The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Europa Ctr on your doorstep at Blue Star, with loads of restaurants, and pretty much everything you could need on holiday - if not, central Puerto Rico is about 3 euros in a cab. Probably wouldn't suit young-up-for-a-major-party people, but bars are good and fun, and as a smaller area of Puertor Rico, staff recognise you daily, so personal touch.

brilliant place, beaches lovely and clean, toilet facilities good, bars and restuarants good value and night life good.amadores beach is a must so well thought about you can stay the whole day, swim, eat, drink all without getting off beach.plenty of the usual nik-nak shops to browse.in the harbour you can eat, go on speed boats, fishing trips and dolphin spotting trips.book these at harbour a lot cheaper than the reps. All in all we loved this place and are returning again this october.

The only problem with the resort is the bl**dy street reps trying to get you to go to the new 'resort' (timeshare) called Anfi, they're a real pain. Other than that excellent.

We liked Puerto Rico.Entertainment was good.People were fine. The normal staff trying to get you to eat in their restaurant but they were all polite and had a laugh. The only thing i missed(but this really is my preference)was the waves in the sea.The swimming areas on the beach are roped off and i did miss the waves.Maspalomas beach is better for waves.Food is cheap everywhere and so many choices.Avoid camera shops. They get you in to buy a cheap camera and then try to sell you a dearer one.Very good value but if you can,t say no you've had it.

Amadores is just outside puerto rico and is a more relaxed resort. It is a good base to most areas, Maspalomas & playa de ingles are approx a 30 min drive away and the sand dunes at maspalomas beach are worth a look! The beach at Amadores is clean and the resort itself is pretty. The Europa Centre in Amadores and the shopping centre in Puerto Rico offer the main entertainment, with a few quieter bars along the sea front. As with most tourist places walking past the bars and restaurants etc is a bit like running the gauntlet...everyone wants to entice you in!
Generally however if you want a cheap holiday, you like the bustle of bars and restaurants etc or you have a young family to entertain ....enjoy pizza, kebabs, steak and chips you cant go far wrong in gran canaria... Puerto Rico is very much like a well known english seaside resort but blessed with sun.....it boasts a variety of amusement arcades, bars restuarants, mini golf, kiddie trampolines takeaways etc.
If I were to return to Amadores beach I wouldnt return in Peak season and would definately pay a bit extra for a hotel closer to the beach, away from the Europa centre.

We stayed right at top of hill and used the amadores beach and the europa centre both of which were very good

Its very steep walks up to the Europa centre and 700 odd steps down to the main strip but taxi's are so cheap you cant complain.

The resort is suitable for families with lots of things to do. There is a waterpark only 10 minutes away and also 20 minutes to the beach. The apartments are on a hill so not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Lots of bars and eating places, and very cheap.

Excellent resort, great beaches great food and recomend squires for the best full english breakfast on the island, and piccadillys for a good laugh and free drinks.
