Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

I throughly enjoyed my time in Playa de las Americas, the beaches, sea and scenery are amazing.
There's so many good cheap restaurants and bars to chose from and Veronicas strip was brilliant, although I wasn't too impressed with the clubs and there were too many cockroaches but I can promise you you'll have a great time in Tenerife xx

Playa de las Americas is sprawling. To the east, you have modern Los Christianos with beautiful hotels and shopping malls. We walked there (about 2km from Malibu) one day, had a lazy lunch on a terrace in the sun, then strolled back along the beech just in time for tea. Smashing.
In the centre, you have the patch that Playa de las Americas is famous for, the 18-30 boozey strip - a great experience for a night or two, but I'm so glad we weren't staying there.
To the west, you have Fanabe - again, lovely area and not far from Malibu Park.
All in all, Playa de las Americas has something for everyone - it was good to realise that there's more the it than Vernoicas - we had a great time and I'm no 18-30s person.

At poolside i can't remeber seeing one sign of a litter problem, it was all very tidy.
The entertainement at night was brilliant, it had all stuff for kids and adults.
The pools were very hygenic, it said no lilos or jumping but everyone bought lilos and jumped in and everyone just had fun.

We have been to Tenerife 4 times now, but the area near this hotel (Medd. Palace) is definitely the best part!
Far enough away to be quiet at night, but close enough to get a taxi to the lively parts.
We will definitely go back!

the resort was quite clean,i didnt really have any bad reports. everynight my friend and i would go down the main strip known as veronicas, we had a brilliant time, we meet loads of people while we were out there.
the resturants served lovely food and we went back to one time and time again the food was so good, they have mcdonalds, pizza hut and kfc just like home from home really. the beach was quite rocky up our end but i dont like the beach much anyway.i would definately go back to the hotel and the resort.

Playa de las Americas is a place I would visit again but not right in the centre, unless you don't mind being bombarded by time share touts and would-be watch salesmen!
It is quite scenic and very clean and there are plenty of restaurants and shops if you like a bit of retail therapy. The people are very friendly and the food in the restaurants is of a high standard. Actually the food is better than supplied in the hotels.
There is a good mix with the lively part being in the centre and then 20 minutes walk if you like it a bit quieter.

I stayed in Playa las Americas resort and there was plenty to do day & night and the resort was clean.
The beaches were very nice...sand not stone which is very important to me.
I would like to return to Tenerife one day x

Obviously Playa De Las Americas has a reputation, but we didn't find it as bad as we thought it might be. We went in April/May so maybe it was a bit early for most people, but we didn't have any problems with drunk people etc. and we found a few nice pubs where you could sit and have a drink.
There are plenty of places to eat/drink and a variety of different cuisines. The prices aren't as reasonable as we thought they'd be - around the same as in England. Drinks were cheap though. It was about the same for a vodka and coke as it is in England, but with unmeasured amounts, you got about twice as much vodka.
The PR/touts outside the pubs and restaurants are annoying, but you get used to them and for the majority of them if you just say no, or ignore them, they don't bother you anymore.
There is not a lot to do in the resort other than drink or sunbathe, but then I think that's all most people want when they go there. It is relatively easy to get out to different parts of the island though if that's what you want to do.
The beaches aren't very nice. They are pebbly and crowded. There are paths all round them though so you can go for a pleasant stroll around in the sun.
