Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

Torviscas is just right for people who do not want to be in the thick of things but near enough to it to sample the lively spots when they want.
The Port is a good place to watch the boats coming in and out and you can get reasonably priced food and drink there especially through the day.
There is a small beach next to the port with all the facilities.
There are reasonably large supermarkets near with everything you are likely to need on a self catering holiday

Not many travel companies mention the steep inclines to get to the beach from this complex, but most streets down to beach are steep and paved with slippery paving slabs, to get up the roads coming back from the beach you need to be fit!!

Costa Adeje is a really nice place with good access to all that it has to offer.

Playa de las Americas is going though some changes that will make it an even better resort to visit when it's finished. Although a lot of the work has been almost completed it does mean some disruption to traffic at the moment but it should be finished by about March or April. The main road through has been made mainly one way with some large rectangular boxes that could be for flowers and trees which will look stunning when they are finished. The pedestrian pavements are wider and are much easier to walk on now. Even though there is obviously some dust from the work, the resort itself is very clean, with no litter around. There are several new shopping complexes for anyone who likes browsing shops that are not just selling souvenires. The market that used to be opposite the Pueblo Torviscas has moved about a mile away to a large plot behind the Hotel Fanabe and felt much less crowded as there is so much more space.
The restaurants by the port were very busy in the evenings and several had live entertainment every night, either country and western or quite a few being Elvis, Orbison or Elton John.
The beaches, as always, were very clean and one has been greatly improved with a ramp and toilets. The coastal pathway leading from the port area now goes a long way, through Fanabe and on to Del Duque and beyond so anyone wanting a long stroll will be well satisfied. I will definitely be visiting PDLA again.

This area, although still being developed, has some very attractively designed buildings which are pleasant to the eye: an abundance of benches on which to sit and watch the world go by, enjoyed by all. A great selection of restaurants offering fresh local fish/seafood at reasonable prices.

The area around the hotel and the safari shopping centre is very clean with a plentiful supply of good shops that were reasonably priced. However as you venture away from the pedestrianised area towards Veronicas area there are major road and services redevelopment taking place with restricted access often occupied by the scratchcard scum that try their best to fleece any English person into buying a timeshare apartment. These people really are the most off putting thing about Tenerife and the sooner they are barred from street selling the better the place will become. However don't let this put you off Las Americas because slowly but surely it is being redeveloped for the better with a lovely climate and plenty to do.

Clean comfortable and affordable. Never short on restaurants, bars, clubs, night life, and only 300 yards from the beach. We just keep going back for more sunshine.....

For excellent breakfast or lunch visit the California bar (1st bar on your left as you go towards Apartments from main road. Dave and Mary will make you very welcome.
At night it depends on your taste in entertainment we visited the Anchor bar one night since it was nearby it had a very good soul singer 'Mr D' whose act was almost ruined by the prat of a waiter who wanted to be the star of the show twirling around on the empty dance floor, an absolute plank to say the least! We prefer the Sax Bar at the Patch where Ian Rockcliffe will rock you with his guitar skills and the owner Tam Kellichan from Lochgelly shows he can still play the drums as good as his days with the Skids (didnt have the grey hair then!) The Dubliner band are also very good with another exeptional guitarist they stop playing at 3am.
