The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Was worried about stopping at the top of Puerto Rico but it was no problem, taxis easy to get and very cheap. Entertainment was great at top so didn't even need to go to bottom very often. Barbacoa great for family nights out

We had a lovely relaxing holiday although for a couple in our mid-twenties, the night life was more aimed at teens.
Would definately recommend to anyone.

peurto rico is amazing amadores beach has to be the best beach ever food is cheap and plentiful the shops sell things at a reasonable price. everyone was very friendly and always seem to have time for our kids especially EL TORO restaurant they always made the kids feel special and nothing was to much trouble.our only complaint was due to a dispute the back half of the commercial centre was closed due to no electric but have been told since that has been resolved so just bad luck on our part.have been before and cant wait to go again.I want to move out their but the wife wont have it.Lovely place to go for familys and the weather is always HOT HOT HOT.

We love the resort. Great food in the Europa Centre and plenty of bars. We found it very safe for children as in one complex they can wander round. Beach and waterpark within 15 min walk from apartments. 2 lots of different mini golf. And what more can a child ask for than a mcdonalds.
There is a market once a week which is only a 15 min bus drive. Really easy trip to do.there are also lots of boat trips from the harbour which is right next to the beach.

The resort is excellent. Not as busy as play del Ingles but, being of the more mature type of visitors, we had enough entertainment/restaurant/bars etc. to keep us satisfied.
The harbour was very busy with plenty of trips to sea available.
It is very hilly and if you have any sort of walking difficulties I wouldn't advise going unless your sure of accomodation at sea level.
The beach was clean and also about a half an hour stroll along a lovely sea view path there is playa Amadores which is worth a visit.
If we went to Gran Canaria again we would certainly visit Puerto Rico.

Resort up top of hill ok spoilt by people leaving dirty nappies on path or wall. Generally area is clean.
At top of hill bars provide local entertainment but tends to start around 1130pm. Lots of 2 drinks 5 euros lots of totes asking for your business. We found several bars and resutrants that served good food.
At the lower commerical centre we felt intimidated by the constant asking for your custom.
Beach was good good facilities canoes, paragliding, speed boats all to hire but no jet skies or banana boat.
Place to visit is mogen on market day go by boat lovley relaxing nice place to walk around and have lunch.

Neither myself or my boyfriend thought much of Puerto Rico as a resort. The hassle you get whenever you go into town has to be experienced to be believed. As we walked everywhere all week we found ourselves to be taking different routes out of our way just to avoid saying no all the time.
The bars have people trying to make you go in for happy hours that offer a buy one get one free deal that is a huge con at 14 Euro for what should be two bottles of beer. Even in the mornings we got continually pressured to go for an English breakfast everywhere which is even worse as a vegetarian.
There are africans selling all manner of tat at night who follow you until you talk to them. All the pubs are the same and overpriced. The food menu is also much the same everywhere - everything with chips. It's a real grease feast.
The supermarkets are also very expensive, I was really taken aback with the cost of essentials and even things like crisps and biscuits which are cheap here are overpriced. It's like any British seaside resort but very hot and dirty. We saw litter everywhere and it wasn't just the tourists dropping it. Ripped bin bags and rubbish litter some otherwise pretty area's and the paths which are all shiny white or terracotta coloured are frequently covered in dog excrement too. It's not pleasant.
We didn't go in the sea or venture onto the sand at the beach as the sand was too hot to walk on but the sea was also full of litter and fag ends floating on it and when we took a ferry excursion to Arguingine nearby there was a large greasy brown-orange streak over much of the water that look suspiciously sewage-like.
There are pretty bits, the port of Mogan which is a short ferry ride (with free sangria on board) was lovely but too small to make a day out of it. It is also Spanish looking which Puerto Rico definitely isn't. The whole resort is just hotels and bars and shops with tat in them. Only good shop I found was selling perfumes and cosmetics at cheaper than duty free prices and had some very good deals. The walk to the shops from the hotel takes you through a childs play park too which is a nice walk but be prepared for that sewage smell that is around the island.
There is a lot of cats in Puerto Rico too, it's overrun with them but they just lay in the sunshine and don't bother the tourists too much.
