The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

We found the resort brilliant loved all of it really was clean and tidy and Amadores beach is stunning.
Spent most of the week on the beach and in the Irish Cottage bar which is on the beach side, great food and friendly bar staff.
Went to Europa centre most nights, would definitley recommend Mambo's bar and Irish Cottage both great places.
Will definitely be returning to Puerto Rico next year.

Good resort, will be even better when they get rid of the promotion pests who seem to have taken over from the time share.

Puerto Rico itself is good apart from the constant touting to get you into restaurants bars etc. Playa Amodores beach is much nicer and cleaner. The Europa centre has a good perfume shop "Diana Perfumes" really cheap and they don't rip you off. The Europa centre itself is basically like Blackpool and isn't that cheap.

We booked up for Sioux City for New Years Eve which is really good all you can drink BBQ included. Europa centre only 3 mins walk come out of doors turn left and left again and walk up the path and thats the eupropa. Beware of the time share for Anfi del Mar. Other than that an excellent holiday for everyone this is my second visit to Gran Canaria and will certainly not be the last.

Overall we found the whole experience of Puerto Rico very enjoyable and the locals extremely polite and friendly. Watch out for the restaurants though as some are really dodgy on the quality and the amount of food you get. We took our time looking and watched the food being served to other people before entering as we did have a bad experience in one of them at beginning of the holiday.
The Europa Centre - I found this abit like Skegness - to many restaurants and not enough quality/traditional shops. Preferred Puerto Rico main centre - better quality food and better entertainment.
Buses are a good way to get round the island and are very cheap - well worth trying.

There are lots of shops/bars within a 5 minute walk at the Europa Centre. If you like the beach this is a fair trek but you can get a taxi or bus down if the steps are too much for you.
To be honest we never bothered as we found the hotel had enough daytime facilities for us.
We will certainly be going back this Christmas.

The beach is of a medium size and can be littered with cigarette ends. Pebbles make it difficult to get into the sea. In November it was not too crowded, high summer could be uncomfortable.
There are plenty of restaurants offering excellent food, but most have staff outside trying to get you in which can be rather annoying. Chinese buffets offer good value for money.
Beware of bars offering two drinks for the price of one. The prices are high. The bars offer something for everyone.
As most of the hotels are built on the hillsides you need to be fit, unless you can get into a hotel at sea level.

Puerto Rico contains something for everyone. The restaurants and pubs are very varied to accomodate young and old.
The commercial centre is the livlier of the 2 shopping cenres, with the better shops. Lots of perfume shops, who constantly try co compete with each other, so very handy for bargains!! This is also where the livlier pubs and clubs can be found, Donalds and Linekers were our faves though.
If looking for cheap drink go to M&Ms at the opposite end of the Commercial centre from McDonalds, can get beers from 60-90c, vodka and red bull at 2e, and alchopops for 1.80e (compared with the 4.50e in most other places!!).
As I was looking for a more relaxing holiday for a change, I preferred the europa centre which is probably best for families. Spent the majority of time in the Irish Cottage (not a good idea to have children in later on at night though!). Great source of entertainment, with one guy on guitar and singing, while main guy wanders about pub singing, and slagging everyone in sight!! Irish rep Gerry is absolutely lovely too!! Barbacoa is probably one of the main places though, with good meals, and plenty entertainment (singers, dancers, comedians, tribute acts).

The resort of Puerto Rico is fantastic! It has everything to do there. There are a large number of clubs and bars which are very noisy from about half nine in the evening until four in the morning and this can be heard from the hotel. However you get used to the noise and its not really a problem as you are in the holiday spirit yourself.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants although whilst walking round the Commercial Centre you will find that waiters try and drag you in their restaurants and this gets very annoying after about the fortieth time of asking!! My advice... just smile and say 'we've eaten thank you', they soon shut up!!
The resort is very clean. You hardly ever see litter. There are plenty of buses running throughout the day should you want to travel to other resorts.
Puerto Rico is well worth a visit. It was the seventh time we'd been and we would go back again and again!

Puerto Rico is a very lively town, with something for everyone.Lots of bars, loads of restaurants, with a choice of food from the 4 corners of the world. Taxi prices are very reasonable and I never had to wait more than 5mins to get one. The local people were all friendly apart from being harrased by street traders who kept trying to sell "bling". I am 54 and my daughter 21,there was something for us both to do all the time. The climate is great and I would recommend the resort to everyone.
