Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

The hotel has non stop entertainment. There is always something available to keep you entertained. Every room is in good location.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

Everything was amazing.

At this area of the resort it was nice, any further to the right and it got grubby, but this was between los cristianos and las americas so it was just nice.

The resort was clean but pavement areas were terrible. In desperate need for restoration.
The resort itself for entertainment we found catered for 18-30 years, loads of nightlife for the young not much for families.
Beach was black. We knew this before we went but having experienced it we felt dirty and couln't wait to get off the beach. The beach was empty most days and hardly anybody in sea.
We had never been to Tenerife before and we would not go back to this part again. We don't know if we would go back again to a different part, having been to a few holidays in Majorca maybe we compared this holiday to the ones in Spain and we found we would holiday in Majorca rather than Tenerife.
Only good thing was weather.

The resort was very clean and tidy, but the entertainment was very substandard. We went out every night to find somewhere to have a bit of fun, but most of the bars were closed.
On the first night we left the hotel at 1.00am to get a drink as we didn't arrive at the hotel until 12.30am. The first pub we found was called Snoopy's, the dj was a bit camp but that didn't bother us at all but by the end of the week we had got sick of the same jokes. On the Sunday night we were sat outside this bar when another family came rushing out, the father of the family was complaining of being accosted by a man who had been rubbing himself against him at the bar.
Another night we had gone down to the sea front to find some entertainment and ended up in a bar called the Jungle family fun pub, my brother in law went to the toilet, as he walked in two men came out of the cubicle fastening their trousers up and looking rather flustered. He complained to the DJ, the Doorman and the barman but they didn't seem to care. I had my 10 yr old son with me so we finished our drinks, quickly and left.
I am not a prude or homophobic but I do not think it is appropriate where children are, you would think in a resort as large as Playa de las Americas there would be gay bars, and that gay men wouldn't have to have sex in a toilet in a family bar.
I will never return to Tenerife agin and neither will my family.
I beleive there is a place for everything but not where children can stumble on gay men having sex, for the rest of the holiday I wouldn't let my son go to the toilets alone outside the hotel complex, to me that puts pressure on peple who have spent a lot of hard earned cash to go on what may be their only holiday for a couple of years.

This resort caters for all types of people, young and not so young, there are plenty of places to eat out at reasonable prices.
One place in particular was called Goran's where you can get a three course meal with wine or sangria for less than 10 euros and they did not skimp on the quatity as well as the quality, service execllent, very attentive, highly recommended.
Weather was great. Only fault we found was that we were for ever being pestered by touts trying to give you scrath cards for shopping centres, at every corner, road crossing, walking along the the street they were their, it got rather annoying after about the fiftieth time and you just wanted to tell them where to go but managed to refrain myself. otherwise we had a terrific time.

The entertainment in a lot of the pubs was first class.

I stayed at PDLA from May 10th til today (24th) and I'm really sad I'm home!! The resort was a brilliant laugh and it caters for all tastes.
Im 19 years old and went to Las Americas with my boyfriend who is nearly 21. We wanted to have a quiet day sunbathing, walking around having a look around, a meal on a night then a few drinks, sometimes going clubbing.
There are many bars for families where we stayed, we were in the Colon II apartments, and were told that it's good to go left on a night for food and good night drinking/family bars/karaoke etc (The Patch, great bars were The Full Monty, The Blaydon Races and Gangsters)
There is a great bar called The Royal in centre of Las Americas. It's great for the quiz at 9pm, Bingo (if you fancy them) then has acts on such as Chubby Brown, Blues Brothers, BWB singers, Rod Steward and Billy Connelly to name a few, great acts, the bar staff are great, Darren who is a young lad working there gives you a bit of a hand on the quiz on the sly if you need it. Had some really good laughs in there good place to go.
We were told to go right on a night, towards the Veronicas Strip. I personally didn't feel very comfortable on the main Veronicas strip, it had groups of youngsters drinking there and in any place where that happens there can be trouble, so I felt comfortable going up the street from Veronicas strip and going to the Mett Bar, Linekers and Down Under Bar etc, which were like clubs with deals on drinks and a great kebab shop!!
The beaches moving away from the centre of las Americas were lovely. The sea front is great to walk along day or night to see the views and bars/restaurants along the sea front. The longer you walk you will find greast beaches, clean sand etc. There is one beach which is mostly rocks and not good clean sand, so keep your eyes open on that one but like I say its only a small area and easy to avoid, just use common sense and you'll see where the people are, and thats where its lovely!!
The lucky-lucky men on the island were fine with us, they do tend to come all at once when you sit outside of bars, just something that happens but they leave with a polite no thank you and smile, some are very funny and great to talk to. Just use your common sense and be friendly and they go away The Reps are another thing, They tend to follow you and carry on talking even when you've said no thank you. Best just to ignore them, or tell them your tea-total.
The supermarkets for self catering, walk towards Los Cristianos one street back from the sea front and you will find a good supermarket going downstairs which has many good things to find. If you want cheaper food go towards the Columbus Hotel, just next to it is a yellow and black coloured supermarket that is very cheap.
PLEASE do not to go the supermarket infront of the Colon II appartment, unless out of normal hours, as it charges sky-high prices as it is a 24 hour store :)
A great Chinese/Japanese restaurant is directly infront of the Colon II.
We really enjoyed walking around and finding good places to eat, all things are catered for. Great place to go and I'd recommend it to people of all ages. We loved it!

We love Las Americas, the only downside is the timeshare touts. The accost you on every corner particulary along the front at Los Christionos and can get very threatening.

There is a long 'promenade' type walk going both left and right from the hotel. There are many annoying street sellers and most of the establishment owners accost you as you walk along with various offers of cheap beer etc. Beach was too littered with cig ends for us. We didn't really try the resort entertainment so cant really comment.

PR people are very annoying the resort was very quiet.
The Giddy Goose was fantastic food in there was brilliant bar very clean staff very friendly.
Went to Decades cost 42 euros per person and it was a total rip off, food and drink was included. Food not to bad drink was terrible, lager was flat, tasted like water. Wine was like vinegar. Show was rubbish, they kept messing up the music so when the dancers came out they couldnt dance as it was the wrong music. They sold raffle tickets only three prizes 10 euros for three strips we never saw the prizes or anyone collect a prize they called numbers out so quick that no one had any idea what they were when we asked what the numbers were they asked for our tickets said we hadnt won and threw tickets away. Loads of people were complaining.
Dont go to the George Bar as it is infested with cockroaches they were everywhere crawling on tables and chairs and were all over the floor.
