Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

we have been coming to las americas for years and never had a bad time my kids love it.entertainment is what you make of it yourself, there are numurous bars and restuarants to eat from. the beaches are very clean.the only thing i found disgusting is when you take a stroll along the beach up to los cristianos is 2 sewer pump buildings which the smell is horrific and you have touts saying come and eat here opposite these sewers( yes alright not!)however it is a nice place friendly people see you soon!!!

Only went into resort 3 times over stay, did not visit beach or attend any entertainment, so cant really comment on it. Only we visited the resort 3 times because we were constantly bombarded with people with scratch cards wanting you to look at a new complex with a view to buying or sell sunglasses, watches, braid your hair, every cafe/restaurant you went past someone asking you if you want food/drink, someone selling trips, too much hastle if you want a nice quiet stroll or just to do a spot of shopping. We visited the Aquapark (new one to open shortly), on arrival your price is given with price for locals paying far less, for a family of 4 it cost 80 euros, however if you want to return to can ask for a arm band and can return of 6 euros adult and 3 euros child, once inside you have to pay for lockers, sunloungers 6 euros each, 4.10 for a hotdog, 3.10 for a small bottle of cola, my advise is to go to the Spar across the road from the park and buy water and pop before you go in cola only 1.45 for a 1.5 litre bottle.

The Torviscas beach is lovely and we stayed many a day till 7pm. Plenty of beach bars handy and there are new manned public toilets this year which are spotless. There is also the choice of the Pinta beach with an inflatable playground for the kids where you can buy a ticket for the whole day.
We never miss a day at Aqualand which is in walking distance but would advise to buy a ticket in advance in resort as queue tends to be very long and not much shade to stand in.
There are numerous eating places and tended in past years to visit Vista al Mar, a Spanish placewith good food, family friendly service and good prices! A new place opened last month is Renaissance Restaurant which is English and serves the most excellent English food tasted abroad!
Be wary of the ticket/scratchcard touts as previously mentioned, they never give up!
Also be very wary if buying a camera, we were sucked up into a scam where they sold us a camera and whilst 'collecting it from the wharehouse' we had the hard sell to purchase a better camera at double the price! We were disappointed in their tactics and it seems this is the trend throughout all of the camera shops in the resort.

Some parts of resort are needing cleaned and upgraded. There is plenty of free entertainment in most pubs and resturants.
The beaches in this area are set in small coves which look lovely the fanabe area is definatly the best area to be in as the famous veronicas area is really run down and grotty.
Really great weather and a fun resort whre you'll never be bored.

Generally the resort is good, and flatter than Los Christianos or Adeje, so better for people with mobility problems. Plenty of shops and cafes, the Safari Centre is very upmarket, and the place is clean and pleasant if a little bleak here and there.

We stayed in Adeje just opposite the Aquapark and it is a bit hilly, so those with walking problems stay away.
Some of the bars and restaurants we visited were most enjoyable but for the clubbers they need to go to Playa i think.
The beaches were amazing, spotlessly clean and brilliant prices for the beds and the beach bars were reasonable too.
Thumbs up for the resort itself.
PS I recommend going to the Moonlight Bar and seeing comedy Elvis - hes brilliant and sooooo funny - great show.

The local area is very nice (although very hilly) and there are lots of good bars and family restaurants. The beach is clean with some good water activities for the children.
Playa de las Americas is currently undergoing a major facelift along the beach front and I would not recemmend for prams/wheelchairs/small children etc. Lots of the area has no pavement and is being dug up - takes away any pleasure of a walk long the sea front.

Resort Cleanliness (PDLA): disgraceful compared with years gone by. walkways not washed overnight anymore. Litter everywhere and fag stumps, my god, no smoking anywhere indoors means you walk on fag ends everywhere.
And, they are digging up the patch road at the moment which is creating dust in hotels, bars and restaurants.
Expect it to be finished by June July.
Resort Entertainment : Very few top class acts around anymore. Crystal in Wigan Pier (only 1 hour a night) still keeps you laughing. And Tabby-Xfactor (The Dubliner) was our favourite. The Anchor is worth a visit or two.
Beach : Las Americas 1 Playa de la Vista 5
PDLV also has facilities for wheelchairs ie ramps and board walks on the beach. One very good area all boarded.
Would we visit again : No, think the wife and I have reached an age when if we go back to tenerife, we will stay further up the coast in either direction.
Hope you find this helpful.

I have been to a few Spanish holiday resorts and this is by far one of the cleanest, if you have even been to benidorn you will think this place was spotless. If you walk just 5 minutes out of las america to las cristios there are lovely sea front restaurants and wonderful 5 star hotels. The beaches here aren’t great due to the islands being rocky but don’t let this out you off. Entertainment covered everyone’s needs, from bingo to house music; from laughing to dancing everything is covered.
