from the hot sun. We also booked a boat trip which was good value for money and had 2 1/2 hours out at sea watching dolphins. Some passengers however did get sea sick after 1 hour.

Again been bere many time and would say that the restaurants choice is great and although is busy and the touts try to drag you in, the commercial centre has the best choice for value and the section is great. the resort is quite over run in some places although the island is one of the best, Would try the water park in maspolamas and sad about all the fires although well worth a trip around the island, take the dolphin trips as worth every penny !! beach is good and the sea is inviting, The resort is clen although the amount of tourism it must be hard to keep it spotless, Food you must try - "padroyn green peppers" although once you fall for Puerto Rico you will keep going back.

Very small resort but very clean. Lots of restaurants pubs and also arcades and Mac Donalds. The beach is small very packed there are more beaches but you need to travel. We would definatley go there again. There is also a local aqua park in Puerto Rico that was very good the kids loved it. There is alo one in Maspolomas which we didnot go to because there is one on the door step.

I have been to Puerto Rico twice and must say once is plenty. There isn't a whole lot to do here. While we were there half of the commerical centre was with out power so a lot of the bars and restuarants were closed a lot of the shops were still open but to be honest when you couldn't see in there didn't see the point in them being opened.

puerto rico is a very nice resort which can be as lively or as quite as you want. there is something for everyone. If you want lively head to the commercial or the europa centers for the bars and restaurants. If you prefer a quite nights entertainment head for the beach where the food is delicious and the entertainment is low key. the beach is nice but has lots of cigarette butts everywhere. we preferred to walk along the coastal path to the amadores beach took approx 20 min slow walk but worth it. I would visit this resort again but would choose apartment on the flat and not in the hills.

The main strip was extremely clean, no litter in sight. plenty of entertainment. Snoopy's Bar is a must for a fun night. Happy hour all night!
San Miguel restaurant is not to be missed with excellent value on huge portions. Go early to avoid the queues!
The beach was a 15 minute walk but the hotel is not too far up the hill so it made a nice walk.
Puerto Rico has all the amenities within easy reach of all the hotels and apartments without being too big.

The Resort was very clean and litter and graffiti free. There are many bars and places to eat - all with English fayre on the menus. Not the place to go if you are looking to experience Gran Canaria culture or local food. By the end of the week all menus became one as did the entertainment offered in the local bars and restaurants. But, everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. So for a chill out week of sun, pool and relaxation you can't go wrong.

Fantastic beaches, areas of the bays sectioned off for safe swimming. Most hotels on hillsides but resort centre flat. Plenty of taxi's around, cost 2-3euros from beach to hotel, bus is 90cnts (per adult 1 way trip)for the same trip. plenty of bars & restaurants in the resort centre, only downside is that every restaurant has people outside trying to get you in. Great boat trips available from the main harbour. Very clean resort, colourful. Recommend the cliff work between bays.
