Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

Beaches

we stayed in Costa Adeje.
The food menu in the restaurants are all the same.
The roads and pathways were dirty.
The beach was good but be prepared to be hassled all day by street sellers.
We will visit Tenerife again but to a different Hotel.

good clean resort

The improvements they are making to the resort are really makinga difference. The landscaping around the Colon 2 apartments is lovely and it feels very safe walking around. We enjoyed walking along the seafront, the resort is very clean, with good shopping around the fountains and the santiago complex. We liked to go to the Cafe de Paris at night and listen to Chris and Brian who were brilliant muscicians, and played anything from fleetwood mac to REM. We liked going to the 4 seasons beach bar for lunch to watch the surfers. The tora tapas bar, and linares 3 served nice meals. Its a place that suits all age groups and you can have a quiet holiday or a lively holiday. depending on what you want.

The resort had plenty to offer from quiet bars to noisey Kareoke bars and enough eating places to feed an army!
Shopping was a plenty or just simply lazing on the beach or by the pool.
The astroturf football pitch opposite Las Floritas provided my 2 sons with an outlet for their urge to kick a ball for 90 minuites or so.

Have been to Las Americas several times, up to 12 years ago. It seems a lot cleaner and rid itself of the prostitutes, drugs and pickpockets and the central areas are being dug up and rejuvenated. The only problems still are the holiday club/timeshare touts (see above), lucky lucky jewellery men, Thai massage girls, the bar PR's who won't take no for an answer and the endless people in bars trying to sell you raffle tickets, gifts, gimmicks, etc.
Beaches are nice and clean with massive waves for messing about in, straight off the Atlantic Ocean. Loro Parque is well worth a trip to, the park now has an Orca Whale show as well as dolphins, parrots, sea lions and penguins.
Dozens if not hundreds of decent bars and restaurants, all reasonably priced. Shop around for meals and you'll find some great offers - International Restaurant around Puerto Colon- friendly staff, Meal of a huge mixed salad, Steak, dessert, glass of Sangria, two free schnapps shots each, all for 6.95 Euros (approx £5.20!!)
Most pubs and bars apart from the Veronicas and Starco areas are led by live entertainment after 10pm and it seems you could see a different Elvis/Neil Diamond/Motown/George Michael, etc tribute every night, most of them really good. The comperes sound a bit dated with an endless stream of Bernard Manning gags but its worth catching Mike Carlton at the st Eugens bar or the Crystal Starr drag act at the Wigan Pier who've both been there for donkeys years.
Beware the likes of Yates's and Linekers on the main strip who will try to drag you in for a Buy 1 Get 1 Free 'special deal' (we actually got charged 14 euros/10 pounds for 2 pints of lager and 2 vodkas or they said it would be 10 euros if we just wanted 1 of each instead - not much of an offer!!).

A very safe feel to the resort. A few "holiday club/time share" touts but a polite no thank you and they walked away. Some good shops, especially in the safari centre and a beautiful stroll along a flat prom to the busier end of Playa de Las Americas if you turn right. Turn left and you're in Los Cristianos.

This hotel is central. You can either go down to the harbour where there is entertainment in the bars, or walk along the promenade to Fanabe, which is more upmarket and has lovely hotels. There are roadworks at the hotel but they were nearly completed when we left. There is also an excellent bus service to Los Christianos, if you dont feel like walking.

PR staff are a nightmare in town, you cant walk anywhere without them hasseling you..... buy one get one free seems to be a favourite out there.

Excellent location close to the beaches and entertainment if you want it.
I do wish people wouldn't use the sand as their personal ashtray.
Los Christianos beach is without doubt the best and caters well especially for disabled

The resort was generally very clean, plenty of restaurants and bars around where almost any kind of food and drink could be had. The beaches were well kept and safety patrols were always present in case swimmers appeared to be getting into danger. We found the entire resort to be surprisingly hot for the time of year
